Amazing food, beautiful views, easy access from your boat when you dock. Service is amazing!

I really wanted to enjoy this place. The setting certainly gives it every opportunity to succeed. Sitting along the marina with boats gently coming and going, The Lighthouse has all the ingredients for an afternoon you don't want to end. Unfortunately, our experience never quite found its sea legs. We arrived with a party of five and walked up to the host stand where several young employees greeted us... sort of. We let them know there were five of us. They nodded. That was it. No "What's your name?" No "We'll get you on the list." No "It'll be about a 30-minute wait." Just... nodding. As more guests started filing in behind us, I finally walked back up and asked if they needed our name or phone number. The group looked at one another like I'd asked them to solve a calculus equation. Eventually someone located a scrap of receipt paper and a marker to write our information down. I'm choosing to believe it was someone's first day because otherwise, it was a genuinely confusing start. The patio was bustling, but considering Texas had apparently opened the Gates of Hades that afternoon, our group requested indoor seating. A plus? There was only one table seated inside and they were just having drinks. We thought it would be a very short wait. About thirty minutes later, one of the hosts finally asked, "Would y'all be okay sitting inside?" Our entire table answered in unison: "YES." Once seated, things improved... at least initially. The dining room overlooking the marina is comfortable, with large windows that let the view do most of the decorating. The televisions were on without dominating the room, making it easy for our family to settle in and enjoy something we hadn't done in years--simply sit around one table together and catch up. Thankfully, we had plenty to talk about because the food took a while to arrive. My brother and I decided to split The Shipwreck, the restaurant's signature sandwich. On paper, it sounded incredible: fried chicken, fried cream cheese, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, homemade blueberry jam, and an order of their truffle fries. That's a sandwich that practically dares you not to order it. Unfortunately, reality didn't quite match the menu. The biggest disappointment was the "homemade blueberry jam." It wasn't jam. It tasted exactly like canned blueberry pie filling. That one ingredient completely threw off the sandwich for me. (thankfully, just in case, we had asked for it on the side) Beyond that, it was... fine. Not bad. Not memorable. Just an average fried chicken sandwich wearing a few extra accessories in hopes of becoming something special. For more than twenty dollars, I wanted something that made me think about it on the drive home. Instead, I mostly thought about how much potential it had. The truffle fries were another miss. They arrived barely warm and were cold before we made it halfway through the basket. The promised truffle flavor was faint, there were a few shavings of Parmesan, and instead of the garlic aioli listed on the menu, we were served plain mayonnaise. Meanwhile, our server proved elusive. After taking our order and delivering the food, she seemed to disappear entirely. When she finally resurfaced to greet the table beside us, we took the opportunity to ask for our check before she vanished again. To be fair, two members of our party ordered the chicken fried steak and both enjoyed it, so there were certainly bright spots on the menu. But as a whole, none of us walked away particularly impressed. It's disappointing because The Lighthouse has so much working in its favor. The location is wonderful. The view is exactly what you'd hope for on Lake Travis. The atmosphere invites you to slow down and stay awhile. Now it just needs food and service that rise to meet the setting. As for me? The Lighthouse didn't quite guide me safely to shore. Next time, I'll be looking for another place to dock in search of a better meal. read more

Spent the day at Lake Travis and decided to stop by a local spot to eat by the lake. Saw this place and it seemed like it would have good food. The service was great, the drinks were okay. The food not so good, the selection didn't seem great, decided to try the truffle fries to get a taste of their food, they definitely were not truffle fries. Most fries with shaved Parmesan, they were okay. The house margarita and mimosa also okay. It's a cute spot to sit by the water but the food was a disappointment. I made a reservation days ahead of time, had me waiting and I'm not exaggerating 8 minutes at the host stand and they were aware we were there. Waiting 20+ minutes for a pińa colada, the bartender took way too long with that . We went on a Sunday night and there wasn't that many people for her to be backed up. They definitely need more employees. Alcoholic beverages are average for the way they're crazy expensive . The inside needs to be updated & a good clean up. Food wait time is 30+ minutes, mind you NOT ALOT OF CUSTOMERS. I feel bad for the server because it's not her fault but dear lord HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES. If you're not from around here, you could possibly pass up this place and not know it's there. Once you get here in the parking lot, you will might not know where the restaurant is. You have to kind of walk over a bridge to get inside, but it's really nice once you step in and immerse yourself in a different settings than you are expecting. It's mariner themed of course. The food pretty much is very good here from the fish and chips to the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and even the hamburgers. The menu has lots of options and presentations have been spot on most of the time. The only thing I would not recommend here is the wings because they are kind of a little dry but other than that try everything else. There is a patio here with a nice view of the reservoir or Little River if you want to call it. Service is very good here depending on who you get it's between good and kind of okay but not bad until they get more than five tables at lunch time but it's not a deal-breaker here come everything here is great. read more

