Shady charging practices - I booked a full set up classic lashes online and entered my card to hold the reservation. The services said it would cost $99 or $134 depending on the experience of the technician. I arrived and got my lashes done with the one with more expertise and they gave me the heads up it would be $35 dollars extra... makes sense, that is what the website said. When I went to pay instead of letting me see the amount they asked how much tip I wanted to leave I said 20% and they charged my card. I asked for the invoice and they said they would send, they did not. On my statement the charge was for $190.80!!! I called and they told me that because it wasn't my first time there the price was higher, that the "encourage" me to pay the monthly subscription. 1. I assumed the price of the booking was what I would pay (plus tip) but they charged me MORE without warning 2. No pricing anywhere to be seen other than the $99 for the classic set which was on the wall 3. This people penalize returning customers, when I called them, they told me that they charge MORE each visit and that I was being charged $159 What kind of business lies about the actual price of the service ... they just charged my credit card whatever they wanted On top of it all the lashes didn't last a full week Stay away from these chain, they are murky. read more

I've visited the 23rd Ave Lash Lounge twice for two different services and both times were very disappointing. I got an eyelash perm/ lift and my right eye had been curled too far from my lash line and the curl was very short and wasn't flattering. Secondly, I went to get my eyebrows threaded and I wish I had saved my money and did them at home. The woman threading wasn't able to grab any hairs in the middle of my brows and ran the thread across my skin, plucking up maybe one hair on each pass. Additionally, while threading my brows she kept running the thread into my eyelashes and took off the mascara on the tips of my lashes, I was scared it was gonna rip my lashes out. Those who work there have been very kind, although it seems they are inexperienced. I will not be returning again. read more

Nightmare experience here, terrible customer service and management along with a botched lash lift and tint. :( I recently got a lash lift and tint and it resulted in some lashes poking so far up they caused discomfort, and the overall appearance was mismatched and botched. They overprocessed and fried my lashes, this is not supposed to happen with a lash lift. The tinting process was also botched, leaving dye smeared all over my eyelids. Throughout the procedure, I also had considerable discomfort and stinging, which I brought to the attention of the lash technician. My concerns were dismissed, and I was told that the stinging was normal???? I had never dealt with this getting a lash lift. The biggest reason I am writing this bad review as I understand one bad treatment is not the fault of lash lounge itself but their response to me asking for a resolution to this botched lift and tint. The salon is unwilling to provide a full refund and is not offering me any solution to fix the current state of my lashes, I was told to buy products from them or use castor oil. After persistent effort they provided me a half refund, but would not give me a full refund, insisting they do not provide monetary refunds. Their disregard for customer satisfaction and lack of accountability are evident. The damage to my lashes has left me feeling insecure and uncomfortable, completely opposite to the feeling I had hoped to achieve following the procedure. Years ago before COVID, I started getting my lashes done in Salem. They always seemed to fall out fast, and made my eyes squinty (I was getting the volume set). I decided it was WAY too expensive to go in every two to three weeks to get them filled and bridged the gaps with mascara. It took FOREVER for them to grow back to their original length. Fast forward to current year. I finally made the move to Portland and was exploring the neighborhood when I stumbled upon the Lash Lounge. It took me about 7 months, but I did some more research into lashes (as I assumed they had evolved since I got them), and decided to take the plunge again. I am SO glad i did, too. Shocked at how much I love the lash tinting and lift service - I don't normally wear much makeup besides mascara, and getting my lashes done has removed that need! Honestly it's an okay lash salon but I wouldn't say the best. For the prices you are being charged, I would expect MUCH more. But if you're looking for a clean salon with a comfortable chair for the 2 hours you will be laying there getting your eyelashes done, come here. I specifically came in because I saw the special for $89 natural set, my sisters wedding was the next day and I just figured why not. I was scheduled for a 12:15 and I came 15 minutes late, called to let the salon know and they said not to worry (so thank you for that!) being a mom of two kiddos and then trying to find parking on 23rd Avenue on a Friday, it was a stressful day but thankfully they still took me in. Talked with my stylist about what I wanted and I specifically said that I wanted the classic full set but with slightly longer lashes (14-15 mm) and a more centered look. She asked me what curl and I believe I got the d curl. She never said if the pricing was different on them. Almost 2 hrs later my lashes were done, again they look fine but I've had better sets but for the $89 special and a lash stylist that I didn't know seemed like a good deal. At the register though I came to find out that my stylist decided to go with the "dramatic" classic full set ... an extra $25!! She never asked me during the process if it was okay to charge an extra $25 for a different lash style. So this is how they make money lol. In that moment I was taken back, like WOW, but I didn't make a big deal because what was I supposed to do say "take them off give me all natural classic set" ?! And they expect a tip of course so my full set that was supposed to be $89 was now $114 because this is how they make more money. Don't forget I had to add $20 tip for my visit, making a grand totally now of $134. Did I get my lashes done - yes. Are they already falling out like no other and it's been only a week - yes. Did I pretty much get scammed in a sneaky way - yes. :) I've noticed that the manager of this location really likes to reply and defend himself on everyone's reviews!. EDIT: after I received a response on my review, I contacted the company, only to be told there is no way to contact the general manager who keeps making these decisions. DO NOT GO HERE. I went in for a full set the other day, I was super excited since I have travel plans coming up. I got my lashes done and noticed they weren't exactly what I asked for, but I'm not one to say anything if it's purely aesthetics. I paid $169 plus 15% gratuity (total was about $200) only to get home and find chemical burns on my eyes, plus my eyes hurt to close because some lashes were applied too close to the lash line, and they started falling out within 2 hours. I take good care of my personal items and upkeep anything that needs care. I didn't get them wet, I don't sleep on my face, and no oils were used. I went back in and a different stylist fixed the ones that caused problems, as well as filled in the spots missing. I was very happy with the results, UNTIL I got home. By the time I went to sleep they had almost all fallen out. By the next day none of my fill on the left eye remained. I asked for a refund, and was told they don't normally do those and that the general manager would contact me. I receive a call back NOT FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER, but the same person I talked to at the front desk. They tell me that I'm not a "lash candidate" meaning my lashes can't support the weight, which is completely false. I have had my lashes done about 3 times before, and never had this issue. I went to this place as I'm new to portland and was looking forward to having higher end lashes for the first time. They refused to give me a refund and now I'm $200 down the drain. Don't let the good reviews convince you otherwise. That was my mistake. read more

