If you're not from around here, you could possibly pass up this place and not know it's there. Once you get here in the parking lot, you will might not know where the restaurant is. You have to kind of walk over a bridge to get inside, but it's really nice once you step in and immerse yourself in a different settings than you are expecting. It's mariner themed of course. The food pretty much is very good here from the fish and chips to the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and even the hamburgers. The menu has lots of options and presentations have been spot on most of the time. The only thing I would not recommend here is the wings because they are kind of a little dry but other than that try everything else. There is a patio here with a nice view of the reservoir or Little River if you want to call it. Service is very good here depending on who you get it's between good and kind of okay but not bad until they get more than five tables at lunch time but it's not a deal-breaker here come everything here is great.

Came up on this restaurant and couldn't resist the outdoor seating for an early dinner on a beautiful weather afternoon. Started with baked spinach and artichoke dip which was served with tortilla chips. Dip was a staple 10 yrs ago but was very tasty today. Plenty to share and nice change from other apps. Waiter was attentive without being over the top. Plus! Entrees we shared were fish tacos served with a seasoned rice and Charo beans and A Cuban sandwich with fries. All of the above I would come back to have again. Took home some key lime pie - delish!

Our Sunday brunch at The Lighthouse Restaurant and Lounge was nothing short of spectacular. The views from the deck were breathtaking, with a gentle breeze and live music creating the most relaxing, tranquil atmosphere--the perfect way to start the day. The brunch selection was abundant, offering something for every craving, from classic comfort dishes to lighter fare. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient, and our food arrived quickly yet perfectly prepared--hot, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The Lighthouse is truly a hidden gem where great food, serene views, and warm hospitality come together seamlessly. We left refreshed, satisfied, and already planning our return!

This restaurant offers beautiful views of the Colorado River along with nice homes overlooking the river. We chose to sit inside but the outdoor seating offers fans and a full bar. Our server was very sweet and one could tell she was hustling. With that said, service became almost non-existent after our food was served. We asked for lemons and extra aioli which did not make it to our table. We eventually had to get up and ask for water refills and extra lemons. Food was fine. The Squeaky Shrimp was a bit tough and the calamari needed the lemons we asked for. I will say that I love that this place has a stage for live music. I can only imagine how fun it would be to hang out and just listen to music while sipping some cocktails.

What a wonderful view of the water to have while dining. This is definitely an older restaurant that could use updates and a make-over. The food was ok, we had salads and French fries. Our server was nice and attentive.

Cute local spot with a airy patio overlooking the lake. We came for a weekday lunch (they also had brunch items available). We ordered the - Avocado Toast ($10.95) Migas ($13.95) Chicken Gyro ($14.95) Everything was homestyle-esque and wonderful. Awesome portions for the prices. Staff is super friendly.

We were exploring the Hill Country area last weekend and this place seemed promising for a lunch outing. We chose to sit outside and the views were nice and not so nice. Our waitress was absolutely precious and sweet. The place itself is really neat, definitely an older establishment and very large. They have a little merch section to buy souvenirs. The menu itself looks great and they have a ton of options. The kid menu is hilarious with the names. My kids got the "Nothing"... it was funny having them order. We started out with the queso and the coconut shrimp. The queso was ok, definitely hardened super fast. The coconut shrimp was actually my favorite thing we ordered. It was really tasty and the shrimp were big. My husband got the Caesar salad and I got the fish tacos. I kinda wish I would've gotten a brunch-ish item looking back. The tacos themselves had decent flavor I just didn't like that they literally fell apart and were difficult to eat as a taco. Rice was bland and a little overcooked, beans were decent. My husband's salad was good, he said there were too many crunchy stem parts of the lettuce than the leaves. Our kids liked their grilled cheese. Again service was great, but for the quality of the food on some items vs price was off. A little overpriced for normal food. The only dish worth the price that we ordered was the coconut shrimp. Cool spot, I can see they get tons of business, but from their website pictures to what you get it's just ehhh.

The Brisket Benedict was a 3/5 for me. The brisket slab didn't look very appealing and tasted pretty bland. Most Benedicts I've had usually come with more sauce, but this one barely had any. At least the potatoes were tasty and well-seasoned. Service was okay. Wasn't memorable which means it needs improvement. It was a really nice day to sit outside today for the live music and view of the lake.

Loved the view! The food was simple, but tasted great. Giant coffee cups - can't complain about that! A very quiet restaurant. Great for brunch. Service was great, and there was no wait at 11 on a Saturday. Definitely a hidden gem. If you're looking for a lakeside restaurant with a great view and are willing to make the drive, this is well worth it!

I did not it know it was legal to put this much guacamole on a burger in Texas. I could see it in California....but here?? Amazing! This burger lived up to its menu description. Great burger, great setting and view on the patio. Great service.

We love the lighthouse restaurant and our favorite server Kaiya! She is knowledgeable about the menu and serves in a timely manner. The views and the live music can't be beat, fantastic food! One of my favorite evening spots after the boat or brunch.

