I have to give a 5 star to the food. I'm giving such a low star because the service was terrible. I set a reservation two days in advance for a birthday. We weren't given the happy hour menu until after we ordered. I said the same thing was on happy hour and the sever wouldn't change it. I waited 30min to order a second drink and by that time everyone was ready to go so I didn't get one. We had to ask for more water and no one came back to check if our meals were okay. I asked if they had a birthday dessert menu and when it came out the guy said he didn't know it was for a birthday or presentation would've been different. Ridiculous.. I'll be honest, the food is a bit pricey for it being in Melbourne. But nevertheless it was good. The best thing on the menu is the conch fritters and the chicken wings. I think 5 conch fritters for $13 is prices when you can get 7 down south for the same price. The wings were delicious but it was a little too much bread for my liking. You're really paying for the fact that it's sitting on top of a hotel. The view isn't bad considering it's downtown Melbourne. What you see is what you get. The Cheese and Charcuterie board was a waste of money. You pay $25 for what you see pictured. Definitely overpriced. My fiancé and I came here tonight for our anniversary dinner. We never go out. We have both been in this industry too long and I've been a chef for.. well.. a long time. So, good food is hard to come by and we are always disappointed. But THIS was an exception. We had the spicy guava glazed pork ribs, the waygu burger, and the hummingbird bread for dessert. Splitting everything was more than enough for both of us. Kim was wonderful, very attentive and basically told us what to eat which was perfect. Even though the prices are a bit higher, we still walked out spending less than $100. Absolutely worth the trip! read more

This is a pretty cool place with fantastic views from the 11th floor of the hotel Melby. We stopped on a Sunday about 1pm. Brunch menu very good including bottomless mimosas.....$18 bucks but they bring you a fresh bottle of bubbly that they leave at the table along with a squirt bottle of juice so you can make it the way you like it! Definitely the most unique and actually one-of-a-kind in this county... Located in Brevard County, FL, the city of Melbourne to be exact, a rooftop bar and restaurant is not only unique - it's the only one I am aware exists. The building is, I'm guessing from the elevator, 11 stories tall, so the bar and restaurant are at the top. The bar itself is sorta smallish, but the restaurant, both inside and out is actually really big. I think there's more seating outside than in, and it is definitely very chic. The outdoor seating is very comfortable, the view is spectacular for the area, and if you go, you have to sit outside, you have to. Anyway, there is a separate elevator to take you up to the rooftop, after waiting for one of the concierge to even acknowledge our existence - we found it. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the service was attentive. Meal choices range from vegetarian to full-on carnivore, with drink choices plenty enough. I will mention this place is pricey, so if you go expect to drop some coin - but if the service keeps up as it is and the view just get's better - it's well worth the price. read more

Good experience here, went on a Thursday for a lunch meeting and it was the right spot. Ordered the Caesar with grilled chicken and was surprised by the presentation (a little off, see pic) but the taste was pretty excellent. $17 for my dish. Service was pretty good too. The views of all of Melbourne though, just wow! We were lucky enough to see a rocket launch from the cape while there. So cool! read more

The absolute worst service I have ever had. Waitress was incredibly rude. Will not be back. Was out of many things on the menu.

First time staying at this newly opened boutique property in the historic downtown Melbourne. We were pleasantly surprised to find this rooftop oasis. Drinks were delicious and the kitchen presents a refreshing fair that's almost every bit on par as those in major cities. Service was friendly and attentive enough considering the current circumstance...so please cut them a break if your drink shows up 10 minutes longer than usual. My favorite are the Fried Chicken Buns, Hangar Steak and the Barrata Salad. Of course the view is spectacular. Best time to come is after 4:00PM as the sun can be brutal in the afternoon. I'm vexed by some of the negative reviews...perhaps it was during when the properly first opened and going through a phase of growing pain. What we experienced (and I'm a pretty hard to please traveler that always expects an A game) couldn't be more pleasant and diametrically opposite than those reviews. (But) he took forever with our drinks & was pretty forgetful. My friend even said to us (after we ordered another round) "ok see you in 20 mins". It was faster to go to the bar & get them ourselves. My friend's date had to go get our server bc we needed silverware. Our food didn't take long at all. We enjoyed the apps, octopus, tuna, & charcuterie. The apps were fairly priced, I would order the tuna again. My friends ordered entrees, I thought they were too pricey. They said the 4 scallops were good but not worth $. My other friend enjoyed her shrimp pasta. She had me try it, the sauce was flavorful & the shrimp were big. Her date said his salmon was good, the presentation was nice as well. Her sister said her steak was too chewy & she wouldn't get it again. Our food came out before the Caesar salad so we canceled it. I'd visit again, the view & vibes are hard to pass up. read more