Came up on this restaurant and couldn't resist the outdoor seating for an early dinner on a beautiful weather afternoon. Started with baked spinach and artichoke dip which was served with tortilla chips. Dip was a staple 10 yrs ago but was very tasty today. Plenty to share and nice change from other apps. Waiter was attentive without being over the top. Plus! Entrees we shared were fish tacos served with a seasoned rice and Charo beans and A Cuban sandwich with fries. This restaurant offers beautiful views of the Colorado River along with nice homes overlooking the river. We chose to sit inside but the outdoor seating offers fans and a full bar. Our server was very sweet and one could tell she was hustling. With that said, service became almost non-existent after our food was served. We asked for lemons and extra aioli which did not make it to our table. We eventually had to get up and ask for water refills and extra lemons. Food was fine. The Squeaky Shrimp was a bit tough and the calamari needed the lemons we asked for. I will say that I love that this place has a stage for live music. I can only imagine how fun it would be to hang out and just listen to music while sipping some cocktails. read more

We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and that was no problem because we went to the bar and got a drink. We were finally seated and we had a great view of the lake. It was very beautiful. Well, we sat there and waited another 20 minutes and nobody ever came up to take our order. We tried to flag down several waitresses and waiters, and several looked at us and made eye contact, but nobody would take our order. Sad, because it looked like a really fun place and I was excited to try their food, but they apparently did not want to serve us. Will not be coming back. The restaurant has hidden charges. We made a reservation for 12 people, paid and left while not paying any attention to the bill. When nearly $625 was charged on our card, we called the next day for a breakdown and were told that our total was $408 for the food and about $33 taxes. The rest was gratuity!! Do the math, on $408 + taxes for the food, we were charged $185 gratuity !!! That is almost a whopping 50% !! How on earth is that fair? read more

We were exploring the Hill Country area last weekend and this place seemed promising for a lunch outing. We chose to sit outside and the views were nice and not so nice. Our waitress was absolutely precious and sweet. The place itself is really neat, definitely an older establishment and very large. They have a little merch section to buy souvenirs. The menu itself looks great and they have a ton of options. The kid menu is hilarious with the names. My kids got the "Nothing"... it was funny having them order. We started out with the queso and the coconut shrimp. The queso was ok, definitely hardened super fast. The coconut shrimp was actually my favorite thing we ordered. It was really tasty and the shrimp were big. My husband got the Caesar salad and I got the fish tacos. I kinda wish I would've gotten a brunch-ish item looking back. The tacos themselves had decent flavor I just didn't like that they literally fell apart and were difficult to eat as a taco. Rice was bland and a little overcooked, beans were decent. My husband's salad was good, he said there were too many crunchy stem parts of the lettuce than the leaves. Our kids liked their grilled cheese. Again service was great, but for the quality of the food on some items vs price was off. A little overpriced for normal food. The only dish worth the price that we ordered was the coconut shrimp. The Brisket Benedict was a 3/5 for me. The brisket slab didn't look very appealing and tasted pretty bland. Most Benedicts I've had usually come with more sauce, but this one barely had any. At least the potatoes were tasty and well-seasoned. Service was okay. Wasn't memorable which means it needs improvement. The food was great! I had an unbelievably delicious ruben. The meat was delicious and fell apart in your mouth like butter. The rye bread was toasted perfectly and the cabbage with thousand island added to the perfect combination. I would honestly rank this as one of my favorite rubens of all time. The only thing that was a little underwhelming was the service. Our server was a bit demanding and short with his words. I felt rushed and the place was not crowded at all. I would eat here again for the food and the views of the water but I hope to not have the same server again. read more

My favorite lakeside restaurant. They are a scratch kitchen, have super friendly service, and have a great view over the lake. They also offer boat storage, gas, a ship store, and boat rental at the marina below. My favorites include the fish tacos and summer salmon. They also frequently have live music outside. Please NO DOGS! I felt like I was eating at a Dog park. Very disappointed that DOGS are allowed at a place of dining where food and drinks are served. While planning a trip to Lake Travis one of the places we were told we must go to was The Lighthouse and I'm so glad we did!! Such a fun place. The food was delicious especially the Lighthouse queso, fish tacos and sangria margaritas!! The service was great! Jadyn was amazing. When we told her we were new there and visiting Texas so was so friendly and helped us pick the best food and drink and we were not disappointed.
