We had breakfast here a couple years ago (for the second time) and loved it. Darn! For this recent Prescott visit, we should have read the reviews. The restaurant recently changed hands and is now called "Milo's." Menu has also changed. And not for the better. We did have great service, but the food was not so great. Love! I came here because I'm vegan and GF and they had a whole separate menu. I ordered the vegan hash (the server verified with the kitchen that the sausage was gf). I did want to share because it wasn't exactly what I expected, but it was 100% delicious. They made it impossible to order ahead by calling or reserving online. It's under new management so phone and me u are notnup to date. The menu looked nice and had gluten free pancakes. It however was unclear what else what gluten free until we went and found out they had a gf bagel. I got the breakfast sandwich with a gf bagel. I asked for only bacon and instead they gave me only ham. The sanwhich was okay and served with pottatoes.but quite upset about the meat. Such sweet staff serving up delicious food in a really cute hidden gem! I went in a group with my in laws, wife and son. They were very friendly and pushed a table together to fit us all comfortably. We all ordered different things after much debating because they have so many choices. My wife has a black pepper allergy and they went above and beyond to make her a savory meal without it! We stopped here for brunch our first day in town waiting for our rental to open up. I was very skeptical when my 7/5/5/1 year olds all unanimously voted for the pancakes and the only option was gluten free. Well, that was wasted worry not only did they demolish what we ordered, i had to order more and they all agreed that they were the best restaurant pancakes they had ever had. I was headed up there to pick something up. We decided to eat local and what better place then at The Local? Upon walking up, with the folks outside with their pups, to being greeted and seated, the experience was awesome! Our server Sarah, was pleasant and matched our obvious out of town energy. The inside was bright, but muted, if that makes any sense? The walls were pastel with cute art hung around, whereas the seats were brightly colored and the tables were white. My company thoroughly enjoyed the green chili biscuits and gravy with a side egg. I enjoyed my omelet although, more enjoyed the potatoes as I could tell they were seasoned before smashed. The contributing factor to 3 stars has all to do with the service and them providing WiFi and our server was nice. Other than that, very disappointed. The reviews did not match up with our experience. The tables needed some tlc, as they had sharp edges that felt like they were going to cut our arms. We got The breakfast pie, unfortunately, we couldn't finish much of it. We didn't see anything that would consider it to be a breakfast meal. Just vegetables in soup, not gravy and it was very sweet and it seemed like they tried to cover it up with pepper. Would've loved to have eggs, cheese, bacon/ sausage and actual gravy... could've been amazing! It really felt like little effort was put into our meals. The biscuits and gravy: made me sad. We LOVE biscuits and gravy, these just felt lazy. The gravy had good flavor but i needed more because the biscuits were dry. I should've read the latest reviews before coming here. Apparently the owners have changed and they must have changed the cook as well because the food was so dry. If you have no choice, you can come here just to eat, but don't expect to be satisfied with the taste. Food was cold and coffee was warm. After eating and paying the bill, you'd wish you just went home and cook your own food. The fruit looked and tasted old. I wasn't happy with the dry tortilla, sour verde sauce, and cold coffee. My husband asked for over easy eggs, but it wasn't- well the other egg was. I can't explain what they could improve on. Maybe, just get a new cook and lower the prices. oh how unbelievably sad. for half a decade, my first stop arriving in Prescott was.....THE Local. the name said it all. this is where you went for good people and good food. quality ingredients and most often, excellent service. as of two weeks ago, approximately, there are new owners. our experience over 4th of July week 2025. arrived in Prescott, first stop at The Local. there were only a few other parties there around 9 a.m. on a Wednesday. we took our seat, we were greeted, i was told about the owner change, and then..........we sat, for about 10 minutes with no service, no drinks, just ignored. i guess this is the new m.o. for this business, which will soon be changing its name (the old owners own the name). there is such a dearth of good places in Prescott. coming here to Prescott for about 10 years, i've eaten pretty much everywhere. as it stands now, the only solid places for food on my roster are Park Plaza deli, Outlaw donuts, the Trader Joe's, Wild Iris coffee, and maybe a couple more. but DANG, Prescott severely needs an infusion of restauranteurs. S-O-S. oh and as for whatever "The Local" (RIP) becomes, we are done with it. my bet is after 1-2 years they shutter and a dry cleaners or something similar moves in. read more

