There is only 1 restroom in here, so get in line before you have to go. It seemed cute, trendy. They offer wine tasting nights for $60.00. The local is a nice comfortable wine bar at the District, Green Valley Ranch. The District is a nice area for the shopping, restaurants or just a evening strole. The Local is a bit of a smaller place which makes for a warm atmosphere. I am not a wine drinker but found a great selection of spirits and beers. Burbon is one of my preferred beverages Blantons all the way to RIP Van Winkle were ready to go. They had the large craft ice which was nice for 102' evening. Shout out to the staff, both the bar tender and server were super friendly and fun. We did not get to sample any of the food as this was our post dinner evening cap. The Local is the cutest little wine bar in a great location. It's at The District at GVR, so all around there's cute cozy vibes. It's a small place, so it gets packed quickly. My friend and I went on a Saturday night --the service was a bit on the inattentive side but it was also extremely busy. My friend ordered a strawberry fields cocktail --adorable and refreshing! Parking was pretty busy down at the District yesterday, but we were lucky to find a spot on Village Walk Drive! (Which is free) When we arrived at 4:15pm we were greeted promptly and we sat at the first available table. It was not busy which was great for us but around 5:00pm the place was packed. We ordered Prosecco, Cheese and meat 8 selection And a Panini. The food was amazing!!! For 3 guests, food and champagne it was under $100. So around 6:00pm we left and strolled the shops, only to find most of them have changed their hours and some were closed or closing soon. The Local is our new spot for wine, beer and cocktails plus delicious food. We will be back! One thing I forgot to mention... since the COVID-19 the menu has changed and a lot less to choose from - which is understandable. read more

Let me start off by saying this place is very well decorated and inviting. The staff are very kind and attentive and I could easily see myself sitting here with a drink or three for a few hours. I could see myself doing that but probably won't because both times I have gone, the place has been absolutely packed to the gills which honestly isn't hard to do as there is really only enough seating for about 20-25 people in here. Also, the drinks, while very good, are too pricey. They do have a very good wine list which is different from a lot of other places around Henderson so if you wanted to try some new bottles, this would be the place. I still have to try the food so I will be back for that! Maybe it's good that it's small. Maybe it's good that it's a one-ff. Maybe I've just been going at the wrong times. This is such a cute spot! A friend and I stopped by for some wine and a light dinner on a weekday night. This place gets super busy & isn't too big inside so we walked around awhile first before coming back to find two seats at the bar. They were offering a discount on wine bottles which was a lovely surprise for us. We shared a delicious savy b. The menu didn't have a ton of food options and was even more limited for my gluten free vegetarian friend so we had just the caprese salad. Still very tasty! Finally! A wine bar at The District. My favorite outing involves wine and a good cheese board. I'm so happy to have The Local nearby. Inside, The Local is divided into two areas. In the back, separated by a wall is the bar area. In front there are four tables, each seating four people and a small bar style area with stools. In the evening and on weekends this place is very busy. I've had luck getting a table on weekend afternoons when they aren't as busy. I was even able to bring my baby on one visit since the bar is separate. The table next to us also had a baby. I wouldn't recommend bringing children during busy times though. The food menu isn't huge, but it doesn't need to be because everything I've had so far has been great. They have a fun cocktail menu and offer beer too. Wines are offered by the glass or bottle. My favorite option for wine are the flights which should always be an option at wine bars. I enjoyed most of the wines in the two flights I've had. "The Local" board is my favorite item. Served on a board the size of a small surf board, it comes with enough food for 2-3 people to share. Three meats, three cheeses, hummus, very tasty feta dip, bell pepper slices, fresh fruit, and dried fruit. They also do it right by providing plenty of crackers and pretzels. I hate getting a board of goodies with three crackers. The Cheese & Meat board is delicious like The Local board, but smaller for one person to enjoy alone or two people to share with other items. The Havana Panini was delicious with the mortadella. The chips on the side were tasty too. Bruschettas are one of the interesting menu items. I've enjoyed both the Smashed Avocado/Balsamic Glaze/Roasted Tomato and Fig Jam/Granny Smith Apples/Brie. Each type of bruschetta is served in three slices to make it easy to share. The service has been friendly and attentive on both visits. The waitress has been knowledgeable about the menu. The Local is one of my favorite new spots. I'd love to see more of a dessert menu and to see them bring back brunch. Those two things would be the icing on the cake. read more

We got a 4-cheese charcuterie board, bacon-wrapped dates (keep a lookout for that dashing almond flavor, you're welcome), sandwiches, and cocktails. I opted for the BLT and it was perfect. The owner was clearly focused on his instagram posts rather than the customers. Which I could get past that and his cockiness normally. After almost a year of wanting to come and enjoy this cute spot with friends, we finally made it and are so glad we did. Overall we had a good experience, staff was attentive and friendly, the food was good, and the strawberry fields cocktail was the highlight of the night. We decided to get the 8 board and a caprese salad to share and while it was good, we ended up ordering a second of each because there wasn't enough food for 5 of us to share with just the one board and one salad. Our favorite was the caprese salad and the Napa panini which were both worth their price and things we would order again. But currently the meat and cheese boards aren't really worth it. I wish I had taken a moment to take photos of the boards because they weren't really worth the cost. We got 4 slices each of the meats and cheeses and the soft cheeses we chose were very small slices. The boards came with a few little gherkin pickles and mini olives and around 8-10 toasted bread slices, along with honey and fig jam. For $40 we felt it really should've included more, there are other restaurants within walking distance that do the same kinds of boards with more for a lower cost. Keep in mind that for the most part the boards you see in the photos on Yelp for this restaurant are all pre-pandemic and no longer look the same. The strawberry fields cocktail was definitely the highlight and something I would order again. I'd also recommend the salads and paninis but I think if we were hoping to have a charcuterie board we would either just have wine night at home and make one or go elsewhere at the district or GVR. We'll definitely be back for a future get-together though due to all the other aspects that were great. Bottom line: this is a great spot to come and enjoy a sandwich or salad and wine or a cocktail with a few friends. It is a cute atmosphere and in a great spot at the district, but skip the meat and cheese boards. read more

Wow, this is quickly becoming a go-to for me! My sister and I went here for the first time a few weeks ago for a wine tasting. The event itself was fantastic. We had primo seats at the front, facing out. We learned about each wine we were served and had plenty of time to sip and enjoy each. We were not rushed and it came with beautiful charcuterie plates. See pics attached. I really enjoyed the Rose prosecco and bought 6 bottles to pick up later that week. I missed my pickup window and came days after they arrived and they were still very gracious and helpful when I went to pick up. The (owner or manager?) even remembered where I sat at the event. Attention to detail and that recognition went a long with me. I was impressed he remembered who I was, not just another patron. That's awesome. I went back today for a glass during HH, again with my sis, and this time sat at the bar. The same gentleman remembered us and where we sat last time and that I ordered a case of wine. He allowed me to sample 3 wines until I settled on one. Sancerre. Good Sancerre is hard to find and this was possibly the best glass ofSancerre I've ever had. I had one that I found in NYC that I loved about 5 years ago that I could find there from time to time but haven't had one as good since. Naturally I got a bottle given it was 25% off. Sancerre is expensive but worth it at the discount and the fact that it's hard to find. He also had me sample a champagne that I really liked and I got one of those to go as well, again at that discount it was $34 and less than a bottle I just bought at Total (a rose Mailly) that I didn't really love. I'll be back - hopefully weekly! It's hard to stop at one but I look forward to trying a new varietal soon. read more
