All You Can Eat Brunch (Soul Food Sunday Buffet 12 and Under
    D. K. C.

Now you know!!! On Sundays in Atlanta, we Brunch!!!! As such, this Sunday we ended up at The Kitchen Bar & Grill in Douglasville. The location is off in the cut but I promise it's super easy to find. Parking is kind of tight so I would suggest carpooling if you are going in a group. As you walk up, the artwork that fills the windows is absolutely stunning. The visuals set the mood for what you are about to experience inside before you even know it. As you open the door, your eyes are immediately drawn to the artwork that is inside as well. The space is super small, however, they have made great dimensional use of the space, just prepare to not have too much elbow room. Immediately as we stepped into the establishment, the staff greeted us with a warm welcome. As it was Sunday, the usual menu is closed out and the day is taken over by the All You Can Eat Soul Food. Babeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! I'm talking about HOME COOKING for $30.00... Ok. After you seated ourselves, the waitress came over. She was super pleasant, all smiles, and all about service. She took our drink order and told us to grab our plates and enjoy. When I say Spreaddddddddddddddd. I'm talking: Mashed Potatoes Yams Collards String Beans Baked Chicken Salmon Salisbury Steak Corn Muffins And More.... Ooh chile, they showed out with this selection. As I am a picky eater and it is too hot out (for me) to be eating that heavy, I had: Ham Collards Salmon Corn Muffins The Ham was Amazingggggggggg. Baby listen.... Give me that ham and let me take it home. Whoever made that meat understood the art of a well balanced Brown Sugar rub to balance out the porkness of the Ham. (My pork eaters understand me.).. The meat was juicy, tender, and bomb. I'm not gone lie, I'm go back for the ham alone. Ha. The Collards were REAL. These ain't no canned greens. Somebody's aunt made these after she chopped them with her hood knife. Yes Lorddddddd. The greens were Greenin how they should be. The baked Salmon was disrespectfully good. It wasn't dry. It wasn't soggy. Whoever made this salmon went to salmon school and they got an A++. Ooh chile!!!!! I'm having flashbacks bout how good the Salmon was. The cornbread muffins were soft and buttery. They had the natural corn flavor with the perfect amount of sugar. They provided the sugar balance to the salt filled options that come with Soul Food. Oh yeah, and the Sweet Tea.... Dear Auntie... You Did That and I needed one to go. Ha. Though I live nowhere near Douglasville, I'll be back. And imma get me some Ham to go. Ha.

Flew into the ATL and stopped by here after searching YELP. So glad we did! My guy ordered the three wing plate with green beans and baked beans. I only ordered a side of man n cheese. The food was delicious and piping hot and enough to share. The chicken was made to order and so flavorful. I loved everything, including the service! If I could offer a suggestion for improving, I would suggest lowering the music just a tad because the space is small and a little less sugar in the tea or offer a tea with no sugar. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and it was so sweet I couldn't drink it. I ordered a water instead.

    Sorry nasty omelet

The omelets are terrible. So much butter, and salt, the mushrooms looks old, the entire omelet was all apart in pieces. It's just nasty and terrible. Please teach you cooks! This is NOT how an omelet is cooked nor served. Sooooo disappointing!

The food was not proportional to the price. The smash burger looked much larger on the menu than it actually was. I would not return.

They had an assortment of desserts available including cookies, cupcakes, banana pudding and peach cobbler. I ordered two red velvet cupcakes and an orange cranberry cupcake. To my pleasant surprise, I realized that they sell soul food and desserts. The soul food was not displayed, but still available to purchase due to the timing that I came in. The staff was so friendly and hospitable! There is no seating, so come ready to place your to go order and head home. The Saturday menu offered a few entrees and soulful sides, including baked pork chops with gravy, baked chicken, and fried fish. For sides, they had rice, macaroni and cheese, yams, collards and cornbread (and a few others, see a Saturday menu in the photo). They were sold out of baked chicken, so I opted for two pork chop dinners with macaroni, collards and yams for my family. It also included rice and cornbread. I was able to put the gravy on the side. They used sturdy to-go boxes and cupcake containers and nothing leaked out on my way home. I appreciated this a lot, because sometimes restaurants give you a styrofoam box that does not close, causing the sauces and juice from the food to leak out in the bag. The food was AMAZING! It tasted like it was made with love from scratch. I loved the pork chops and gravy, rice and cornbread. A Timeless Treat made the best macaroni and cheese that I've tried at a restaurant in Douglasville or Atlanta area! The portion was enough to have some for dinner and then the next day for lunch. Prepare for a nap after that meal! The red velvet cupcakes were good as well! Overall, I recommend this restaurant. I will be back to try the other items, since the menu rotates based on the day.

