Bad service. They had both Chandon rosé sparkling wine and Mionetto prosecco on the menu. We both agreed to get the Chandon. The bartender pulls out two bottles of the Mionetto prosecco. I tell him, excuse me, this is the prosecco, we ordered the Chandon. He told me that that was the Chandon. It clearly and obviously said Mionetto Prosecco on it. Then he said that "this was the Prosecco," and pulled out another variety of the Prosecco. Both bottles said Mionetto Prosecco (one was regular and one was rosé). I told him that neither of them was the Chandon. but he just said one was champagne and one was prosecco and which one do you want. Why the devil he didn't say "we're out of Chandon (I assume) and these are the only options," I have no idea. So he was charming as well as smart. /s Honestly, it wasn't a great way to start our vacation and if you can go to another place in Terminal 1, I would recommend you do so. read more

Food sucks, beer is overpriced, but that's normal for the airport I guess. The bartender can be a bit rude, takes ages to notice new customers and take drink orders, makes uncomfortable comments to women at points. Just a weird place but not many other options around at Terminal 1 unfortunately. read more

I ordered cheeseburger for my child, medium cooked with Farhadu. Burgers were overcooked and no cheese. I politely asked to make another one. He kept stating that I did not order what I ordered, btw never gave a receipt just the order number. I asked for manager and apparently he is the manager. He kept saying loudly trying to embarrass me in front of my child and other costumers by pointing finger on me. No! Just no. We sat down and were told to use the barcode to scan and order. Mid order, our server came up and told us not to use the barcode to order as that was only for to go orders ( they are glued to all of the tables in the restaurant). The server, then proceeded to tell us about the entire menu rather than asking us what we wanted since we already knew what was on the menu. He was super rude, but it's NY so I'll give that a pass. I just sat down, ordered a beer, and asked the bartender Ruben how his day was going. His response? "The world is awful and it's all the immigrants' fault! One day we will close all borders and be happy!" Oof. Not a great way to start things off. A man sat down next to me at the bar and ordered a Diet Coke and food, and the bartender Ruben told him that it was "against the law" for him to be there without ordering alcohol. The man explained that he did not want alcohol and the bartender told him that he would have to leave if he did not order any siding company policy. There really aren't any sit down restaurants in Terminal 1 once you go through security to the gates except this one. You either have the grab and go kind of places or this. We had some time to kill and since seating is pretty limited at the gates in Terminal 1 we wanted to eat at a table. Since this is the only sit down place here expect it to be crowded. The bar seemed a little more spacious so we chose to sit there. Our seats were next to where the waiters pick up their drink orders. We got to enjoy the bartender and waiters complain the whole time about everything and anything....fun times. I don't expect a gourmet meal at any airport but this place serves complete crap. My chicken Caesar salad was super sad. I had to pick out bad pieces of lettuce and the grilled chicken was so dry (probably from being reheated multiple times) it was inedible. My husband had the wedge salad, which was much better, and a sandwich. His choices were much better than mine. Fill your belly before you get to the airport and just come here for a drink (as long as you don't mind listening to employees bitch and moan). read more

We walked up to this place at 10:05 am, the lady said they no longer had breakfast. I said ok we can do lunch and she said no that doesn't start until 11am. So I asked if they were closed and she said yes. Two things... 1. The sign says their hours are 7am-11pm. 2. The menu says breakfast served until 10:30. We received awesome service. Food was mediocre. No vegan breakfast options. Few vegetarian options unless you are lacto-ovo. Tried the parfait. It was huge and probably weighed about a pound. The sandwich without the bacon and eggs on the side. The truth is that I regret not stopping by the 2 Shake Shacks that we passed by in Terminal 5. Their menu looked a bit more promising after 10:30. This is basically your only real option for food in terminal 1. Crazy, right? My advice is to get your grub on in terminal 5 prior to checking in at terminal 1. If you're like me and reading this while you dine, it is probably too late. There's always next time right? I will be sure to bookmark this advice for future reference when flying internationally. read more

