I adore The Local. Stiff, cheap drinks ($3 for a rum/coke), friendly bartenders (though occasionally they may seem a bit understaffed) and the best Turkey Club on the South end. I would come back for a plate of the bacon alone. My friends had a huge plate of onion rings (so good, fried perfectly!) and the grilled cheese which was ridiculous. I'm a huge fan of the shuffleboard table, it's kept in gorgeous condition. The pool tables are 75 cents if I recall correctly and they were pretty spiffy too. It's always fun to come in and watch the games, great projector screen. Although I probably wouldn't come to watch the Hawks as it would be insane. Parking isn't too bad if you get there at a reasonable time. The owners of The Local are the same as the owners of 8 Bit so if the bartenders/managers look familiar, that would be why. I went to the Local 907 this past weekend with a couple of my friends. I have lived in the Renton area for my entire life but I have never considered going to one of the bars on 3rd street before. I was still a bit nervous about what the vibe would be before arriving. Overall the experience was great. Totally not what I expected, very laid back. The staff was extremely friendly which was a huge plus since I really don't know my way around a drinks/beer menu and they were more than happy to offer up suggestions. We ordered the fried green beans and the nachos to share. Both hit the spot. My friends and I will probably return for a drink sooner than later. read more

I'm editing my review from months ago. I recently stopped in for lunch because their salads are phenomenal. Imagine my surprise when I got about half the size they used to have, at the same price, of course. The size of the different kinds of lettuce, spinach, weeds (?) was offensive. No one wants a piece of spinach the size of a stick of butter. If someone would've checked on us, I could've asked for a knife. The original waitress was pleasant enough, but never came back once to check on us. No offers to refill pop, see how things were, etc. In fact, a different waitress had to give us our check, even though the original one kept looking our way. Since I've only had great service and food before, I can only imagine maybe the original owners sold it. Probably not coming back. And it's too bad because I raved about this place every chance I got. read more

We walked in and chose a seat right away, and the servers were very friendly. I ordered a Cobb salad, which was huge and epically perfect. I couldn't begin to eat it all. I also had the sweet potato fries, which were wonderfully crisp. I would definitely come again. read more

Depends on the bartender. I got cut off after 5 drinks during the playoffs. The week before I was able to order 7. Never caused a problem or caused any fights in their bar. I told the bartender I wasn't going to argue with her but I was able to go buy more after the game and no one gave me problems. read more

Returned to the bar because I was going to find friendly service who would recommend a drink to me with a smile. I don't drink often and when I do, I want a drink that tastes good. I walked up to the bar intending to ask the bartender to make me a drink. I told her I don't drink very much, don't have any favorites and don't know much about liquors and drinks. Well guess what! They hired a bartender just like me! She also doesn't know anything about liquor or drinks! She couldn't recommend anything and so I pointed to the peach vodka and said I might like something with that. She suggested soda. Wow, soda and peach vodka? I looked around and saw a girl drinking a midori sour and ordered that. Without a word the bartender turned and started making the drink. She came back and asked if I wanted to start a tab, I said ok and handed her my credit card which she took and didn't even tell me the price of the drink. It was $6.50 which was too much for it. The drink tasted just like robitussin. I don't remember it tasting that way. Anyways, I don't give this place three stars for service or drinks but for the place itself. Friendly, considerate staff. Fast service to table. Politely explained differences between burgers. Had both cider and beers available. Hot, tasty All-American Burger and homemade Black Bean burger. Black bean patty itself wasn't that flavorful, so order with toppings or dip in ketchup. Would definitely come back. read more

We went there for a quick bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised with the food and service. The beer and cider selection was good and we both enjoyed our burgers and fish and chips (although the burger was better than the fish and chips). Pub food is pretty decent and I always love their beer selection. Staff is pretty cool as well.

Really great poutine! The fries were perfectly crispy. Could have had more cheese curds though. Try it with the beef. The nachos are good too, not so much with the BBQ pulled pork on them but the plate was still empty in the end. This is a great bar to watch any sports game you can imagine, drink incredible microbrews, and eat some of the best bar food in town. Love the place! Really family feel, outsiders from the local regs are always happily welcomed, great food! You may need to ask for a box lol pool tables, darts, pinball (and pinball across the street at 8-bit arcade & bar) but all in all great place to bring friends and have a place to just hang and munch. Our first night in Renton for a competition so we went here to meet, grab dinner, and talk about the match the next morning. Had the mango Hef and it was pretty damn good. The wife and I had Reuben sandwiches. They were very good. Corned beef was thick and delicious. The onion rings were very good and the gentlemen that brought out our food checked on us to make sure we had what we needed. The original waitress was awful and bitchy. Couldn't get napkins from her so the guy and another waitress helped took care of us. A Seahawks game was taking place so everyone was quite rowdy and loud, pretty much what one would expect. read more

Nice place, excellent pulled pork quesadillas. Weekend nights understaffed and too noisy for my taste, due to no carpet. Acoustic treatments on the ceiling starting to come loose. Pool tables are garbage, balls get stuck inside and tables are not level. Suggest weeknight visit. read more

The food is soooo good! Wings were ok, but all of our entrees were great. Had the western burger, blta w/an egg, the Reuben, & then another burger. We all loved our food! The service was interesting. No specific server so we had multiple people we had to ask for more drinks & we didn't get checked on all that much, but all the servers/bartenders were nice and friendly and made great recommendations. Great spot to grab a drink or great bar food. Wings are great, they make their own pastrami and burgers are super good and messy. Never going to leave hungry and they have good sized potions. Drinks are good and they often have Trivia, open mike comedy or other things going on to liven up the night during the week. One of the few places I know of that has a pool table as well a shuffleboard and darts if you want to have some fun playing games while tossing back a cold one. Good selection of local beers.
