Spent the 4th of July weekend in Dewey Beach and was in need of some good greens. Lighthouse is a new restaurant that just opened on the water, the views are absolutely beautiful and the majority of the restaurant sits outside. Three of us ordered the Cobb salad and all thought it was excellent, the serving size was also massive. Great place to eat. It was beautiful out by the bay at sunset time. The food we got was delicious and served quickly after ordering. We were told the salmon is one of the favorites, and it was definitely one of the best things my boyfriend had to eat while we were on vacation. It was served on top of rice and broccoli, and the seasoning from the salmon went on both making them taste really good. The atmosphere is pretty loud since you're outside and by the bar, so if you are hoping to talk over dinner this may not be the place for you. read more

HUGE shout out to Taylor Knox, he played live music the night we went and he was unreal!! Honestly some of the best live music we've heard in a long time and made the night! Food was great, staff was so sweet and helpful. Accommodated everything we needed. They were very responsive. The crab cake sandwich was delicious - all crab! The tuna wrap was delicious. my party of 4 had a 45 minute wait, which wasn't the problem. They only give patrons a 5 minute grace period if you request a table. mind you, the closest thing to do in the town is about 3 blocks away, so you'll be gone about 30 mins regardless. they do not tell you that you only have 5 minutes once they text you. we also were there on time and had to wait 1 minute (literally) before they talked to us, which meant that our table was forfeited. imo, they need to inform patrons of the grace period, especially when the wait is over 30 minutes. read more

This restaurant just recently opened, after a fire destroyed the restaurant previously in its place. I was surprised to see it had never been reviewed, given how wonderful our experience here was! We ate dinner here our last night staying in Dewey. The location is beautiful: behind the Hyatt hotel, on a pier overlooking the bay. At sunset, it's just gorgeous. The place was quite packed when we went, and we had to wait a while, typical for restaurants in Dewey in the summer. Our large group had to split up, which we were fine with. The bar was very lively, and there was live music. The seating was mostly outdoors, although the bar was indoors (but open air). In terms of food, the appetizers we ordered were honestly the highlight: the crab pretzel and the Mexican street scallops! Both were super tasty. For my main, I had the crab cake sandwich: good, but not as memorable as the starters. My family got the cobb salad, the burger, and the chicken sandwich, of which, the chicken sandwich was probably the least favorite, but everything was good. The menu is pretty varied, and has some nice looking, interesting options: it's more elevated than the typical "bar and grille" style restaurant that you find all over Dewey, but it also has those standard, accessible options. Overall, maybe the best food we ate all trip, and certainly the most scenic setting. read more

I went to the Lighthouse several times last Summer. This place is disgusting and dirty. You can smell it when you walk in and it's an open air place. If it's remotely busy go ahead and look into the kitchen. If you do you will never eat here again. The food is nothing special anyway... simple Nacho's and some salads. Food service chicken tenders. The table tent for the condiments was even disgusting on the rickety table. Staff was nice. Summer jobs I guess. read more

Excellent drinks and food with even better service! Our bartender, Chris truly stood out as one of the best bartenders in the area. He was so personable and hilarious. It is evident he is a hard worker and such an asset to the establishment. The margs and queso nachos were delicious as well! Giving this restaurant three starts because I have dined here before about two years ago and was satisfied with my experience. However, I was quite upset with my most recent, short-lived visit here. There was a group of 14 of us for my sister's bachelorette party. I had called weeks in advanced and was told that they do not take reservations, but to either come for an early dinner around 5:30, or a late dinner around 8, and to arrive 30 minutes before we'd like to eat. I called again the day of, and they said they would definitely be able to accommodate us. WELL GUESS WHAT HAPPENED. They could accommodate us.....if we waited 2 hours!!!! I almost had to go Karen mode on them! But I didn't. We politely left and went to another restaurant. I was very disappointed because this is a great restaurant with a great view, but they should tell their staff not to be a LIAR and tell people they'll be able to accommodate if they can't actually stand by that. We were excited to try The Lighthouse last night! However, the views far exceed the food and odd policies. My husband ordered The Cuban sandwich, and requested no mustard on the sandwich. Our server informed us there are absolutely no substitutions or alterations permitted due to everything already being pre-made... WHAT?!? Even THE WORST of the worst fast food restaurants will make special requests to order. After hearing this, I was afraid to order the Cobb Salad because I would request no eggs... so I opted for the Kale Berry Salad instead. I asked for a side of ranch dressing after the salad came out with a completely different dressing than was described on the menu... after a awhile our server said the kitchen lost all their ranch dressing and they are looking for it.... Huh?!?! Our server was very nice and clearly frustrated and embarrassed by the things that were out of his control. There are SO MANY amazing restaurants in Rehoboth and Dewey... if Lighthouse is going to survive, the kitchen is going to need to step up their game. read more

