We booked our reservation through OpenTable, but when we arrived, our table was occupied by guests who had spilled over from another party. The servers had to move them, which cut into our reserved time. We ordered beverages and meals promptly, but it took nearly 50 minutes for our food to arrive--a burger, a salad, and a pork chop. During that time, our server repeatedly assured us the food was just about to come out. By the time it finally did, the restaurant was already closed. I am only reviewing the rooftop bar and the drinks, never had food here. I love the vibes of the roof top bar but the drinks are terrible. Been here a total of 3 times with months in between, different bartenders and each time it has been disappointing. We ordered cosmo and espresso martini's during each visit, and they were consistently horrible and very expensive. With so many other options around downtown Melbourne, I would skip this place except for a quick rooftop view and then move on. read more

This place has it all! The rooftop is absolutely gorgeous with a view of the ocean and chic decor. The service was really lovely with our waitress was so kind to my husband and I who were visiting with our infant son. There was another member of staff who stopped to chat with us about our boy and offered to take a photo of the three of us at the table. Just really good energy from everyone who we spoke with there. We stayed at the hotel (I definitely recommend staying there!) and came up for brunch before we checked out. The lobster Benedict was out so I opted for the wagyu burger instead... hands down best burger my husband and I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly and full of flavor that wasn't over seasoned. The little French fry wedges that came with it were a fun change from regular ol' fries. My husband got the chicken n waffles which again, best chicken n waffles we've had in a long time and we lived in Nashville for almost 5 years! The waffles were fresh and the chicken was seasoned with some spice which gave it a great kick to balance the sweetness. We highly recommend this spot. Awful. We went on May 4th to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. The place was dead. That should have been a clue. We were told to order drinks at the bar. The bartender had no recommendations. He had a bamboo stick in his mouth he was chewing on the whole time. He NEVER checked our 21yo ID. So if you want to get drinks where they don't check ID this is the place!!!! The hostess handed me a menu when we went back in and asked. The waitress NEVER took our order. Another group of 4 complained and left. We finally left after finishing our drinks. Awful experience al around. Nobody actually wanted to be working- not the bartender, the hostess or the waitress. We were there about 7:30 pm so it wasn't at closing time and we were inconveniencing anyone. Not gonna lie, first time we came here we were a bit disappointed the brunch went so late in the day and the food wasn't great. But our most recent visit was amazing. The food was very so so. I got the fries and the grain bowl. The grain bowl was very bitter tasting and I basically ended up throwing it away. The fries were amazing. The server was very sweet as well. The restaurant is beautiful and has nice vibes to chill with friends. Definitely a bar more than an eating place. We loved sitting outside and looking over the city, and the bottomless mimosas were such a fun addition to our mom brunch! The food was delicious and our server, Dylan was great. I will start with the good...there is public parking across the street that was free. The view of the ocean from the 11th floor is great. The rooftop space is big and there is a lot of room to hold a lot of people and all of the furniture is nice. That's it. We were meeting long time friends and their young kids. No one at our table remotely liked our food, not even the kids. If a kid doesn't like chicken wings and ice cream something is wrong! My food in particular was the least interesting and it was gluten free. The first meal I had was an unseasoned airline chicken smothered in BBQ sauce on top of grits that had ZERO flavor and no salt. I had that sent back and I ordered a pork chop dish instead which also came on top of an un-seasoned mash of what looked like grits, but it wasn't. The pork chop was also not seasoned well either, but atleast they got the temperature perfect. I think the only gluten free appetizers they had was hummus. Well, the Chef came out to speak to me, but he really had nothing to say, no apologies nothing. He just awkwardly asked can he get anything else for us. The kids asked for the milkshake and 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream. It took 20 minutes for them to bring their desserts and they brought two MELTED scoops of chocolate ice cream and forgot the girls milkshake completely. The kids were upset and didn't want it.  I was quite shocked they messed up such a simple request. On the whole none of the food was seasoned or really tasted good. Everything looked pale and kind of sad and was plated as such. Our waitress was very helpful. The drinks from the bar were meh also. The craft cocktails all really contained things I don't consume. Shockingly I asked for a glass of prosecco and I was told they only served champagne and I was like what a great way to force people to pay for champagne and I passed and just kept my well drink. This place is listed as an upscale restaurant and it really isn't at this level of service its actually questionable if they have an actual Chef or just a stand in cook. Looking at Yelp there are tons of reviews pretty much with the same experience. It is good for the view, but that's about it. This was a very disappointing dinner. read more