We popped in to grab a bite to eat and this experience did not disappoint. The place has definitely expanded their seating. We were immediately seated and our server took our drink orders. I arrived for a late breakfast on a Wednesday. The restaurant was bright and cheery. There are a few outdoor tables too. Ordered green chile biscuits and gravy with egg and smashed loaded Yukon gold potatoes. Incredible. Gravy was smooth and flavorful with chunks of pork with a delicious chile flavor. Homemade biscuits were soft and filling. The loaded Yukon potatoes were well prepared with bacon and cheese with side of pico de gallo. Lemonade with blood orange was refreshing. The Just Eggs tasted so good! Honestly so similar to real eggs. I ordered the Sunrise omelette. The only thing I didn't like is that the eggs were served on top of bread which made the bread soggy. It would have been better if they had served the eggs on top of the argula and tomato only and served the bread on the side. First place my husband chose for our first breakfast in Prescott. He was wanting breakfast and I was leaning towards lunch. Found this cafe near downtown. He had "The Usual"breakfast consisting of two eggs, choice of meat, mashers, and a choice of bread. He felt it was quite adequate and enjoyed it. I had "The Local Chicken", a grilled chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, and a brioche bun. I had to request the red onion that they had forgotten to put on it and I also added avocado. I thought it was very good! It came with a very small side of crunchy diced fried potatoes. They were very tasty, but there weren't enough! I can see by the Menu here that they TRY to lean towards the healthier side. I asked for a Diet Coke, which they did not have. They had Mexican Coke. The server told me it was healthier due to the type of sugar. I ended up ordering iced tea, but even then they only had Stevia sweeteners which I don't care for. I appreciate them trying to lean toward the healthier side, but I don't like being forced to choose a sweetener that I can't stand. All in all we'd definitely still go back again! read more

It's hard to know what you're getting here... For example, the vegan burrito is ginormous and filling, while the veg southwest sunrise (delicious as it was) is the size of a kid's menu meal. The side of potato smashers were huge and tender, while the potatoes that had peppers and onions in them were diced tiny, the portion was tiny, and they tasted raw. (Luckily it was the only bad thing we ate!) Additionally, we ordered a Bloody Mary without Worcestershire sauce since we don't eat meat, and the server told us she'd have them leave off the bacon too (even though bacon wasn't a garnish listed on the menu). Always on the lookout for a good breakfast place and this place looked promising. It's was busy but we were able to get seated right away. The place is brightly colors with teal, yellow and orange and walls covered with various local artwork for sale. It was a bit busy looking, I would suggest less random mixed art. Our server was pleasant but was not on top of things, we asked for water along with our drinks and she only brought out coffee. When we ordered we asked for water again and it didn't come. Finally another server brought us water after the food was delivered. We tried the cinnamon roll. It was pretty dry and not much cinnamon. It was homemade which was good and the frosting was great but I wouldn't order again. Had the southwest sunrise and added chicken with side Biscuit. The biscuit was also homemade and good but not what you think of when you think biscuit. The chicken was thinly cut which was very nice but not much flavor to the meal or potatoes. We ordered some food to-go since we had a pup traveling with us. I ordered the green chile biscuits and gravy. The gravy was delicious but the texture of the biscuits were not that great. I felt like we ate canned biscuits but I know the biscuits were made from scratch. My boyfriend ordered the chorizo hash, which was delicious but it was too spicy for him. We both ordered over medium eggs but our yokes came runny. I don't mind runny yokes but my boyfriend hates it. Our friend ordered the local burrito with the green chile gravy.
