Had an ok experience here. It's a bar with some tables. Sat forever waiting for someone to come see us. Finally got up and asked someone if we could get some menus. The guy apologized and said he didn't see us. Not a big deal. But by the time we walked in till the time we got food was quite a while. We ordered the pizza because it seemed like something they specialized in. I ordered the carnivore in the personal size and my buddy ordered the omnivore. Both were mediocre. Mine was really wet on the bottom. Not from oil, but like there was water or moisture under the crust. Because of that the crust was a little soggy. Doesn't mean everything there is like that but our experience was just ok. read more

We weren't sure about this place because it truly is a dive bar. You know the kind of place, metal chairs, old booths, lots of old record albums on the wall and a bit seedy (in a good way). The bartender was great. Stephan made us the best drinks and he was super kind and helpful. We watched the food come out and WOW it looked so good. Next visit we would probably go in for a drink, order a pizza and take it back to our room. The food looks really good. The place doesn't look like much on the outside but on the inside it is decorated fun . This place is down to earth and the staff are so friendly. You will not be disappointed here . This place was amazing. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger that was to die for. My wife is allergic to wheat yet she is willing to endure the stomach ache for this burger! The burger is cooked to medium rare then placed in the bread stuffed full of cheese and toppings and melted together in the oven to finish it off. Wow!! She had the fish and chips it was good as well but nothing like the burger. Drinks were good the owner hung out and chatted with us. If you're in town go! read more

Re-opened in the spot that used to be Roger's Zoo. I haeard so many great things about the pizzas at Roger's Zoo and that the Liberty Pub serves similar pizzas, so I came down here the first chance I got with a group of friends. When I arrived (around 7 pm), several large groups were seated and enjoying the new pub. According to my friends, the new owners have cleaned up the place...A LOT! This place place is a bar (with a makeshift stage) on one side, and a sit down restaurant on the other. Nightly food and drink specials are written on the wall. Their menu did include pizzas in addition to the usual bar fare. I opted for an order of onion rings, iced tea, and a small "low tide" pizza (oysters and pesto sauce). While I waited for my order, my firend's order of garlic fries came. I have had garlic fries before, so I know what they were trying to achieve, but this came no where near that. The fries were skin-on and thin cut, that were sprinkled with crushed garlic and parsley after they came out of the deep fryer. There was no mixing to allow the flavors to blend together, so in the end the fries didn't really taste of garlic, just dried fried potatoes. Next came my order of onion rings, just looking at them, they were more disappointing than the garlic fries. There were maybe 10 onion rings and they were all fired to a dark brown, aka burnt! At last, my pizza arrived. The small pizza was about 10 inches in diameter and cut into quarters. Thankfully, the pizza was good, it was VERY garlicky and the crust was soft. The garlic and the pesto sauce paired very well, but I couldn't really taste the oysters. Service was below average, there were a few times when the waitress walked by, seeing my empty glass, and kept on walking. The final bill for my dinner of ice tea, onion rings (burnt and small), and a small specialty pizza came out to $21.50! Ouch! All with mediocre service, talk about poor value. Was the pizza good? Yes, it was, but not good enough for me to forget about everything else about my visit. read more

A very uppity environment for a business that serves pizza and beer. Always seem to get unwelcoming looks upon entering. Probably because my husband and I are in our late 20's, early 30's and everyone in there is normally 40+. Pizza is a little overrated but its not bad. We decided to try this place out last week, we ordered a pizza and waited for an hour and a half to get our food!! There were only 3 other tables, food should NEVER take this long. They told us multiple times our order should be right up and we continued to wait. The pizza and staff was subpar. I wouldn't trust the reviews on this place. It's not worth the wait or the food. We stopped here on a trip to Coos Bay this past week. We happened to stop in on Wednesday and were treated to live Celtic music. Great music and the food was awesome. Customer service was excellent. We will definitely stop again on our next trip through Coos Bay. read more

