It was a beautiful night so I took a million pictures of the view and not many of our food. Food with a view is usually not great bc you're paying for the view, but this food is better than average. Last night I had the veg risotto. Generous portion, nice flavors. Husband had a chicken sandwich that he said was like an 8 (he's a fried chicken sandwich guy) and fries. The fries were DELICIOUS! I went a few months back and had the veg poke bowl. It was the special and it was also very, very good. Our waitress last night was fantastic. It was pretty busy but she was extremely attentive and fast, and had one of my favorite qualities in a server: she didn't barge over and interrupt. She made sure we weren't MID SENTENCE TALKING and that we looked up at her before she spoke, which is such an under-appreciated quality in a server. The Landing is a bit spendy, but look at that view! It's clearly a place folks go to celebrate because there were THREE tables side by side that had birthdays. But back to the patio: this place used to be called Knapps Landing and we always called it Gnat's Landing because of the bugs. Well, the gnats haven't gone anywhere, but they've installed big fans along the deck which is a really smart way to curb the bugs, so bring a sweater. You can direct the fans away from you if you don't have a sweater, but heed this important tip! And go on a Wednesday! The live jazz quartet was awesome. read more

I just discovered this place and have been here twice this summer. There is such a cute summer vibe on the deck which overlooks the Stratford Harbor. They also have a little fish pond with a bridge on the deck which feels very magical. On the weekends they offer love music and have an outdoor bar. If you are a spritz fan they offer a few varieties and their menu is a mix of coastal seafood and Asian fusion. I typically get the Poke Bowl which is very fresh and tropical as well as roasted maple brussel sprouts! When the deck is busy the service can be a tad slow but you won't mind with the vacation vibes they are serving. read more

This was the perfect place for a beautiful outdoor lunch. Their patio overlooks the water and it was nice watching the boats pass by. The shrimp skewers were okay. The ahi nachos were good, I didn't eat many of the wonton chips because I thought it would be way too heavy, but there was a decent amount of fish. The Brussel sprouts were SO GOOD. The glasses they give you for water are really small, maybe like 6-8ounces and they leave a carafe at the table, but that was tall and skinny, maybe 20ounces. Since it was hot, we were drinking it and it quickly emptied. That's my only minor complaint. This was a very nice spot for a casual lunch by the water. read more

We went there for lunch this week 9-11-26. The manager/owner sat us right next to a table that he was shooting a "commercial" whether social media or other I don't know. We looked at the menu and for over 15 min NO ONE came to talk to us. He was so busy promoting his restaurant he forgot about the customers who pay for his establishment to run. We got up and left and at the door a waitress came running after us and asked us if she could help and we said no one ever spoke to us and we are leaving. She said "that's what I am here for" we said we had waited long enough w/o anyone checking on us and left. We could clearly see everyone outside had plenty of service while we on the inside got none. After shooting his commercial he spoke to people at 2 other tables, kissed one on the cheek and said how happy he was they were there. I would give it zero stars if I could. Had reservations for 6:30 PM. They had already run out of calamari, brussels sprouts mahi-mahi and apparently edamame and the Asian slaw. I understand restaurants can run out of things, but it's 630. That's just the height of the rush-hour . The Ahi tuna with edamame and Asian slaw was awful .The ahi tuna was clearly frozen and was way overcooked . They state it was rare. It was Medium well . It came with no edamame and no Brussel sprouts.. The Asian slaw was a joke it was merely a tablespoon of Asian slaw. The sticky rice was obviously refrigerated because parts of it were hard as a rock and not at all sticky , The watermelon Mojito tasted nothing more than watermelon and seltzer. By far the worst meal I've ever had at any restaurant. This is such a shame because the view is great. read more

This restaurant I located on the water near an airport so the experience is always unique. From yachts, to kayakers to fishing boats trolling by to planes literally flying overhead as you dine. The restaurant is great for special events indoors and features lovely outdoor seating complete with a koi pond and outdoor bar. Over the summer a pair of osprey had two to three babies in a nest you could see from your table. Some of our favorite items on the menu have been their salads, the smash burger (ask for lettuce, tomato and fresh jalapeños) as well as the chicken sandwich. On one occasion they had gyoza as a special and it was delicious. On this past weekend we shared the smash burger with a side house salad. This house salad did not disappoint. Service can be iffy as it was on this visit, but food and ambience are great. read more