This past Saturday I visited The Landing. Upon arriving I was greeted by a friendly host. He set an appropriate seating ETA of 30-40 minutes. There's a great holiday ambiance so I did not mind waiting. It was also obvious different festivities were being celebrated. I decided to wait for the table and my friends at the bar with the Latino Bartender. I'm always excited to see my people in challenging role. Wow! What a let down! THE BARTENDER WAS THE WORST BARTENDER I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!!!!!! When i approached the bar area it was not busy. Within 30 seconds of me sitting at the bar I felt the negative energy. The Bartender would not make eye contact with me. 5 minutes went by with no acknowledgment from the Bartender. I the saw the friendly host by the bar. I asked him can I start the bottomless mimosa at the bar. The moody Bartender answered and said no. I said that's ok I will have an expresso martini. The countertop where I was sitting was dirty. I asked the bartender if he had a rag for me to wipe down the surface. OMG why did I ask him that? He threw both arms up in the air and said I have nothing. He caught the attention of the 3 ladies sitting to the right of me. He stated his shift started at 10am and he had been busy since the start of his shift. He also stated he did not have the opportunity to set up his bar. As he was on his rant I said never mind I see a table napkin. I grabbed the table napkin to clean the surface Since the napkin was dry it was not cleaning the surface. He asked to wet it. Well he wet the napkin however he did not wring it therefore the surface was saturated with water. I saw a dry cloth I grabbed and dried the surface. He saw that and was upset. He said that was his only cloth to dry his glasses!!! Needless to say I was closed my tab ( I had all intentions of running up the tab). I did not tip him. I wrote on the receipt, "please cheer up" When I left the bar I asked the friendly host for a manager? In the 2-3 hours I was there no manager ever came to talk to me! How does the Landing tolerate poor behavior from their staff? It was obvious he was unhappy from before I got there. Why did this Grinch allow me to eto clean the counter? Why did this rude man not say to me, "I do not have a cleaning rag but I will flag someone down to clean the countertop." I proceeded to dine at the restaurant with my friends. I was not about to let some angry man ruin my brunch. Why did this miserable man not ever come and give an apology? I urge management to play back the video even if there is no audio you can clearly things were not right. It was between 1:15-1:30 on 12/14. How disappointing for such an establishment that has potential to be excellent with the right employees. read more

My wife and I were excited to try out The Landing for what seemed like a really cool spot for future dates, but after leaving, the food felt overpriced and lacking in quality that I've seen at some of the other spots in Downtown Melbourne. When you get there you park in the parking garage at the Hotel Melby and make your way to the hotel lobby and up the elevator to get to the rooftop restaurant. The decor is more of an urban industrial look through the lobby, which was pretty cool. Stepping into the restaurant was exciting with the really nice views of downtown, the causeway, and even the beach if you sit in the right spot. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but you could tell that they were still figuring out some of the logistics to make things run smoothly. As they are a new establishment, none of that was unexpected going into it. There is both indoor and outdoor dining here, but what sets it apart is the views (so definitely recommend sitting outside.) Everything was updated and modern and gave the feel of really upscale dining. The best thing about their menu were the drinks. My wife ordered "the melby," which tasted like Capri-Sun and came with a flower that makes your mouth numb if you chew it. Prices on drinks were typical of other establishments in the area, maybe a little bit over what I've seen elsewhere. The reason for the three-star review was for their food menu. Albeit we didn't try everything on the menu, it was all above the normal price range for the quality and quantity of food you get. My wife ordered the landing burger, and while tasty, it wasn't anything spectacular. It came with fries which were good, but again, nothing spectacular (at $15, it wasn't terrible.) I ordered the grilled skirt steak which had decent flavor, but was really really oily. But, the portion was so small and came with no sides, that I felt like I was overpaying at $25. (I told my wife I could've gone to Publix and made the same thing at home, but better, for half the price.) When we finished, we didn't hate the food, but we didn't love it either. We skipped dessert because we weren't impressed by the main course and didn't want to pay for more of the same. Like I mentioned above, the best part about this place was the view (and the staff was nice as well.) Would I go back? Yes, I would go back and give the menu another shot. If other items on the menu just offer more of the same from this experience, then I would stick to getting a drink and enjoying the view for a date night with beautiful views. read more