Three of us had arrived earlier and ordered already and our server came by to greet us two and take our drink order right away if we were ready. We were not so she gave us some time and came back. Throughout the night, she checked on us. At the end of the night, she offered to split all our checks and remembered everyone's orders and how to to accurately split the drinks. Each lady paid for an appetizer. The appetizers were all very good though I would say there are limited gluten free options. The girls shared the Tempura Cauliflower. It looked really good and apparently was also delicious but unfortunately not gluten free. The Charcuterie Board with cheese, salami, pepperoni, and smoked salmon was yummy, as were the brussel sprouts and chicken kabobs. The server said the marinade was not gluten free but I decided to eat it anyways. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well. I really liked the brussel sprouts too. The Dirty Martinis and Paper Plane were great. My friend had the Cucumber cocktail but opted for soda water instead of Sprite and she said it was really good. It looked pretty. The restaurant offers a nice vibe for hanging out and has a great selection of cocktails, wines, and food. I didn't get a chance to try an entree but I'm sure they are good. We had the best server so I'd say this place is a winner.

Caddie Shack is the member's bar for the Point Venture Golf Club…read more It is open to the general public. Yeah, you will pay about twenty cents more for each beer than do the members. You will barely notice the extra expense. * * * The Caddie Shack is probably closer to the look and feel of a British pub than are most of the fake British pubs you find in the United States. No - it is not because they serve British beer. They don't serve bitters or microbrews of any kind. They serve Bud Light and Shiners and Coronas. No it is not because they have wainscoting or tartan carpets or the British Premier League on TV. The building is prefab aluminum sheeting. The decoration is negligible. They have basketball and baseball on TV. They got air hockey, shuffleboard and pool. This place could be a military canteen on an army base. It could be a rec room in somebody's house. * * * So what's so British pub-like about a prefab aluminum shack with bar games and cans of lager beer? What makes a real British pub is the sense of community. It is THE public house in the village. There is no other common place to meet - except church. There is no McDonald's. There is no Starbucks. Where do you go to meet your mates? The local. And there is one and only one local. The minute you enter the pub - you feel like you have walked into a family living room - Because this is where the whole family is hanging out. * * * Point Venture is at the very very tippity tip of Lago Vista. It is a good seven miles of twisty-turny driving from FM 1431. It is surrounded on three sides by water. It is far from everything else in the state of Texas. So the only people who go to the Caddie Shack are the people who live in Point Venture. There is one other restaurant near the marina in Point Venture. But otherwise - the Caddie Shack is what there is. So this is where people come and this is where people hang out. Management makes a point to have music most nights. There are regular poker tournaments. (Big cash penalty if you show up late.) There are big sheets of paper on the wall marking everyone's bet on who is going to win the NFL Divisional Championship games this week and what the point spread will be. A lot of people have signed up for bets. It is not that everyone is buddy buddy with everyone else. (People aren't buddy buddy with everyone else in a British pub either). Married couples sit at their tables by themselves playing Buzztime trivia or watching what's on TV. Groups of three and four play the various bar games. Some couples have conversations, soulful or otherwise, just sitting at the bar. This is the place you go in Point Venture, if you don't want to stay home and watch Netflix. Hanging out here is as routine as hanging out in the snack bar in your dorm. * * * I am not a Point Venture kind of a guy. I could never afford the spectacular houses on the lake. Those houses look small from the road. They go down three or four stories BELOW street level. The lower lakefront levels are palatial and magnificent. I don't play golf. I don't like boats. I don't drive a pick-up truck. (The mansions have two or three.) But Caddie Shack just melds in nicely with the Point Venture lifestyle. Any place that brings people together, serves the function of bringing people together. I like the vibe and feeling of Caddie Shack. * * * Now being a twisted Austin yuppie, I can go back to pursuing my obsessions. I like eight ingredient cocktails. I like unsigned bands with songs in 8/17 time. I like violent Korean movies. I like Iranian braised meat dishes with sour lime. What passes over my plate changes every day. I eat some of the most interesting meals in the world. But when I walk into a place where I am eating, I never recognize a single person.

I got the idea that Jason should have his own signature cocktail. I had the perfect name for it and a list of drinks he likes, but I'm no mixologist, so I needed help to pull this off. Sonya McKinney, the manager replied to my request saying she was all in. And boy was she! From her creative expertise, the "Liberty Risk" cocktail was born. Jason is a retired Navy fighter pilot with an ornery streak a mile wide. Whenever the aircraft carrier came into port, the crew was at liberty to enjoy time in town, unless of course, they'd done a mischief and found themselves on liberty risk, and thus restricted to the ship. Jason wasn't completely unfamiliar with liberty risk. "Liberty Risk" became the name of his boat, his most prized possession, making it also the perfect name for his signature cocktail. Sonya didn't just create an awesome cocktail, she hung a professionally made banner above the bar introducing the drink, wrote and laminated the backstory of the drink, and bought a special Navy veteran glass in which to present the drink, complete with real Navy wings that she attached to a golden cocktail skewer to garnish the drink! She also arranged for the musician who was playing that night to lead the whole bar in singing Happy Birthday to him. Thanks to Sonya, the whole experience was unparalleled and it's a special memory Jason and I will always cherish.
