My two friends pork chop were raw and again we had to chance down a waiter. They. recooked one and the other one was taken off the bill but by the time they brought back the second pork chop we were all done eating . While the restaurant was beautiful, the food quality was just not there for the prices they charged. The jam on the burger was good, but it was over cooked and really dry. The fruits and peppers on the charcuterie board were mushy and not fresh and just overall the entire thing was disappointing. First time at The Landing Rooftop after hearing about it for what feels like since the day it open we made it, but hey better late then never right? We came in on a Saturday Night and of course had a reservation which I would highly suggest since the place fills up fast and most of the tables were already marked when we arrived. I will say when we got to the rooftop the view was very nice so maybe try and ask for a table with a good view with your reservation. Once seated we checked out the menu going over the appetizers first. Now I will say they have a seasonal/rotating menu so options will change. I will say a lot of the apps looked great, The Southern Fried Chicken Steam Buns, Braised Lamb Leg & Potato Empanadas, Pan Seared Crab Cakes but I went with one of my favorites from Key West: The Island Conch Fritters. I also insisted on one or two more apps but Ashley was on her healthy kick so couldn't have too much temptation around the table. I will say the Island Conch Fritter were very good and not to chewy. Plus the Caramelized Pineapple-Harissa Aioli they came with had great flavor and took the dish to the next level. Now for entrees I was discussing over 2, The Squid Ink Cavatelli or the Adobo Fried Pork Chop. Now I rarely go for Pork Chops but this was calling my name. It came with Sofrito Rice, Black Beans, Sweet Plantains, and Jalapeno Pepper jam but the The Squid Ink Cavatelli with it's Red Shrimp, Roasted Paty Pan Squash, Cornmeal Crusted Calamari, Calabrian Chili Arrabbiata Sauce, and Tarragon. So what to do. Well we ended up splitting them because " why not both?" The Pork Chop was pretty cooked, juicy and tender. Really will have me looking at Pork Chops more now. Now the only thing I didn't like was the Jalapeno Pepper jam. I was just too sweet and overwhelming for me. Just took too much away from the main. Now the Cavatelli was also very good. The sauce had just the right amount of kick and the seafood was cooked right and I didn't have a lot of Squash which was the only thing I was worried about. I will say though the temperature of the dish could have been a little hotter though. All and all very good meal with a great view. Dined here last night and it was excellent. The atmosphere is very cool with all tables having a view of the skyline. The service was nice and friendly and timed perfectly. A manager came around to see how everything was and I saw him helping bus tables also(kudos!) We ordered the Burrata appetizer, I had the filet for my entree and my husband had the squid ink cavetelli with shrimp. My filet was cooked great, it was extremely tender for a filet, definitely the best steak in the area. My husband loved everything about his dish. I tried it and the sauce it came with was a spicy red and was delicious. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the crostini that came with the Burrata app were not toasted, and also we did not have silverware when the app arrived and I also had to wait a couple minutes for a steak knife when my filet arrived. read more

The Landing is located on the top of the Melby Hotel. It is a beautifully laid out and decorated bar & restaurant. I would've enjoyed sitting inside as well, however we opted for the outside seating so we could enjoy the stunning sunset over downtown Melbourne. The outside fire pits were beautiful and cozy and would've been really nice to enjoy the cool weather around, but the concrete wall blocked the skyline view and we didn't want to sit so low. It would've been really nice if they had some of those modern flame heaters like other restaurants have as it was a bit chilly and lighting was very very dim. Even though they brought out a very cute table lantern, it was still too dark to see the food which made it difficult to tell what might've been in or missing from my meal. I love the presentation of food in general (especially at pricier restaurants) so this was definitely a downside but not necessarily a deal breaker. I do advise that if you struggle to see in dim lighting, you will need that cellphone light handy. I ordered the Rocket drink which is one of their on tap cocktails and it featured tequila and jalapeño, though I didn't find it overwhelmingly spicy; the heat was really minimal and quite enjoyable for the taste profile. Highly recommend this drink! We ordered the burrata appetizer which featured a seasonal vegetable (acorn squash?) and was ohhhh so delicious with the prosciutto. I was slightly confused on how to eat it but we came with someone who has been here multiple times and just followed their lead. It wasn't nearly as warm as I was expecting it to be but I've only had burrata one other time before so I can't really compare/ leave you with high expectations. I can only say that we really enjoyed it and I do recommend it. My main course was the black bean "burger" (a