I have tried to go there several times in the past few years. Why I don't know. There usually are no seats available. When there are, the service is atrocious. While the food may have good flavor, for what little of it there is. Poor value for the price. Their attitude is just as most in the Coos Bay/North Bend area's, if you don't like it, leave. Choices are very limited around here, thus the excuse I presume for lack of good service. I guess I keep trying to go there because of the few places to go. The Liberty Pub in North Bend, Oregon, is an old style pub and local hangout. Inside, it is a dark space showing signs of heavy use. The chairs have torn upholstery, and most of the furniture looks like it has been bounced around a bit. What can I say? It's an Irish themed pub and shows it. It reminded us of the pubs one sees in the small towns in England and Scotland. We came because it was Wednesday night, and on Wednesday night a local group of musicians turns up to essentially hold a jam session of Celtic music. The hosts at Itty Bitty Inn recommended the place strongly, so we decided to give it a try. We were glad we did. We ordered Irish coffee which they served to my specifications, and we split a large and truly excellent meat calzone. The calzone took a while to arrive as it is not something they yank out of a freezer and heat in a microwave, but is made and baked on site. The Liberty Pub also served what looked like excellent pizza. (I don't know how true this is to the Irish theme, but who cares?) The server was friendly and helpful in helping us choose, and did a great job of making our Irish coffee with the extras we specified. The rest of this review relates only to the entertainment for Wednesday nights. The Celtic musician group varies from week to week, sometimes with more, and sometimes with fewer members. On this night, there were 6 musicians and a dancer. (The dancer does not come in every week. We visited with her and I asked how the Celtic dancing was on the body, because it looked pretty high-impact. She replied that it was brutal, and that she was always injuring something, but she still loved doing it whenever she physically could, which was once or twice a month.) This night, there was one violinist, a banjo player, a drummer on a bodhran drum, a bagpipe player, an accordion player, and a banjo player. Was it the best Celtic music around? Of course not. These are local musicians out to have a good time playing music, not professional members of a Celtic band. They played with intensity and spirit, and were thoroughly enjoyable. The dancer was putting her all into her dancing, and everyone in the pub was supportive of their efforts. If we lived here, I could see The Liberty Pub on our list of regular haunts. read more

I had high hopes going in, being that this place had been suggested to me as "one of the only good spots in town for dinner". I went with my SO for a date night and ordered the hot chick pizza in the smallest, personal size (Life). Now, I like spice but this thing was absolutely covered in jalapeños, overwhelming any of the other ingredients. I wasn't really a fan of the grilled Buffalo chicken atop it either. My SO ordered the medium (Liberty) custom pizza with bacon and pepperoni, and I'm glad he shared cuz it was delish. However, premium toppings (bacon and chicken) do cost quite a bit extra. Overall I was pretty disappointed in my meal, and only finished about half of my personal pie. Some other item menus looked intriguing, such as the burger-sandwiches with patties baked in the bun, so I'd be willing to give this place another try. Was recommended this pub by the inn keeper where we were staying (Itty Bitty Inn). Went for dinner and got a hot sandwich and burger....AMAZING! It's a little divy but not in a bad way. Friendly staff and great food! If we every drive thru North Bend again we will be stopping here. read more

We live in Colorado so we know pubs... and this is a fabulous place. My husband found the restaurant on Yelp... I wasn't sure I wanted to go there but I am so glad we did. We had these great "egg rolls" and the Omnivore pizza was perfect. It's all made there... the crust is perfect... with more meat than one ever sees on a pizza. The owners were just what one would expect at a great pub (soon to be an institution in Coos Bay)... conversationalists and superb chefs. Perfect. And, their staff were so dedicated. So pleasantly surprised!!! In town for one night for work. Scouring yelp for anything that didn't look barely a step up from folding chairs and a bar made for 3 people. Saw The Liberty, and liked the look of the tower bar. When I saw it in person from across the street, I will admit, I was concerned! What I experienced once I got in was such a pleasant surprise!! Beer and wine selection were awesome!!! The bartender Ethan, took the time to describe EVERYTHING, made the special (chili con carne) sound amazing, incredible knowledgeable about not only the beers available, but also about the individual breweries! Top that with a traditional Irish music session, and my night was made. That'll teach me.....don't judge a bar by it's front door!!!