This place has a lovely atmosphere outdoors. We used to love it but since the name change, we ordered food but we waited hours and hours! People who came in after us did too and finally left, not getting any food.when they left. Th staff tried to give us what they had ordered...We did not order it and did not want that. We told the staff that, but still we did not get our orders and we finally gave up and left without eating! We went down the road and enjoyed our lovely dinner at the Little Pub which served us nearly immediately! Thank you Little Pub. We have NEVER gone back to The Landing. Honestly, if it wasn't for our server Jesus, I'd probably rate this a 2. Even then, I wish I could rate it a 2.5. But his attentiveness and ability to manage our large group was impressive. I started out with a Manhattan - ordered it "up" but it came out on the rocks. To make matters worse it was not good at all. For an app I got the lobster bisque which, while it did taste good, was more like a chowder - it was chunky and light - not rich and creamy like a bisque should be. For dinner I wanted something fresh and light so my best option was sushi but the rice was so thick and just heavy overall. The view is nice, great little bar area with tables and corn hole outside. If you decide to come here, keep it simple with a beer and a sandwich or burger and I think you'll be pleased. read more

Friday 6:30 reservation . Arrived and told they had no reservation for 5 of us. Was told Online reservations are not for patio seating which unfortunately is not mentioned on their website/ or reservation request. So whose fault is that ? We were able to be seated 15 mins later . Menu is limited . Not enough to choose from, Soup came out cold, Caesar salad had no croutons. "Sorry we ran Out" Long wait for food to come out of kitchen. No complicated orders just slow . Front of house needs training , servers need training never came back after food was served to check on things , had to flag her down to get soup reheated . Purposely came here because parking easy but not anymore . Had to park halfway down the street for a space . If we ever go back again but doubtful will never sit on the Patio . We were eaten alive ! Should change the name to "Gnats Landing" . The original Knapp's Landing was more enjoyable, better service , better menu and we could get a parking space . You need some improvements . read more

This place has a great view! It has corn hole and great water views. The menu isn't extensive and I wasn't sure what I wanted to order. I saw they offered sushi and figured why not because fish selection should be fresh. The sushi was very heavy. The rice over powered the taste and feel of the roll. I don't think I will order it again. They do have great fries! The caesar salad was ok, my croutons were stale. We had an excellent server named Jesus. He was very attentive to the needs of our table since we had a party of 14. Everything came out as ordered. Our table ordered drinks and weren't very impressed. My husband ordered a Manhattan up and it came on the rocks. Two of my friends ordered the mahi burger and raved over it. I wish I had it as my main meal. Overall, it's a spot with a view. Father's Day disaster. The calamari came with about 6 pieces & was the most chewy thing I've ever ate, not to mention after one piece I made the discovery of a humongous hair in the marinara dipping sauce. Sent back! Now for lunch you can't go wrong with a burger right? Wrong so they have proved. Once again ANOTHER big fat hair smack dab pressed into the cheese in my burger. Disgusted, staff is quick with you and pretty unresponsive. The ambiance is ok, the water is obviously a pretty feature but other than that it gives cook out in your backyard. Nothing nice about it, so with that being said and the Fru Fru food plating and portions your receiving, it's like their trying to serve you for a elegant dinner on the water rather than a patio table smushed together with the people next to you & a sun cruiser umbrella on top. What a joke! Never again would I come here, I'd advise you to do the same & take your money where it will be at least WORTH it. At least they did do the right thing of providing a reasonable discount on top of trying their best to correct it but over all this place is just not worth the stop! read more

Third time here and once again really enjoyed it. The redesign of the place looks great. It is more modern, but still beachy and nautical themed. The water views are awesome. There wasn't much good to say about our experience at The Landing. We ordered takeaway and when I arrived to get my food it was a Where's Waldo to find an employee. No one at the entrance, no one anywhere I could see, and then an employee chanced upon me as I was wandering around and led me to the very back where the bar area was. We ordered a lobster roll with side salad and tried their lobster bao as well. We received a roll with fries, a side salad, and bao, so a little displeased at buying an extra salad from the top. The roll was in a brioche bun, which I've now discovered is not the bun for a lobster roll as it leaves an overly sweet taste which serves to assert itself over the lobster. In this case that might not have been all that bad as the lobster itself was tough and chewy, like rock lobster. The bao were much more like bahn mi, but they had a tiny nugget of fried lobster in a huge bao bun, obscured by pickled vegetables and slathered in spicy sauce. At least the fries we didn't want were tasty. Can't recommend this place, 10th place of the 13 lobster rolls we tried in CT this summer. read more