The view of downtown Melbourne is nice to look at while you're eating. You can also sit by a fire pit, which is nice when it's cooler outside. The food was really good! No complaints. I went here for lunch on a weekend with reservations at 1245. Got there a little early and waited until 110 to be seated. My fiancé ordered a spicy. Loopy mary at the bar, it took 20 minutes to get the drink. He got the drink minutes before we were sat down. Server was very nice and tried very hard to make the experience better. She asked is anyone had helped us yet, and when we said so she said she would help us. It took 10 minutes to get a waitress/menu. All the food was severely overcooked. We let the waitress know and she apologized and comped one meal. Overall the view was nice! And the server was great. The food, the wait and the overall experience contributed to the 2 stars. Started with dinner... Party of 10 asked for outside seating and was confirmed. They gave our table to another party!. So we waited and got a table inside. Food was par at best. Shrimp and grits were put in a food processor, not even small chunks of Shrimp. Steaks were overcooked and appeared to be frozen. Ceasar salad was a regular salad with a whole anchovie on top. I have been here a few times since they opened. While they don't offer very many options as far as food that appeals to me they do have good drinks. Sometimes service can be a bit slow because they are often times very busy. They are located downtown and the view is absolutely beautiful especially at night time. Waited over 30 mins to the point that we were so hungry that we just got up and left. Literally waited for over an hour just to get coffee, once our server took our coffee order we never saw her again. I understand that when we got there they were a bit packed but after we got seated it died down, it seemed as if they only had one server for the entire restaurant. You will never ever receive prompt service if your on business travel so your dining credits always go to waste, unless you have 90min for breakfast or 2hrs to wait around for dinner. the menu is absolute pretentious snobby garbage, no local flare no custom salad or custom burger options a staple for any hotel attached establishments. the staff are obvious overworked and I've walked out multiple times after being seated and not being served or acknowledged. this place constantly drags down the ratings of the hotel which the melby hotel is pretty solid. The hotel is aware of how bad this place is and apparently changes are in the works. I cannot wait for the generic response from this establishment. While I was in town, I was assured this was the place to stay at. However, based on what I had going on, I did not stay as a hotel guest, but I visited the Rooftop. On 10/16, we came up to the Rooftop around 9:00 P.M. When we got off the elevator; we walked into what I will call a bar area. As we got closer to the doors, there was a stand, but nothing on the metal stand at all (This will come back to in a few). So we walked past the bar, looking around to see if we wanted to sit at the bar or a table. While standing just outside the bar, looking out, a server came up to us, asking, "Do you want a table, or are you just up here for the view." This took us back as we have never been immediately accosted in that form ever before. We told the server that we wanted a table, and she told us we had to see the hostess, the metal stand. We went back to the podium, where there were no markings at all or even a sign, and we saw a hostess. We asked for a table, and he walked us over to the east side of the outbar area. She proceeds to sit us away from the wall into a low table that you couldn't even remotely see over the wall. I inquired if we could have a table against the ledge; I mean, it was after nine and in Melbourne on a Sunday night. The hostess seemed confused and unsure what to do. She did walk over to another server and told him we wanted to sit at the table that was empty. The server said, "I guess as long as no one else is coming." Uuuumm, this is Sunday in Melbourne; who could you possibly be expecting that would suddenly pack this place. The hostess came over to us and told us she had to have it cleaned, so we stood out and waited and waited. This went on for over four minutes while we stood there. We were able to see the male server and the female server by the register looking directly at us. We decided to leave after the time went by as it was not even remotely worth our time or money. If you want arrogance and an establishment that could care about who you are, then this is the place for you. I can tell you; we have status along with who we were with. Never have I been treated that way by a Hilton property. So if you go, do not say I didn't warn you about how you will be treated. read more

i sent a review on google already but decided to take the time to create another one on here just so others don't experience the same thingy family and I had to go through. My family and I (party of 3) came in to have brunch on Sunday December 7th. It was one of the worse experiences I have ever encountered . It was around 8:45-9am. We walked in and there were two waitresses standing by the bar area. We must have stood there for about 5 minutes until the older waitress finally turned around and instead of seating us, told the hostess to seat us and and walked away and rolled her eyes. We sat down and my husband and I can hear the two waitresses arguing about who is taking care of us. Made us feel extremely uncomfortable. We sat at one of the higher tables outside and waited about 15 minutes from them to decide who is serving us. The older lady , whom had glasses and tied up blonde hair came up to us. She sounded frustrated and disgusted to assist us. Our coffee was cold. The manager named Mandy came by and asked how everything was, and we told her what had happened. She basically took over and made us feel soo welcomed. When the food arrived it was delicious. We ordered the eggs Benedict, chix and waffles and the honey crispy sandwich and it was amazing. The rest of the service was average if not horrible. I told Mandy that if I could keep her as our potential server I would love that but she stated that she will make sure we enjoy the rest of our time here. She deserves a damn raise working with staff that is disgusting like that. As we left the hostess said goodbye to us with a friendly smile but the taller, skinny waitress with a mask on would soon end that smile we had. When we walked passed her I heard her mumbling curse words and stating to the other incompetent server that she wants to blow her brains out.???? Please FIRE those two waitresses. You have such an amazing establishment with an amazing Manager that has a staff that should be working at Mcdonnalds or some kind of fast food place. I will return only to request Mandy to take care of us or give us a waitress/waiter that actually cares of people.. I am requesting to get in touch with anyone that is higher up to fix this situation by the way... you should put the hostess as a waitress and FIRE the other two . That poor manager was running around bartending, and taking care of all the tables because the other two were in lala land.
