Tables are spaced apart well enough where your neighbor isn't eating on top of you, booths along the sides. There was a wedding rehearsal dinner outside, but we were seated in under five minutes. Food was good! A little bit of everything on the menu. Waiter was outstanding, even as busy as it was. They handled the crowd very well. The only detriment was the draft prices were a bit high for the area, but understandably, this isn't a typical 'bar' where you'd belly up and guzzle gallons. We'll be back! read more

We had our daughter's bridal shower here and absolutely everything Christian and his staff did for us was exemplary! Planning an event out of state is difficult at best but Christian was amazing!! We went for lunch on a Sunday. They weren't busy at all. We ordered the shrimp bruschetta and charcuterie for appetizers. They were so good! Definitely order those! I had the salmon and brussel sprouts my husband had the steak and lobster tail. Lobster was great, steak didn't have a ton of flavor. Salmon was cooked perfectly! Awesome restaurant! So I live up the street from this place and often see it busy. We tried take out one time and wasn't impressed with the food so hadn't gone in to dine. However almost a year later we divided to go on a Saturday evening around 6:45pm with our toddler. We made a reservation in case it was busy but it didn't seem super busy yet at that time. We were seated immediately. The server came out quickly to take our drinks. They had a valentines drink menu which I tried one. My husband got a regular old fashion. Both of us quickly realized the drinks are strong lol in a good way. The server was very sweet to our daughter and even made sure her meal came out quickly as toddlers aren't patient. We got the crab dip as appetizers which was good. We got the small size which was perfect for an appetizer for two. I liked that they had two sizes to choose from. I ordered the Cajun tortellini with chicken. I liked the grilled taste of the chicken. My husband got the salmon which honestly was one of the best tasting salmon I've had at a restaurant. We got the brownie to take home. The brownie was pretty small but tasted good. Mediocre at best, even atmosphere. $30 sirloin was very chewy and not of quality one would expect at that price. I took a lot home for my dog, as I did not want to fight with it. I had to ask 3X to bring my soup out before the steak, finally I asked a different waiter. We asked if they served bread, but they did not. One person ordered salmon and said it was good but it came on a large plate without anything else. We all thought that was strange. Once and done for me. This eatery is one of the newest additions to Stanly County. Everything about it feels fresh, new, and clean. They have gotten the "bugs" worked out that every new business experiences. Our visit was a good experience. The decor here is modern/industrial. It has a great happy vibe. The music was pleasant and not too loud. The place was spotlessly clean. They had a 99.0 sanitation grade posted. They have a huge bar that has neat blue underlighting. They have a very nice outside seating area. The parking is plentiful and freshly paved. The food was really good. I ordered the fire roasted salmon. I got the smaller portion. It was plenty of food! The salmon came out with a lemon beurre blanc sauce that went well with the almond crusted salmon. The roasted tomatoes were delicious! I got it with a side of grilled Brussel sprouts. A garden salad precluded the meal. It came with the dressing already on it. Their bleu cheese dressing was great. My date ordered a house burger. It was good. If you don't like heat have them take off the jalapenos. She got a sweet potato for her side. The sweet potato had walnuts and a sweet topping . It tastes like a premium side. Our server was ver attentive. She kept our beverages filled. Our orders came out correctly and promptly. We were checked on twice by the owner. It was obvious that everyone cared. You would typically imagine those things would impact the service, speed and food quality but it did not! Everything was amazing. The server (Redden/Red) was helpful, courteous, and friendly. We really enjoyed our meal. Food and choices were surprising and tasty. We arrived at 5:30 and seated immediately. However it was mentioned that reservations are usually advised as that same night after 6pm they could not take any more reservations until 10pm. So advice is to call ahead and make a reservation. This has been the most well run restaurant I have visited in Locust. They have a simple but strong menu with flavorful options and drink specials each weeknight. I like to get the half portions during lunch as the full is a lot of food. The service isn't always the fastest, however, the attention and quality of food make up for it. read more

Total disappointment. We waited for over a month for them to have take out. When they finally started doing take out I ordered lunch. Two hamburgers with mustard, ketchup and pickles, and some house parmesan seasoning truffle oil fries. They took my phone number and told me they would call me when it was ready (about 30 minutes). After 45 minutes went by I decided to go in. My order had been sitting on the bar long enough to go ice cold. The total was $34 (for two burgers and fries). When I got home not only was everything cold, but the burgers were plain. This place is very busy right now, but as soon as the novelty rubs off, they are going to be in deep trouble. All of their prices are way above norm for what you get and I don't see them lasting too long. read more

We were regulars at The Local Room and we have seen a drastic decline in their customer service. Tonight for Valentine's Day, even after a really bad experience in December decided to give it another try. Bad idea! During our entire meal portion of the visit, not one, How's everything, not one refill of iced tea. Nothing! Instead, we watched the other servers, who evidently knew what customer service is all about, ensuring their tables were satisfied. What was even more shocking tonight, the manager was disinterested and only used the coined phrase, "I'll talk to her". I at first said, this was strike two, but he sealed the deal for us. read more

I want to like this place! I have gone back so many times to "try it again". We always without fail spend over $100 and leave utterly disappointed in the food. They mean well, have these trendy dish ideas, but they just don't taste good. The shrimp bruschetta, poorly constructed. The southern egg rolls , super bland. The risotto - the frozen kind I buy from the store tastes better. I truly believe they use decent ingredients and have good intentions- but they need to find a better chef. Second chance, last chance. They've got a unique atmosphere and they offer great service but what they have for food has been disappointing both times. The first time we specifically went in for prime rib.. inviting friends, only to find out they weren't serving prime rib as they had told me on the phone the week before when I made the reservations. Apparently there was some food show going on somewhere else and so it impacted their ability to serve prime rib on their regular night. The food we did order was good. So weeks pass and we decide to take advantage of the Sunday brunch buffet. Not sure in what world that is considered a buffet. A biscuit sandwich some bacon, cheesy grits, potato wedges and what they called a frittata with a small bowl of fruit at the end. I understand they are trying to create a more fine dining type of atmosphere and experience. But if you're going to charge one person $20 for a buffet you best offer food with flavor, variety and satisfaction. Vomit in the parking lot and shrimp thrown among the bushes by the front door. And if you are going to enquire of any of your patrons as to their satisfaction you may want to enquire of all, when you skip one of only three tables that leaves an impression as well. read more