wrap really). There were some really stand out menu items I wanted to try but I settled on this, and I wasn't disappointed. The portion size was huuuge. I opted to add pickled red onions because they're my favorite and I highly highly recommend that addition. The truffle fries on the side were really unique overall and perfectly crispy on the outside just how I like it. Given other reviews, I did not come with high expectations, so The Landing did exceed my expectations overall. It exceeded 1-2 stars for me because I did really enjoy the ambiance, location, drinks and food. The service was really prompt for us and our waiter was really great so he pushed it over the 3 star mark for me. And the food and drinks were delicious which pushed it to 4 stars. My only complaint is it is on the pricier side, the outside lighting was extremely dim, and west side of the patio lacked heaters (maybe they bring them out when it's much cooler?)... given this was my first time I can't say it's consistently a 5-star establishment, but overall I really enjoyed it and can see myself coming back in the future. read more

The Landing used to be my wife and my absolute favorite dinner spot--beautiful views, delicious food, and welcoming service always made for a special evening. Unfortunately, each visit in 2025 has become increasingly disappointing, to the point where it has turned into our worst dining experience. The level of service has drastically declined, and now it feels as though our mere presence is an inconvenience to the staff. On Valentine's Day, we felt rushed and unwanted, repeatedly asked if we were ready to leave every 5-10 minutes. Our Valentine's dinner barely lasted 40 minutes before we eventually gave up and closed out. Today was the final straw. After 40 minutes of being completely ignored, without even placing our order, we were forced to walk over to the host desk ourselves just to close out our drinks. Our waiter interacted with us only once, and even then, it was brief, rude, and unfriendly. I've never left a restaurant before without ordering food, but the experience was so unbearable today that we had no other choice. I'm not sure if there's been a management change, but unless you're just there to drink, do not expect good service or basic hospitality. We were told to visit this place to see most of Melbourne city from Birds Eye View. Yes the view was worth parking and going up to the top. Could see the causeways, City, ocean, etc. Once inside the dining area it was very noisy and loud.(echo sounds) We sat on the deck outside and enjoyed the view. They had umbrellas to help with the direct sun, that was nice. We ordered an open faced omelet, spinach, cheese, heirloom tomatoes, $19 came with 5 small potatoes. Very pricy for what we received. I do not believe we received heirloom tomatoes. Unless they consider a yellow grape tomato cut in half as an heirloom tomato. We decided to share it as we were not very hungry and just wanted the view. My husbands coffee was $5.00, when server was asked what kind of coffee did they offer he didn't know. Said we can make you a cappuccino or ice coffee if you like. All my husband wanted to know was, dark or medium roast... we got a deer in the headlight look. Our server was nice but I think he took a table he was not supposed to take. Once he got our drink order about a minute later another server walked up. She seemed annoyed that the other server had already dropped in. Our service was not good. It took a long time to get our drinks and food. It was not really busy. Our server did everything we asked it just seemed to take 3 times as long. For Example: we did not receive any silverware or napkins when we were seated. We received our drink order, ordered our food... still no utensils, our food order came and I began to eat with my fingers, still no utensils. We had asked a twice before but, nada . I asked another server that walked by and finally got our silverware and napkins. This place has a long way to go to compete with other high end restaurants. Attended a Monday night fundraiser. Turnout was small but they donate a percentage of their sales that night yo an organization each week! Small plates were delicious! I have to give a 5 star to the food. I'm giving such a low star because the service was terrible. I set a reservation two days in advance for a birthday. We weren't given the happy hour menu until after we ordered. I said the same thing was on happy hour and the sever wouldn't change it. I waited 30min to order a second drink and by that time everyone was ready to go so I didn't get one. We had to ask for more water and no one came back to check if our meals were okay. I asked if they had a birthday dessert menu and when it came out the guy said he didn't know it was for a birthday or presentation would've been different. Ridiculous.. I think 5 conch fritters for $13 is prices when you can get 7 down south for the same price. The wings were delicious but it was a little too much bread for my liking. You're really paying for the fact that it's sitting on top of a hotel. The view isn't bad considering it's downtown Melbourne. What you see is what you get. The Cheese and Charcuterie board was a waste of money. You pay $25 for what you see pictured. Definitely overpriced. Definitely the most unique and actually one-of-a-kind in this county... Located in Brevard County, FL, the city of Melbourne to be exact, a rooftop bar and restaurant is not only unique - it's the only one I am aware exists. The building is, I'm guessing from the elevator, 11 stories tall, so the bar and restaurant are at the top. The bar itself is sorta smallish, but the restaurant, both inside and out is actually really big. I think there's more seating outside than in, and it is definitely very chic. The outdoor seating is very comfortable, the view is spectacular for the area, and if you go, you have to sit outside, you have to. Anyway, there is a separate elevator to take you up to the rooftop, after waiting for one of the concierge to even acknowledge our existence - we found it. