We have been here many times and the food is always very good. Tonight's entrees were no exception. My chicken tortellini was fantastic. Unfortunately both my soup and the spinach artichoke dip appetizer were only lukewarm at best. Very busy that night so probably the kitchen was busy . Love that they extended happy hour throughout the whole restaurant. It is actually a very good deal and a great idea to make it available everywhere. Now the only big negative that night . The live music was far too loud as others have indicated. We are going there to enjoy dinner , the primary purpose . First time dining here. The place is clean. We were greeted as soon as we entered and sat straight away. I'd read rave reviews of the French onion soup - it was good, though I don't know if I'd order it again. The consume was thin in both texture and flavor. The onions were prepared properly and of course, it was served in a crock with the browned cheese on top. I decided to try a burger and had the Blockston Burger. It was cooked as I requested. The bacon was crisp, which I always appreciate! The BBQ sauce wasn't my favorite; it kind of tasted like Frank's Hot Sauce. The waffle fries were delish - well seasoned and thoroughly cooked. The mushroom burger was very much enjoyed by my friend. My dining companion had Carrot Cake for dessert and loved it. (I don't like crunchy veggies in my dessert!). The cheesecake frosting on it was plentiful and flavorful. The cake itself was quite moist and cake like vs the dry texture often found in carrot cake. First let me say I had an amazing experience here from the service to majority of the food. I had the nachos and mild chicken wings. The nachos were amazing but I didn't care too much for the chicken it was way too chewy. The ambiance is a typical bar feel with a little bit aesthetics. What a great local place! It is clean, great service and food is very good. We have just recently discovered this place. Each time we have bet. Their service and food has been great. Happy Hour here rocks! From 3-6 pm Monday-Friday in the bar area, I highly recommend! I had two well drinks and their Caprese Flatbread for $19. Select appetizers, including the flatbread, are $10 and it's plenty for a meal! It was so delicious I ate the whole thing! Definitely something I'd order again! I found this place from a quick search on yelp. I wanted to try a local establishment and this place was perfect. When I enter the ambiance is that of a local bar and tavern with great food. I was going to sit at the bar but it was crowded so I chose a table. Alex sat me and was also my server. What a great server she was personable and had a great attitude. Since I travel a lot I get to see the spectrum of servers and Alex is truly a gem. I looked at the menu and had it narrowed down to two items and I went with Alex's recommendation which was the chicken stir fry. Let me tell you her recommendation was perfect. If you are local or traveling you really need to eat here the food and service is exceptional. Make sure you request Alex' section. I know I will when I return. The service was great and the ambiance was good for a sports bar but a bit loud. The booths were a bit hard, but it could be the one we were in. The chicken tortilla soup was flavorful and the chips on top were really good. I also had the turkey club. It was phenomenal especially dipped in homemade ranch. Great place! Went for the first time today for lunch - table of four. Clean and bright - extensive bar and table space. TVs for sports but not too much to feel inundated. Great classic rock music playing! The menu was really extensive for lunch, as they offered both the regular menu and lunch specials! Something for everyone! The table ordered Cali Club Panini and sweet potato fries , two Maurice Saiads, and a Reuben with kettle chips. We felt all of the lunch portions were VERY generous and VERY delicious! The Maurice salad guests liked the chopped lettuce and clever pinwheels (order and you'll see!). Wait staff was very attentive. Prices reasonable. All guests at the table were happy to have another place to go that was not adding yet another bottom line fee to the bill. Just food, drink, tax - and add your tip! Great place - take the time and go. Get off Ford road and the (yawn) chain restaurant row and find this one on Warren near Sheldon. Recommended by my sister. As you can see the fries are just about gone prior to taking this picture. That only means that they were pretty good. I've had this place twice now. First I ordered months ago. Taking out a sandwich and second yesterday I came in for a quick bite and got some tenders and fries. It's not fair to rate a place on just tenders and fries because that's an easy meal. But some places mess that up! But they did well here and I don't remember being disappointed the other time I came here. Lets Dig Deeper: Personally I been on a journey to find some of the best chicken tenders. These are up there with good quality tenders I would say. Gives you that feeling of homemade. Not frozen tenders, even if they are frozen, these don't feel like that frozen tenders. You know the ones and I appreciate that. The bbq was good as well. Taste just like the ones Nikolas use or make. That is a bonus. Other than that great setting. We stopped in for a drink. There were maybe twenty people in the place. My husband ordered a Vodka Tonic and I ordered the special, Expresso Martini. It took 15 minutes to get the drinks. That was only after our server came and said, "You still don't have your drinks?" The server said something to the bartender and she finally made the drinks, both were AWFUL! We took one sip, paid the tab, walked out, and left the drinks on the table. This is our third try of this establishment, and never again. We will continue to go to the Crow''s Nest. read more