Went for a group Thanksgiving dinner and we were seared in a dark area. We had to use our phone lights to see our menus and had chase a waiter in order to order food and had to go to bar for refills. My two friends pork chop were raw and again we had to chance down a waiter. They. recooked one and the other one was taken off the bill but by the time they brought back the second pork chop we were all done eating . The food & drinks were incredible! The conch fritters have such an amazing texture, consistency and taste. The Chile mango mojito was so refreshing and delicious while not too spicy nor sweet, a perfect pair! First time at The Landing Rooftop after hearing about it for what feels like since the day it open we made it, but hey better late then never right? We came in on a Saturday Night and of course had a reservation which I would highly suggest since the place fills up fast and most of the tables were already marked when we arrived. I will say when we got to the rooftop the view was very nice so maybe try and ask for a table with a good view with your reservation. Once seated we checked out the menu going over the appetizers first. Now I will say they have a seasonal/rotating menu so options will change. I will say a lot of the apps looked great, The Southern Fried Chicken Steam Buns, Braised Lamb Leg & Potato Empanadas, Pan Seared Crab Cakes but I went with one of my favorites from Key West: The Island Conch Fritters. I also insisted on one or two more apps but Ashley was on her healthy kick so couldn't have too much temptation around the table. I will say the Island Conch Fritter were very good and not to chewy. Plus the Caramelized Pineapple-Harissa Aioli they came with had great flavor and took the dish to the next level. Now for entrees I was discussing over 2, The Squid Ink Cavatelli or the Adobo Fried Pork Chop. Now I rarely go for Pork Chops but this was calling my name. It came with Sofrito Rice, Black Beans, Sweet Plantains, and Jalapeno Pepper jam but the The Squid Ink Cavatelli with it's Red Shrimp, Roasted Paty Pan Squash, Cornmeal Crusted Calamari, Calabrian Chili Arrabbiata Sauce, and Tarragon. So what to do. Well we ended up splitting them because " why not both?" The Pork Chop was pretty cooked, juicy and tender. Really will have me looking at Pork Chops more now. Now the only thing I didn't like was the Jalapeno Pepper jam. I was just too sweet and overwhelming for me. Just took too much away from the main. Now the Cavatelli was also very good. The sauce had just the right amount of kick and the seafood was cooked right and I didn't have a lot of Squash which was the only thing I was worried about. I will say though the temperature of the dish could have been a little hotter though. All and all very good meal with a great view. The only thing that caught me off guard was after dinner the party we where with did say wow the food was much better tonight. It's normally just OK so I guess this is the menu to try at The Landing. read more

While the restaurant was beautiful, the food quality was just not there for the prices they charged. The jam on the burger was good, but it was over cooked and really dry. The fruits and peppers on the charcuterie board were mushy and not fresh and just overall the entire thing was disappointing. The server was nice enough to offer to take it off your check since we didn't eat any of it. It seems like a really nice lounge, drink on the patio spot but don't go for the restaurant. read more

The Landing is located on the top of the Melby Hotel. It is a beautifully laid out and decorated bar & restaurant. I would've enjoyed sitting inside as well, however we opted for the outside seating so we could enjoy the stunning sunset over downtown Melbourne. The outside fire pits were beautiful and cozy and would've been really nice to enjoy the cool weather around, but the concrete wall blocked the skyline view and we didn't want to sit so low. It would've been really nice if they had some of those modern flame heaters like other restaurants have as it was a bit chilly and lighting was very very dim. Even though they brought out a very cute table lantern, it was still too dark to see the food which made it difficult to tell what might've been in or missing from my meal. I love the presentation of food in general (especially at pricier restaurants) so this was definitely a downside but not necessarily a deal breaker. I do advise that if you struggle to see in dim lighting, you will need that cellphone light handy. I ordered the Rocket drink which is one of their on tap cocktails and it featured tequila and jalapeño, though I didn't find it overwhelmingly spicy; the heat was really minimal and quite enjoyable for the taste profile. Highly recommend this drink! We ordered the burrata appetizer which featured a seasonal vegetable (acorn squash?) and was ohhhh so delicious with the prosciutto. I was slightly confused on how to eat it but we came with someone who has been here multiple times and just followed their lead. It wasn't nearly as warm as I was expecting it to be but I've only had burrata one other time before so I can't really compare/ leave you with high expectations. I can only say that we really enjoyed it and I do recommend it. My main course was the black bean "burger" (a wrap really). There were some really stand out menu items I wanted to try but I settled on this, and I wasn't disappointed. The portion size was huuuge. I opted to add pickled red onions because they're my favorite and I highly highly recommend that addition. The truffle fries on the side were really unique overall and perfectly crispy on the outside just how I like it. Given other reviews, I did not come with high expectations, so The Landing did exceed my expectations overall. It exceeded 1-2 stars for me because I did really enjoy the ambiance, location, drinks and food. The service was really prompt for us and our waiter was really great so he pushed it over the 3 star mark for me. And the food and drinks were delicious which pushed it to 4 stars. My only complaint is it is on the pricier side, the outside lighting was extremely dim, and west side of the patio lacked heaters (maybe they bring them out when it's much cooler?)... given this was my first time I can't say it's consistently a 5-star establishment, but overall I really enjoyed it and can see myself coming back in the future. read more