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the service was attentive. Meal choices range from vegetarian to full-on carnivore, with drink choices plenty enough. I will mention this place is pricey, so if you go expect to drop some coin - but if the service keeps up as it is and the view just get's better - it's well worth the price. read more

First time staying at this newly opened boutique property in the historic downtown Melbourne. We were pleasantly surprised to find this rooftop oasis. Drinks were delicious and the kitchen presents a refreshing fair that's almost every bit on par as those in major cities. Service was friendly and attentive enough considering the current circumstance...so please cut them a break if your drink shows up 10 minutes longer than usual. My favorite are the Fried Chicken Buns, Hangar Steak and the Barrata Salad. Of course the view is spectacular. Best time to come is after 4:00PM as the sun can be brutal in the afternoon. I'm vexed by some of the negative reviews...perhaps it was during when the properly first opened and going through a phase of growing pain. What we experienced (and I'm a pretty hard to please traveler that always expects an A game) couldn't be more pleasant and diametrically opposite than those reviews. My wife and I were excited to try out The Landing for what seemed like a really cool spot for future dates, but after leaving, the food felt overpriced and lacking in quality that I've seen at some of the other spots in Downtown Melbourne. When you get there you park in the parking garage at the Hotel Melby and make your way to the hotel lobby and up the elevator to get to the rooftop restaurant. The decor is more of an urban industrial look through the lobby, which was pretty cool. Stepping into the restaurant was exciting with the really nice views of downtown, the causeway, and even the beach if you sit in the right spot. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but you could tell that they were still figuring out some of the logistics to make things run smoothly. As they are a new establishment, none of that was unexpected going into it. There is both indoor and outdoor dining here, but what sets it apart is the views (so definitely recommend sitting outside.) Everything was updated and modern and gave the feel of really upscale dining. The best thing about their menu were the drinks. My wife ordered "the melby," which tasted like Capri-Sun and came with a flower that makes your mouth numb if you chew it. Prices on drinks were typical of other establishments in the area, maybe a little bit over what I've seen elsewhere. The reason for the three-star review was for their food menu. Albeit we didn't try everything on the menu, it was all above the normal price range for the quality and quantity of food you get. My wife ordered the landing burger, and while tasty, it wasn't anything spectacular. It came with fries which were good, but again, nothing spectacular (at $15, it wasn't terrible.) I ordered the grilled skirt steak which had decent flavor, but was really really oily. But, the portion was so small and came with no sides, that I felt like I was overpaying at $25. (I told my wife I could've gone to Publix and made the same thing at home, but better, for half the price.) When we finished, we didn't hate the food, but we didn't love it either. We skipped dessert because we weren't impressed by the main course and didn't want to pay for more of the same. Like I mentioned above, the best part about this place was the view (and the staff was nice as well.) Would I go back? Yes, I would go back and give the menu another shot. I went here for lunch on a weekend with reservations at 1245. Got there a little early and waited until 110 to be seated. My fiancé ordered a spicy. Loopy mary at the bar, it took 20 minutes to get the drink. He got the drink minutes before we were sat down. Server was very nice and tried very hard to make the experience better. She asked is anyone had helped us yet, and when we said so she said she would help us. It took 10 minutes to get a waitress/menu. All the food was severely overcooked. We let the waitress know and she apologized and comped one meal. Overall the view was nice! And the server was great. The food, the wait and the overall experience contributed to the 2 stars. Shrimp and grits were put in a food processor, not even small chunks of Shrimp. Steaks were overcooked and appeared to be frozen. Ceasar salad was a regular salad with a whole anchovie on top. The hotel is aware of how bad this place is and apparently changes are in the works.