Great views and right on the water. Good beer selection and always cold. Servers are young. The put effort in each of the dozen times we stopped in since August. Cuban with pulled pork is always on target. I love the scallop app (always excellent), but, diver scallops? Really? Don't lie to me, chef. Wings are always great. Fish and chips once had mahi mahi. Not cool. Ask which fish before ordering. Open all year, and that makes us happy! read more

Have to say after loving the setting, seemingly good service and good food...have to rate this place a ZERO! When asking for a drink with their rail vodka, the bartender said "Tito's" and I said ok if that's your rail vodka. The next bartender I ordered from said no, Svedka is our rail vodka. So when we got our check...ONE Tito vodka drink (not a martini) was $12. A rail Svedka was $8....still very expensive even at the beach. But the first bartender blatantly did a bait and switch for the extra $, no doubt thinking we wouldn't notice or call them out. Therefore...highly DO NOT RECOMMEND the Lighthouse. They corrected the bill, but this WAS NOT an honest mistake. read more

But after eating freezing cold tuna tacos that seemed to come right out of the fridge, I came on Yelp to see what others are saying. I see someone mentioned that everything is pre-made - my experience confirms that this the case. To be honest it didn't taste bad but at $16 for 2 tacos ($19 with old fries) I think they can afford to cook the tuna fresh. Everything else was mediocre at best. Very beautiful restaurant on the water. Interior is very well decorated and the ambiance is nice, bar in the middle, televisions, windows all around showing the water. I ordered the nachos and they were okay 7.5/10. Me and my party were there around 2/3pm and we noticed that every single table was filled- probably 50 people. There was one waiter that was trying his hardest to assist all the tables. The wait for the food was about an hour and with some not getting their food- no fault to the waiter. I would def recc this place if there wasn't so much stress on employees who work here. read more

I had heard about the Lighthouse at Dewey Beach and while driving down to Ocean City MD to visit friends I decided to stop and see what the fuss was about. Once I found parking I was very pleasantly suprised. It's located behind/beside the Hyatt hotel on the pier overlooking the bay. It was late afternoon and the location is perfect. But the best part was the friendly service and the good food. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and a shrimp appitizer with my favorite - Old Bay. Both were very good and the prices were very reasonable. Two beers and a fantastic sunset later I was on my way but plan to make this a regular stop. read more

4 Stars. First night arrival at Dewey Beach, came here for Taco Toss Friday and it was great. Friday night's they have a deck party with a great view of the bay. $1 tacos from 4-9pm, also have hot dogs, nachos and queso, taquitos (beans and rice filling), and beef sliders (2 for $3). So you can get your fill on. Also $2.50 beers. They had an orange crush station with fresh squeezed OJ. I missed out on those. There's a dj playing music. Its a very relaxing, cool party vibe. We got there sort of late at 8pm. By 9:30pm, the place really thins out after the Taco Toss is over. This is a great place to start off the weekend with friends. Can't wait to go back, but want to get there earlier next time. read more

