Today we went to visit one of our favorite restaurants in Prescott. We had such a pleasant experience! We ordered their organic lattes, an omelet and our favorite side, sweet potato smashers. Their sweet potato smashers taste like Christmas. Our server was Jill. She was so friendly and attentive. The Local is always clean and quiet even when it is busy. Well, I'll bring my girlfriends back for lunch! My Zeke's'-loving husband was not a fan-- side potatoes cold and no flavor, $3.50 upcharged French toast was two VERY small pieces. We tried this breakfast spot because of the many highly rated reviews. I'm sorry, but when the salmon omelette has maybe 2oz of salmon in it, a nickel size of garlic cream cheese spread and the 3 egg omelette isn't really an omelette (more like a soufflé) and you're paying $17 for it; I have to wonder what type of people think this is a good deal or even tasty. I suspect many paid, fake reviews. $45 total for breakfast for two. Also, don't pay with a debit or credit card as you will be charged a 3.5% fee. Apparently, another review mentioned the same credit card surcharge 9 months ago and the owner said they'd look into it. Yep, another owner who flakes on making things right. I don't see this business staying around for much longer. I'm sticking to The Apple Pan; it's smaller and service is slower but food has better quality and priced more fair $33 for two and includes very good coffee. read more

Great place! Coffee was delicious!! Food was amazing!! Very rare for me to not finish a breakfast meal (I'm a big dude), but the Biscuits and Gravy meal was an absolute HEFTY portion! Unlike any gravy I've ever had. Spices and meats and potatoes in it, that made for such a filling meal. If you're in the area and prepping for a day of hiking or something - you'd be crazy NOT to eat here! Wife's Acai Bowl was amazing!! "Best açaí now I've ever had!" This is my second time coming here. The first time I didn't pay and I had the tiniest breakfast burrito ever! Well if you're hungry don't order the "usual". $15.95 for two eggs, 3 strips of bacon, mash potatoes and a beget size French toast. Yeah they also forgot my toast as well. The water cup smelled like a dirty rag. Food was okay. We ordered the local with sourdough toast, smashed potato's and chorizo. They don't have hashbrowns which is weird. The toast was toast. Pleasantly surprised with The Local! We were in search of a breakfast spot not so close to the downtown Prescott area, and tried this place out. Decent size restaurant with ample seating. Our server was super nice and got our order right without even writing it down -- you know they're a pro and have great memory when they can do that! They have a decent kids menu with several options. Food was delicious and my eggs were cooked perfect. I liked how my coffee came with a spoon lid, and my creamer was cold. As you make your way to the back to use the restroom (unisex, and has baby changing table - kudos!) the wall in the back has the names of people who supported their kick starter. Upon entering and leaving the staff were super friendly and greeted us both instances. Would come here again! read more

Wow this place is adorable! Stopped in for breakfast while in town and was quickly seated and waited on by McKenzie who took good care of me. Ordered a latte and was happy to hear they have oat milk (along with regular, almond and coconut". Breakfast was the southwest sandwich which I changed up for scrambled eggs. Wish I could say I had the chance to try this place. Not from Prescott and I went out of my way to go here first thing in the morning. I even waited to check out of my hotel when I could have gone somewhere else that was already open. Checked the website for opening times and acted accordingly. Got to the place and the parking lot was completely empty. Thought maybe I was first but sure looked dark. Got out of my car to check and the door were locked tight. Annoyed, got back in my car and started looking for somewhere else. While doing so, someone came and walked in the employee entrance. Clearly people were there. But with no idea how long I was going to have to wait and wanting to get back on the road, I ended up at Denny's, sadly. You really need to either update your website, make sure you open on time or let the people waiting for you know what the hold up is. What a huge waste of time. read more

We are locals and eat out quite often. What keeps me from eating at the local more often is the surcharge fee for using my credit card. It's not like it's a huge amount. Their prices are in the upper level for breakfast or lunch We don't eat there as often because of this. I must say their servers are top notch and I always enjoy tipping them for that. Some times it's the little things that make our choices for us.There are so many restaurants in the area so the choices are vast. read more

The little cakes are literally little almost crapes type, it tasted great. I had their chicken fried steak with their unique gravy that had a nice kick to it. This service was friendly and always followed up on us when the ambiance is unique home style feel with its unique selection. Food is always amazing and fresh. This last time I ordered the breakfast tamale and a spicy Bloody Mary. It's was spicy *chef kiss* The Bloody Mary wasn't too hearty and had a nice earthy flavor. Ordered The Local for the first time today as my wife and I wanted to try something different and support a local business. My wife ordered the local wrap and I ordered the grilled cheese. Keep in mind, the total for my order without drinks was around $33. The good: it's a local business, that's always a good thing. The staff was friendly and attentive upon my arrival. The place is colorful and fun. The bad: the size portions of the food compared to the price is absolutely terrible. My grilled cheese is $12.95 and my wife's wrap was $13.75 and the size of them were ridiculously small. There was barely any cheese in the grilled cheese and the wrap was tiny with very minimal pieces of chicken and should've been called a salad wrap instead. The side of fruit we got had maybe 5 small pieces of pineapple and one grape each and one half of a strawberry each. On first impression the food tasted good but lacked in size in relation to the cost. This place has really good potential with the taste of the food but they need to adjust the price or the size of the portions. My wife and I were generously disappointed. read more