Dined here last night and it was excellent. The atmosphere is very cool with all tables having a view of the skyline. The service was nice and friendly and timed perfectly. A manager came around to see how everything was and I saw him helping bus tables also(kudos!) We ordered the Burrata appetizer, I had the filet for my entree and my husband had the squid ink cavetelli with shrimp. My filet was cooked great, it was extremely tender for a filet, definitely the best steak in the area. My husband loved everything about his dish. I tried it and the sauce it came with was a spicy red and was delicious. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the crostini that came with the Burrata app were not toasted, and also we did not have silverware when the app arrived and I also had to wait a couple minutes for a steak knife when my filet arrived. read more

Attended a Monday night fundraiser. Turnout was small but they donate a percentage of their sales that night yo an organization each week! Small plates were delicious! I wish there were a few more selections to share with friends. Cocktails well made. Staff friendly and accommodating. We were told to visit this place to see most of Melbourne city from Birds Eye View. Yes the view was worth parking and going up to the top. Could see the causeways, City, ocean, etc. Once inside the dining area it was very noisy and loud.(echo sounds) We sat on the deck outside and enjoyed the view. They had umbrellas to help with the direct sun, that was nice. We ordered an open faced omelet, spinach, cheese, heirloom tomatoes, $19 came with 5 small potatoes. Very pricy for what we received. I do not believe we received heirloom tomatoes. Unless they consider a yellow grape tomato cut in half as an heirloom tomato. We decided to share it as we were not very hungry and just wanted the view. My husbands coffee was $5.00, when server was asked what kind of coffee did they offer he didn't know. Said we can make you a cappuccino or ice coffee if you like. All my husband wanted to know was, dark or medium roast... we got a deer in the headlight look. Our server was nice but I think he took a table he was not supposed to take. Once he got our drink order about a minute later another server walked up. She seemed annoyed that the other server had already dropped in. Our service was not good. It took a long time to get our drinks and food. It was not really busy. Our server did everything we asked it just seemed to take 3 times as long. For Example: we did not receive any silverware or napkins when we were seated. We received our drink order, ordered our food... still no utensils, our food order came and I began to eat with my fingers, still no utensils. We had asked a twice before but, nada . I asked another server that walked by and finally got our silverware and napkins. This place has a long way to go to compete with other high end restaurants. The Landing used to be my wife and my absolute favorite dinner spot--beautiful views, delicious food, and welcoming service always made for a special evening. Unfortunately, each visit in 2025 has become increasingly disappointing, to the point where it has turned into our worst dining experience. The level of service has drastically declined, and now it feels as though our mere presence is an inconvenience to the staff. On Valentine's Day, we felt rushed and unwanted, repeatedly asked if we were ready to leave every 5-10 minutes. Our Valentine's dinner barely lasted 40 minutes before we eventually gave up and closed out. Today was the final straw. After 40 minutes of being completely ignored, without even placing our order, we were forced to walk over to the host desk ourselves just to close out our drinks. Our waiter interacted with us only once, and even then, it was brief, rude, and unfriendly. I've never left a restaurant before without ordering food, but the experience was so unbearable today that we had no other choice. I'm not sure if there's been a management change, but unless you're just there to drink, do not expect good service or basic hospitality. It's truly disappointing to see how far The Landing has fallen from what was once a lovely restaurant. read more