We got Oysters Rockefellar that had been sitting out cause the cheese and toppings were so cold that we sent them back to get reheated. The wings were pretty average and the menu was rather limited at least for lunch. Our waiter was great though and super friendly. Loved it! Great food, awesome view write on the bay. The only things I didn't like were the cocktail and tartar sauces,the just had a weird taste. The fried shrimp is fantastic and only $12 on Sunday! The fries taste fresh cut. The crab dip is perfect, loaded worth crab, lightly seasoned, not too much cheese. We have a place in Bethany and decided to try this place in Dewey. We love seafood as we have roots in New England and so we ordered the steamers and fish and chips. The steamers were good though portion was small. Initially the cod fish looked good, batter was light and cod was plump however as we bit into the fish we started to notice a bad odor. The odor resembled a cleaning solution that you would use to wipe down counters. We hoped it wasn't bleach we were smelling. After bringing it to the attention of the waiter she asked if we wanted to send it back....not sure why you would have to ask and not sure who made the decision but she offered us dessert or glass of house wine to make up for the "issue." Needless to say, very disappointing and won't be back. Too many other options. read more

For decades this is been the place to go for Friday night happy hour. It's called the taco toss. Just a view of the following sun setting is enough to make it a fabulous evening but friends and homemade orange and grapefruit crushes make it even better experience. Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday night. I arrived on Dickinson Street hoping to meet up with some friends who were already inside the Rudder. Not possible. The line for the Rudder stretched out back towards Coastal Highway, and one of the seasonal police officers said the wait was longer than half an hour. No problem. I turned away from the Rudder to look at the entrance to the Lighthouse; as is usually the case, there was no line at all. I texted my friends, asking them to join me at the Lighthouse as I entered the bar. It was crowded, but I quickly made my way to the inside bar (only one person was tending the outside bar, so I made the mistake of thinking the inside bar would have faster service). Three people were tending the inside bar, but as I would soon find out, not one of them was competent. I got a spot right next to the cash register near the dance floor, and there I waited as the bartender on that end floundered. He struggled to use the POS system, he looked confused as other patrons ordered drinks, and, worst of all, he was totally inconsistent in taking drink orders. It was not "first-come, first-served." Now, I could have been more aggressive and yelled at the hapless bartender, as many around me were doing, but I wanted to see how long I would stand there before he would look up from the POS system, see me, and take my order. Well, after about forty minutes, I gave up and went back out onto Dickinson Street. read more

We went in on a cold Monday night and there weren't many people however Brianna (server) did an excellent job with her personality to warm things up for our family. Her timing was just right for our food and the drinks came out quickly. I ordered the seafood platter which was ample and had nice flavor. The cocktail sauce had a slight smokiness to it. The mussels were a full pound with only a couple of broken shells and the broth had a nice amount of spice to it. One of the better ones we had overall during the week. The Philly on the kids menu was huge and my 3 year old didn't get half way through it LOL. Thank you Brianna for giving us one of the best service nights in Dewey Beach. We got to the Lighthouse for lunch about noon on Thursday. Standing at the host stand with his back to us was a man who's name we later found out was Dan. What a useless employee this man is. Dan would have rather we fell into the ocean then possibly get us a table. After getting a table, service was slow but bearable. Food was hit or miss. The clams were so salty I could only eat a few. The blue crab and cheese fries were delicious. Cobb salad was fresh with good ingredients but absolutely horrible dressing. Why don't restaurant owners realize that homemade ranch is cheaper and so much better then the bottled glue? Next year on my yearly vacation to Dewey Beach I will not be coming here. More because of Dan's arrogant, dismissive, insulting attitude then the food. Don't waste your time here. read more

I wish I had taken a picture of my grilled cheese... It was a lobster grilled cheese and two of my favorite foods are (take a wild guess).... And it was cheddar cheese; very important. The outside seating is really nice. Inside it was very busy and I'm glad we got a table outside for that reason and also because the view was very pretty since you're on the water and there's a beach area where you can hang out too. Hi run-on sentence. Anyway, I definitely look forward to having that grilled cheese again. And the muscles were good too. I got those as an appetizer and the two things I ordered filled me up just the right amount. Can't comment on what it's like in the winter. I'm probably not going to go when it's cold, but it's a great summer spot! read more
