The wife and I went out and explored restaurants in the Douglasville area. After reading a few…read morereviews we landed on Per Se. We are new to the area so we are looking for our "new" spots. We went on a Friday evening. Parking and location was good and easy to find. When we walked in the front room is just empty and that gave us a weird feeling. You walk in through a walkway and you see the seating. The seating gives off more bar than nice restaurant but we decided to give it a shot any way. We seated ourselves but were promptly treated by a waitress that gave us menus and a silverware and drink menus. She was not our waitress but very nice. Again the menus were printed on paper which again gave red flags on if this was going to be a good experience, but we were already committed at this point. I ordered an old fashion and my wife one of their mixed cocktails. Drinks were great! Her drink alittle fruity for me but just right for the wife. My old fashion wasn't the best I've had but it was solid. We ordered the egg rolls for an appetizer. They came with an Asian sweet chili sauce that was awesome. Really enjoyed them. I had the Parmesan crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I do wish I had alittle more broccoli but otherwise it was simply amazing. The salmon was cooked and seasoned through the large portion. My wife had the southern fried catfish with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Came with some hot sauce but the fish was seasoned so well it wasn't needed at all. The worst part of the experience was the hookah it wasn't great but could've just been the flavor I ordered, and it was also fairly cold in the restaurant as it was about 40 degrees outside and inside. Sorry I didn't take any photos but I would say don't judge a book by its cover this is some of the best dining we've had since moving to the area.

The theme was flowers and there was a beautiful flower wall, flower wall paper, flowers on the table with hues of red, pink and lavender. We were seated at a large table with a cushioned bench in the center across from the bar. Music was low enough to hear your conversations with a mix of r&b hits playing. Our server was Ramee and she was very sweet and attentive. We were waiting on two more guests to arrive, and she continued to check in and refill water and drinks. Once everyone arrived, I put in an order for the chicken egg rolls. They came out within 10 minutes and were fresh and flavorful! I would order those again. It comes with 2 cut in half, and was shareable with a small group. I did not order any cocktails, but my friends seemed to enjoy their drinks. For my entree, I opted for the salmon burger and fries & I was satisfied with it. The salmon was fresh and flavorful (not a patty!), and the fries were well seasoned. The others at my table ordered the beef burger, salmon with mashed potatoes and pasta with shrimp or chicken. The ladies who did not order burgers mentioned that their orders were lukewarm (i.e the pasta & mashed potatoes), so they ended up taking them to go. One of the ladies requested plasticware and the server mentioned that plastic ware was typically reserved for to go orders. A little later, Ramee brought out my friend's birthday cake & the crew came with sparklers and a birthday song to celebrate her. The owner, Dre also sent over a gift of forever roses and requested our feedback & ended up sending a flight of green tea for the table. The green tea was good! Overall, it was a fun experience & I would come back with friends. I would likely reorder the same food that I tried!

We ordered our usual: fried jumbo shrimp for me and my husband, and a bacon smash burger for my son. The "jumbo" shrimp were anything but jumbo. They were small, closer to popcorn shrimp, which feels like false advertising. The burger was also noticeably smaller than it used to be and, to make matters worse, it was missing the bacon entirely and the rest of the toppings were wrong as well. I understand food costs may have increased, but I would rather pay more than see quality and accuracy decline. This was a big disappointment, and we won't be back.

I had the country fish breakfast, which included two Large flounder fillets, eggs and grits. The food came out hot (even after waiting about 10 minutes after I sat down); everything is cooked to order and fresh. The flounder was EXCELLENT and so full and flaky, with a nice crunch. The grits were perfect- you know the grits are good when you eat them with a fork. Had a strawberry mimosa and water to wash things down. The large quantity of food really filled me up so that I had to take some of my flounder home with me. The service was GREAT! The people are so friendly from the moment you walk in. Great place and I will be back to try the rest of the menu.

There is no doubt this restaurant has the potential to score as first timers but they missed the mark on several occasions. Orders not correctly served and soaky quesadillas are served with a smile. The shell is delivered crispy on one side, soft on the other. 4 waitresses with a house room full of peothe heat was climbing but once they turned the air down at my request things began to come in focus. Our waiter was clearly triple-sat, which isn't his fault--but it resulted in a very long wait just to get drinks and an appetizer. After 30 minutes, our cheese sticks finally arrived... stone cold. Not "warm-ish." Cold. The cheese didn't stretch--it snapped. That should've been our warning sign. Then came the OM Cheese Burger. I ordered it medium. What I received tasted like it had been cooked directly on a charcoal briquette. Burnt. Bitter. Coal-adjacent. The cheese was gooey but somehow not hot, and the cheese sauce--served on a skillet, mind you--was cold. Cold cheese sauce on a skillet is honestly impressive in the worst way. The burger lacked flavor and was just... bad, you guys. I'm genuinely sorry to say it. The riblets were burnt beyond recognition. Imagine tough little pieces of coal desperately trying to pass as meat, smothered in BBQ sauce that also tasted burnt. The four-cheese mac and cheese was awful, which feels like a crime. There was even bacon in it--HOW do you mess up mac and cheese with bacon? My daughter ordered the grilled cheeseburger with waffle fries, and while it was edible, it definitely didn't save the meal or justify the experience. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing Applebee's visits we've had. Long waits, cold food, burnt food, and flavors that just missed the mark entirely. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this one earned it. We won't be rushing back for the OM Cheese Burger--or anything else.