STAY AWAY. Okay, so I understand this is a restaurant at a airport and I did not expect some fancy dining and even with 0 expectation, they managed to fail. It took awhile for us to get served (to the point the table next to us left). When we finally placed an order, it took forever for us to get our food. Beside the point, what really made me give this place one star was the "clam chowder soup". I ordered the clam chowder and she comes back 20 minutes later saying "we do not have clam chowder, do you want anything else?" then I tell the server for other soup options and she tells me THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE SOUP. Then I asked her if she can just take it off my bill and she REFUSED. She said she needs to call her manager to do that and she did not want to. After declining her offer a million times, she says okay. After 10 minutes she comes back with "IDONTKNOWWHATTHISISSOUP" She magically brought a soup out and said it was clam chowder. First of all, this was not no MANHATTAN CLAM CHOWDER. So i am not sure where she got the soup from but I REFUSED to touch it. Mind you she gives me a broken spoon. Please stay away from this place! Had a few hours to kill, so my bestie and I got something to wet our whistle. Restaurant looked pretty packed but we had good timing because a couple of people left by the counter. As the waiter said we had "million dollar view" due to we were seated at the counter facing the window, where you can watch the planes taxi out of gates. The windows were dusty, so they may want to clean that so people can see a "clear" view outside. On to the food, a nice selection of bar food at airport prices, my friend and I just decided to half a Reuben since we were still full from a late lunch. The Reuben was ok, nothing fantabulous. It did come with chips and some pickles. They do have beer on tap I opted for Samuel Adam's, can't go wrong with that and bestie tried a Brooklyn lager which she enjoyed. We experienced good and friendly service. Took our drink order and food order in a timely fashion and so did our food. All in all, if you want to kill some time to have a beer or two and have something to munch on, while watching a game on the tele at airport prices, then this place is for you. read more

This is not a bad spot considering everything around is just fast food. Although I would not call this slow food either, I got served the same salad they have out for "grab and go", the staff is quick and very polite despite the hectic atmosphere. Overall, I feel like if I had ordered something prepared in the restaurant I would have felt more satisfied with the food. The Caesar salad was nice. The chicken was a bit dry, but once chopped up with dressing and Parmesan it is everything you can be looking for in an airport restaurant. read more

Stopped at JFK for a layover and stopped here to eat as it was one of only a few sit down spots In Terminal 1. We were immediately taken care of by Arthur!!!!! He was the best! Friendly, helpful, personable and a hard worker. I felt like a friend was taking care of us. He was funny, quick bringing our food and checked in just enough. He also didn't make us feel bad for sitting for a bit after we finished our food. If I could be friends with him in real life I would be. The food was ok / good but Arthur was AWESOME. :) read more

I know most people have given this place 1 star, but we had fast and excellent service and our sandwich was tasty. While waiting for our plane to depart, we had a quick bite to eat. We order a grilled mozzarella and tomato sandwich with chips. They were unfortunately out of chips, so we got a fresh salad. I got a Rosé to drink and my husband got a beer. Both were excellent. Well the three stars are a slight stretch but we asked the waiter what he recommended and if the burger was good. Definitely don't get the burger. He said the pizza and the brisket and the Rubin. I think he was giving good advice. The Rubin isn't impressive but the meat is sliced thick and it tasted good. The brisket and the Ceasar salad got good reviews. There are few good choices in terminal 1. This seems a fairly decent option. The wait staff is very good and the food was decent. The draft beer was good. Stopped for breakfast before n international flight. Pleasant waitress but you only have 3 choices oatmeal tarot plate and one other. You were supposed to have a meat and bread choice but only bacon available and sour dough bread ( no complaints here). Coffee was rough- had to borrow creamer from neighbors. Me and my girlfreind where in new york for 2 weeks we had a fantastic time soo much great food and drink, tipped every time we ate out... we didnt tip lastnight as food was pricey microwaved rubbish. My god the server was so rude, puts the bill back down infront of us and asks where his tip is, so i add 10% service as he was nice enough and he has no control over the food. Then the guy then storms around and telling guests/staff we didnt tip and how terrable we are. finally he comes to clear our empty glasses and says we should leave and we are no longer welcome. as we got up to leave i say "have a good evening" to which the bartender returns with have a terrable one.