SAVE your time and $$$!! I tried Lash Lounge for the first time yesterday and my experience was VERY poor. It wasn't until I was on the lash table with my eyes taped that I was told they only give you 25 lashes per eye for a 60 minute fill. So I agreed to upgrade to a volume fill so it would look full enough....$125 later (with tip) I left looking like I already needed a fill. Volume lashes they were certainly not! Terrible and sparse! When I called the manager today to see about a remedy she was of ZERO help....she offered to have me come back in and PAY even MORE to get a few more lashes put on. She was indifferent and had no customer service skills. Sadly she missed her opportunity to do what her job is, assist the customer and help make their experience a positive one. They really should be telling everyone who books with them upfront about their 25 lashes per eye fill.... BEFORE they waste their time coming in! But they won't because they know that any clients who know anything about lashes wouldn't even walk through their door. I know I sure would not have. Again a big WASTE of my time and money! AVOID!! Called to book an appointment over phone , the process was kind of cumbersome with multiple people taking the same details and then you have to pay over the phone etc., but I finally found a slot for the same day . I walk in and was told to wait before the aesthetician would be free .Laura ,who did my eyebrows was sweet and very professional . She kept checking with me if I liked the shape and took my feedback word by word . I appreciate the responsiveness but something about the whole look of the brows did not feel right . After a while I just had to stop as I was getting late for another appointment and this was taking a while . I would definitely go to her again but with more time at hand as this felt like a longer session than I am used to for threading . Prices are reasonable , the premises is clean and they are following the mask mandates strictly . I've never gotten lash extensions before so it's hard to compare my experience with anywhere else. My appointment was with Riley who was a trainee. It was a great promo price so I thought I would give it a try knowing that the appointment could last longer than normal. He was pretty efficient and got it done in less than 2 hours. I was so comfortable I fell asleep during the process while listening to soothing music. I came back for my fill and had pretty good retention and the fill appointment was a bit over an hour. Making the appointment on the spot was easy and I never waited more than a few minutes in the lounge. The facility was clean and temperature was just right. read more

I have been going to the Lash Lounge every 2-6 months since early September of 2020. I just started thinking of how much I had enjoyed having my lashes tinted in the past and I googled lash tinting and found them. I was out and about already and they were able to fit me in that same afternoon. I got there and it's a very cute, comfortable and well maintained shop. I think there are about 9 stations, each station is sort of a lounging bed. They are down both sides of the space, separated from each other by curtains but open to the aisle. There are products on display at the front of the building and a nice sink area and then a complete bathroom (which is stocked with hygiene products and hand lotion, so thoughtful!) at the rear. This shop is in the Alphabet neighborhood and surrounded by a vibrant mix of businesses, little shops & restaurants mainly. It's my favorite neighborhood to walk around. The first time I went, I got there and lay on the platform in front of my stylist. There was some pleasant small talk but mainly it's pretty quiet with light music in the background. It's not like going to the hairdresser, in terms of talking, there are parts where you have to be quiet and rather still. It's such a relaxing, peaceful experience that I almost always fall asleep. It's lovely! A very nice way to recharge your battery. The first time I went, I got a lash lift and tint (I now usually get an eyebrow tint and threading as well). I thought my eyes looked great and I was really happy with my appearance. I was even happier when they told me that since a student had done my work, it was going to be significantly less expensive, I think half price. They do extensions as well but that's not the look I'm going for so I just get the aforementioned services. I've gone back again and again, sometimes with a regular stylist, sometimes requesting a student if that's what my budget calls for. I think they do an excellent job! The one time I wasn't pleased with how it turned out, they had me come back and redid it at no charge. It's a very inviting space, comfy and everyone is pleasant. I should mention that I use a wheelchair to get around. It's an accessible business and they've always made me feel welcome. My chair folds up and goes at the end of the stylist's station. I waited for 30 minutes for the manager to tell me that they could not reschedule my service as the stylist was apparently ill and I was SOL. It was a 45 min drive for me to get there and I made an apt for first thing in the morning with fewer people because I am immunocompromised. I was also told that all of the stylists would be wearing masks and none of them were. I didn't feel their apologies were sincere and they could have done a lot more considering all of the effort I made. If I were in their position I definitely would have offered some form of a discount but nada. I am also out money for parking that they again did not offer to reimburse.