Stellar customer service! The outside patio is spacious and the koi pond adds a very unique ambience. I have travelled all over our part of the east coast (NY, Maine, CT, RI, MA) to find the southern fried oysters experience and I was so pleasantly surprised to trust the waiter's recommendations and try theirs and the oysters were to die for! Crunchy, cooked to perfection and extremely flavorful! The mahi sandwich was super fresh and had an explicit flavor! Love that the dishes were not covered with french fries to make up for space but were just enough! Lobster roll had a generous meat portion. Fish sandwich was tasty and crunchy, like it should be! Came here for a company dinner. Placed in a smaller room which became very loud rather quickly. The service was constant and consistent. Having 3-4 servers going in and out assisting. However the food could of been better. The apps were ok, wings were ok, Brussels sprouts were good, nothing stood out. I got the filet, it didn't have a sear and was almost mushy? Potatoes were left whole with no butter or oil or anything. Those were left untouched but the asparagus was tasty. It's hard managing a large crowd. My wife and I went for lunch - our first visit under this name - we had been to the previous restaurant that was In this location a number of times but not since well before 2020. The decor may be slightly updated but if you have been it's the same beachy vibe as always. We sat on the deck and the views and weather were amazing. The menu has a slight Asian flair to it - lots of great choices on the menu. We ordered the pork belly Bahn mi, the fish sandwich and a "small plate" special they had - lobster boa buns. The bao buns were amazing. Three to an order and probably enough for a light lunch on their own. The pork belly bahn mi was also very good as was the fish sandwich - both a little messy but good. If I had to look for something to complain about I would say the service is a little slow - the views, company and weather were awesome so a little slower pace was not at all bad. read more

If not, anyone that's has been going to old Knapps Landong for years clearly doesn't know good food as it's been nearly 2 decades since it was any good...lmfao. OK, now back the task at hand at hand...i'll rate it 3.25 stars as it's first time here. The new owners seemed to have stepped things up a lot. We ate outside, the ambiance hasn't changed but they did have live music. The interior is much nicer than I remember so that's an improvement. Food. We had the Mahi sandwiches in brioche. The fish was clean tasting and cooked perfectly, though a bit small in size. Slaw topping complemented nicely, the brioche bun was a let down, more Shoprite than a quality Brioche bun, and not toasted either. The fries were awesome, seasoned with a bit of cheese. At $21 though it was pricey, but you get the view and all added in. Service was ok, but they didn't explain specials or anything. It seemed the bartender was also serving as waitress. The olde Knapps Landing hasn't been good since the early 2000's (and downright awful the last 7-8 years), with Little Pub in town and Riley's stepping up their game this place is forgotten. Ironically the view here is sooo much better than those places, airplane landings notwithstanding... Overall menu seems good, and prices for other items seemed ok so absolutely worth going back for another meal. read more

I haven't posted a review in years, but this experience forced me back to Yelp. When this place opened, the quality was incredible. I'm unsure what has happened, chef change, owner change, whatever it is, it's not good. Most items are now pre packaged. They pass off store rolls now as Parker house rolls. Lobster bisque is mass produced and tastes like carrot soup. Here's the moral to the story, people will pay for quality food but they won't pay for poor food at the same prices. My fiancé and I sat at their new sushi bar. The sushi rolls were fantastic. It was so authentic and each roll was a nice surprise. The service is top notch. The ambiance is so cool!! We sat down at 5:30 and was able to see the sunset while eating our rolls. After sunset, the decoration with the lighting just made the room so vibrant. The staff is great and I love the food, especially Eggplant Tuscany, a different & interesting mix of flavors-- make sure you get it with crushed hot pepper -- fish & chips are perfectly fried --- and order a salad. Even just the basic one is a great combination of vegetables with an delicious dressing that ties it all together. The dining room is very clean with cloth napkins. Two girlfriends and I enjoyed a delicious dinner there tonight in conjunction with Stratford's 2024 Restaurant Week. Great thought and care are put into everything at this waterfront restaurant, from the artsy nautical decor to the dedicated "sushi room" to the very attentive waitstaff. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and perhaps most importantly, the food was amazing! We each ordered the Sherry Chicken dinner and agreed that it was one of the best meals ever. We'll be back! Always had a great experience at Knapps Landing. Our experience at the renamed restaurant was very disappointing. Pub food at fine dining pricing . Add on shrimp to an appetizer for $8 with only two shrimps!! I understand that pricing is related to inflation etc but this was not worth the money paid. I will miss the old Knapps Landing .