The ambience is your typical lounge. It's pretty chill no thanks spectacular however, I would go back because the drinks were very good and you can't be a five dollar deal after work.

My friends have tried attending and found the music level too loud & left. If it's supposed to be a restaurant, then maybe save the loud music til after 9 for the club vibe? ‍ We came for dinner Sunday, 7/27/25. There was a good mix of R&B & hip hop, with more R&B, I'd say. My husband, "can't do boopity-boo," and was able to hang in there until bingo. I'l come back to that. I ordered the Baldwin Hills, which was fruity, but strong. The bartenders need to get on the same page tho, because the 1st one was definitely better than the 2nd one. I'm from LA & Baldwin Hills is above the area where I grew up, so I had to represent with that drink. Normally, I'm a whiskey/bourbon lady, but vodka is my white liquor preference so I was good. The food is good. We started with the jerk chicken eggrolls. It was definitely fried hard, or maybe refried from earlier? Idk. It was not as light as the picture. Due to the lighting & how hard they were fried, I had to do some editing to make them visible. The server said they weren't too spicy. They come in 4 pieces. The 1st piece I had was definitely mild. My husband said they had a kick when he bit into his, but I didn't get that...that is until I had the 2nd one! Whew! All the spice was in that piece! I'd say slightly spicier than a little kick. They were tasty tho. We both waited a while for our entrees. The table next to us, also only with a couple had their food come out before ours, though they came in as we were finishing our appetizer I think. We'd already placed our entree order by the time they came. The server apologized for the delay on our food and said it would be out in a few minutes. It was more like 10-15 minutes before they brought out his entree. The person who brought it out, maybe the manager?, said she didn't want his food to get cold waiting on mine to come out. It took another 10-15 minutes, if not longer, for my food to come out, with no explanation. My husband ordered the fried catfish entreè with spinach & rice pilaf. He enjoyed his food. His only issue was not having 2 fillets. As you can see the piece you get is sizable, soooo, if you have a big appetite, maybe also get the catfish on the happy hour too to supplement the meal. ‍ I'm trying to get into salmon & the honey bourbon salmon was good. It wasn't overly sweet and it didn't taste fishy, like salmon sometimes can. The spinach is good also. I had to send the potatoes back because they were not hot. As long as I waited for my food, I wasn't expecting lukewarm food. The server quickly brought out some hot potatoes and they were good. They have bingo on Sunday night @ 8; or at least it was 8-something that's night. Initially, the dj said it was an R&B bingo, but when the bingo paper was passed out, it had hip hop on it too. I'm familiar with some hip hop, but don't know all the artists' names, lol. It was still fun, but I knew I probably wasn't going to win lol. We sang during the songs (had to ID the artist on the bingo card), and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I'm glad to have this option in Douglasville and glad it's still here after a few years when some other restaurants have closed. They are also open late, which is good, as most restaurants in the area close at 9 or 10. I'd ask the owner to consider a grown and sexy night or an over 35 night with good R&B music that's played at a level that can be enjoyed and allowed conversation to flow. A line dance night would also be good. I met the owner when the 1st location in Atlanta opened on Edgewood. It just so happened we had family in town visiting from LA. They gave him the business lol about the drink names and the place, but really enjoyed the vibe. I'm glad to see the business flourishing and in multiple states. I wish continued success and that there will be some acceptance of the feedback provided.

We ordered the fried pork chop dinner with two sides, mac & cheese, and green beans. The other entrée was a baked turkey wing, greens, sweet potatoes, dressing with gravy and cornbread. The pork chop was dry, overcooked. The green beans tasted like they came from a can and had seasoning salt in them, the mac & cheese was okay. The turkey and dressing were good, if I am being picky I would say the dressing needed a little more sage. The greens and the sweet potatoes were okay. If your menu is soul food and it is "just like momma's", this fell a little short for me. The server was okay, however she could not answer any questions on the breakfast menu ( there were no descriptions on the menu), I had to ask for a knife for the pork chop ( I got up), then I had to go back and ask for a knife for the turkey wing. Soul food should make your mouth water and if it is good, you want to go back for more. The restaurant has a nice vibe and the decorations are cute. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked.
