Prices were a touch higher than we're used to (the sour beer they had on tap was $5.75 for 5 ounces or $11 for 10 ounces. As long as you're ok with driving into a semi-sketchy looking part of town and doing your own ordering (food and beer), you'll love this place! Tons of character, great food and brews, nice bathrooms... We came on a Friday when they were playing Toxic Trivia-- those questions were tough!! We had fun though! I ordered a basil/pesto-y pizza that was fantastic. The pizzas come in two sizes, and since I was splitting it with a friend, we opted for the larger size. This was MORE than enough. The smaller will easily feed two. As for beer, I tried a fruity beer, which was nice because it was fruity but not sweet. I also tried their barrel aged beer, which really packed a boozy punch, and had a lot of bourbon-y taste in it. I enjoyed both a lot! My coworkers and I attempted to eat here but we had such a poor interaction with the bar staff that we decided to get up and leave. The menu was pretty lacking and were not treated very nice by the barmaid. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming at all and it's located in a run down sketchy part of town. We wound up down the road at another brewery that was great. Also of note: My coworkers and I travel frequently for work and we all have a Yelp account. There were 4 of us who experienced this treatment at the Livery. I find it hilarious and sad that when this business gets a poor review, that they deflect and assume that my coworker has two accounts (because they could never ever have admitted to earning a poor review of their shitty employees) that my review must be fake. Absolutely horrible customer service here. The girl working at the bar was not helpful and very rude when we approached her to ask about seating and a menu. Her attitude was pretty bad, and she couldn't have cared less that there were people to serve. She was not even busy, just a couple at the bar who had already been served drinks. After looking over the very basic menu, we decided that it wasn't worth staying for if we were going to be treated that way by servers. Will not be back and will encourage our local family and friends to not dine here either. Don't waste your time, the place was dead anyway. read more

While I've yet to try any, they have a pretty big selection of food as well, ranging from cheese-plates to pizzas(!). For those looking to still enjoy the music while having a little more privacy, there's stairs leading to a cool, rustic upstairs level with tables/chairs, and a railing overlooking the whole room that you can look down from. I went to the Livery for a show with a friend. I really enjoyed Seeing a show here. The space is fairly large for a bar but felt intimate. There is not a bad view in the place. The staff is nice and very helpful. They have a large variety of beer. My one complaint is that for those of us who are not big beer drinkers there is not much else available. They have a red wine option. They serve food - some people in my group had pizza and really enjoyed it. The venue has a nice design and plenty of parking. They frequently have live music. It's a great place to bring a group. The prices are really good as well. If you're traveling to see a show there are places to stay near by that face Lake Michigan. Overall, it was a really good experience. I would Definitely attend another show. read more

Pizzas we ordered: All of the meats -lots of meats and gooey cheese. A few people commented that this was the best meat pizza they'd had. One person commented they did not like meat pizzas -but they thought this one was amazing! Mikey's bad trip -this bad boy is a mushroom lovers dream! A white sauce complimented mushrooms, gooey cheese, truffle salt, and black pepper. I thought there would be a lot more mushrooms, but the pizza certainly was not lacking in flavor. This was my favorite of all the pies! The flavor combination was exquisite! Savory, earthy, and cheesy, with a hint of truffle salt and black pepper. Wowsa. Thai BBQ chicken -I would have never ordered this pizza by myself, but one of our crew raved about the flavors. Chicken, peanuts, pineapple, and BBQ sauce comprised this delight. It was so simple, yet complex. The crunch of remarkably plump, fresh peanuts really added another layer of dazzle, making this my second favorite pizza! 12" pizzas are $15 our 16" pizzas ranged from $23-$25/ea I thought the pizzas were a little pricey for the size, which may influence future visits -but the quality and flavor of the pizza was really great. read more

I try to go to the Livery every time I head back to SW MI to see my parents. All around great place. The beer is top notch. They tend to favor stouts & porters. I have not eaten here but the food looks good. Parking lot on site and parking out front so easy to park. Surrounding area rather industrial and not a lot happening. I think SW MI has Uber which is a good call as many beers are on the higher side for alcohol content. An option is to try a beer or two and then grab a growler if you need to drive. read more

First, I'm not sure why it says "no" for kids. That should be changed. My wife and two young boys arrived here for an early dinner and went right downstairs so didn't really see much of the rest of the place (the outside looked great but it was a grey day). Another Benton Harbor art district gem. Only the basement portion of the restaurant was open that cold wintry night but it was perfect. Ordered at the bar. Place was packed. Pizza being made right there in front of us. You grabbed your own table. If one was available. You got water from an Igloo. Forget the ice. Didn't need it. We tried a variety of pizzas that night. Thin. Crispy crust. Mine was simple w cheese and pepperoni. I could t stop eating it. Every single bite. Delicious cheesy mozzarella. Spicy pepperoni. Made for me delicious. I loved the crust. We stopped in here for lunch last summer on our way back from Saugatuck to say hello to Simon, the brewer, with whom I attended law school. I had one of their barrel aged stouts, a rye beer, and then a pilsner or lager with my Italian grinder. The beers were all seriously good, very high quality, as was the food. The aforementioned Italian has great crusty bread and packs a spicy punch from the giardiniera. I also recommend the pretzel bites and the spicy beer mustard. Hidden Gem! Started with a Butterfly Effect white ipa and a See-Saw Belgian wit. Can't go wrong with either. Moved into a Silver Queen Helles and an Evergreen Warrior IIPA. Both are contenders. Beers are just as good as the food... Got pretzel bites. You can't go wrong the cheese or the mustard. The cheese is unlike any beer cheese I've ever had. It was pretty amazing. Got some mustard too.