The Local is awesome. We stopped in for lunch and my husband and I shared the biscuits and gravy and the breakfast pot pie with sausage. The pot pie was a solid pot pie, though it didn't have any sort of breakfast-y twist, other than the sausage (which is an optional add on). The biscuits and gravy was the standout - SO good and really unique. For sides we got the loaded potatoes and the side salad - the side salad was weirdly good, with a delicious dressing. Coffee served warm when we asked for another hot cup they proceeded to take the same coffee out of the bottom of carafe and steamed it. It's hot now but not fresh. During our weekend trip to Prescott, we ate here twice! This place is awesome and is a must visit if you're ever in the Prescott area. I know I'm adding this to my list of places to eat next time I'm up there. Hopefully they open a location in the Phoenix area! I had the blueberry spelt pancakes the first day we went here. They're vegan and ALMOST gluten free. I'm a big fan of spelt bread so I figured I'd give these a try. I thought they were going to be dry and lacking in flavor but I was dead wrong. These pancakes were some of the best pancakes I have ever had! They were light, fluffy, and had an amazing flavor! My mouth is totally salivating while writing this review...they were so good! I also had a cup of coffee with my pancakes and the coffee was perfect...not too strong and not too weak and it tasted really good. Upon leaving Prescott we stopped here for lunch and I had their Beyond Burger, which was out of this world. It's interesting to see how each restaurant does their own thing with the Beyond or Impossible burger. The Local does amazing things with their flavors and if you're vegan or vegetarian, I highly recommend this dish. I definitely want to go back here because they have so many other things that look and sound so good. They also have a coffee bar and I'm dying to give their espresso a whirl. I follow The Local on IG and was craving brunch when I woke up and they popped up on my feed and I took it as a sign. There was no wait which was great because I was hungry. The staff were very and responsive. I ordered the southwest open faces sandwich and a grapefruit mimosa. The mimosa was very refreshing and had a good champagne to juice balance. The food was delivered very quickly. I got smashed Yukon golds as a side. They were missing some seasoning but after adding it myself I was very pleased by them! I got chorizo as a meat add on. I was VERY surprised with how good the sandwich was with my first bite. Every bite kept getting better and better. I am so glad I decided to come here. This is an excellent brunch spot and I highly recommend you come! One thing I was surprised with was the additional surcharge for using card. Granted it's only 3% but it's a little unexpected as I rarely if ever see this at restaurants. read more

Always love The Local! We have dined here several times for breakfast/lunch and have tried a few different dishes which have all been outstanding. It helps that the ambiance/decor are bright and filled with art for sale; the employees have also always been friendly and seem to take pride in working there. We were actually staying in Williams once and opted to eat here on our journey back home, so that should tell you how delightful it is. Keep up the good work! read more

We picked The Local based on Yelp reviews. The interior is brightly colored, and we were greeted upon arrival. We were on the tail end of the Sunday brunch/lunch crowd. Despite there being several empty tables, we had to wait a bit to be seated. I ordered the Local Wrap and my wife had the Farmer's Market salad. The wrap was ok. There wasn't much avocado ranch dressing and the chicken lacked seasoning. My wife's salad looked good, but again, the chicken lacked seasoning and there wasn't much of it. Also, it came in an asymmetrical bowl with a tiny base. If you pushed on the wrong side of the bowl, it tipped over. Cute idea but not very practical. We didn't get much attention after our food arrived, Then, when we did receive the check and handed over our card, we waited, and waited, and waited. Our server just disappeared. The gentleman next to us had the same issue. Eventually, he asked another server, but there wasn't any urgency displayed. Eventually she returned after 10-15 minutes, and we took off. read more

O. M. G. What a fantastic place. We'd been wanting to try it, but never made it over. Today we did it and am I ever glad. Our server was very sweet and knowledgeable. We started out wit a peppermint mocha, which looked picture perfect and tasted even better. The we ordered the Vegetable Pot Pie and added the pork sausage and loaded smashers. Holy smokes!! Delicious!! My hubby and I shared and still didn't finish it all. Who knew I could get my hubby to eat veggies.. FOR BREAKFAST!! The food is still quality and delicious but it's missing the small stuff like the carrot cake jam and bigger stacks of skinny cakes that you used to get. It's also so noisy. Looks like a all natural food store when you drive by..... you really have to pay attention to realize this is a restaurant....This restaurant is located on the corner of Grove.... I searched Yelp for a 5 star breakfast place to meet our friends on our last day in Prescott......"The Local" came up... it's all natural, & the food is delicious..... the server was very friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough good stuff about this place. We've been going here since it was a little hole in the wall when it first opened and now it's grown 4 times the size and it's no wonder why, the food is amazing! It's all good, but I recommend the broken yolk Sammie or the skinny cakes. They are both easily the best breakfast sandwich and pancakes I've ever tried. read more