I found this place thanks to a widow Meetup group I am in. While I was there another Meetup group was getting ready to eat after the first one was finished. So I made reservations for my Meetup group to have dinner. When we were there, a musician was playing so our conversations was a little harder but the service and the food made up for that. All of us had to choose from a few things on the 2 page menu that made the choice hard because of great choices. I have a hard time finding shrimp quesadilla that I can customized so that was my choice. All loved their choices except the new gentleman who had the cheeseburger but he owns a food truck that specializes in them. The service is too notch and friendly. It's clearly popular; it was packed...and LOUD. It's all hard surfaces, so music and talk just bounced around. The service was friendly and attentive. We didn't need to wait long for food or drinks. As for my meal, I ordered ahi tuna as an entree, and I guess this type of fare is not their strong suit. It was served with wasabi but no sauce. I asked for soy sauce, and got that. It was tasty, but came with steamed broccoli. Our other order had sweet potato fries, with, again, no sauce. Not sure where the issue was. Went there for Mother's Day Brunch and was SO disappointed. I understand the price being higher due to the Holiday but it was NEVER posted on their website. Only post was for their Brunch they do every Sunday. We had four people in our party and they even added an automatic 20% gratuity (no notice of this anywhere) so our server got a $32 tip for bringing us water and the bill!! But the biggest problem was lack of food. We waited over half an hour for something to get filled and that was usually only one item. Most trays were empty which is totally unacceptable for a restaurant who does a Brunch every Sunday. I've been here twice for lunch since my last glowing review of their Sunday brunch. I was still impressed by the service, and the place was spotless-clean, but the food has really disappointed twice in a row now. Today I decided to try their "Cantina" because I've been hankering for a good burrito. The "wet" chorizo burrito came out looking fantastic, and the first bite was amazing. Flavorful chorizo with some tasty queso and a crema drizzle on top. However, the rest of the burrito was a bit tiresome to eat. It was about 80% beans and rice - and rather than spreading the ingredients, it was literally a line of chorizo (20% down the bottom part facing me), 40% beans, then 40% rice. So each human-sized bite was either all chorizo, all beans, or all rice. This wouldn't normally be a huge problem - but the burrito came with - you guessed it! - healthy portions of both rice and refried beans as my sides. I would guesstimate 90% (by volume) of what was on the plate served to me was refried rice and beans. Couldn't the chef go wild and put some onions or red pepper or green pepper in the burrito? Or live dangerously and put some sliced avocado or some shredded romaine on top? Maybe some diced jalapenos or serranos inside? Find a way to weasel in some diced tomatoes or cilantro somewhere? I expect Taco Bell to give me mostly beans and rice when I'm asking them to sling a $2.79 fast food burrito, but this was a $14 burrito. I expect a bit more from a restaurant at that price point. A star for good service and a star for presentation, but the food is why someone decides to go out to eat, and this food was quite disappointing, especially for what I paid. I will probably stick with other local options at lunchtime and come back for the Sunday brunch buffet again before the end of the year. read more

Wanted to try someplace new and settled on this with my mom. Intended to only get apps as we weren't super hungry, but the turkey club caught her eye and the Cobb salad looked good to me. Portions for both were very generous. Our server was great. They have Sporcle trivia on Saturday nights which was a fun surprise. Some fun fall drinks. Mom got the cranberry sangria and it was good. I tried the spiced apple cider but honestly it was disgusting and I hate to call anything disgusting. The bitters overpowered the whole drink and I couldn't even detect a hint of apple cider or spiced rum. Was pretty bummed since it sounded fantastic on the menu. I had another peach rosemary fizz instead and that was fine. They don't take alcohol off your bill even if the drink is bad, so just a heads up on that. read more

Met a friend who had been here before for lunch on Sunday and there as an incredible Brunch set up! For $22 we had: carved roast beef, an omelette station, fresh Belgian waffles with fresh fruit toppings, real scrambled eggs, Eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French Toast, biscuits and gravy, mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies, tater tots (I love), Mexican egg rolls, salmon with a pineapple glaze and breaded chicken cutlets plus fettuccini Alfredo, fresh salad with multiple fixins, fresh fruit tray and mini cupcakes/ muffins. It was worth the price in my opinion. The ambience is a classier tavern with seats at the bar, booths and standard tables- good for groups as there was a holiday gathering of 8-10 ladies there. Staff were very personable and professional, attentive at all the right times. I had a cranberry sangria which was rather "juicy" aka "good pour" My sister said they had really good coffee as well. The dining area was very spacious for those with mobility concerns. The only step I saw was either from parking lot to concrete walkway or you'd have to step over the parking "blocks" but minimal threshold and level flooring throughout inside. Facilities for guys and gals which were very clean. Noise level was minimal for having approx 20-30 people inside at 12 noon plus TVs showing football games. I was very pleased and surprised by this place, it looks unassuming from the outside: large windows for frontage but it's a great place for quiet lunch/ brunch, and I'm guessing pretty hopping on later week days and evenings. They have parking in the front shared with other businesses as they're in a small strip of businesses; possibly parking in back? Not completely sure. Just go! And have a good time! read more

My friend took me to The Local Tavern Bar and Grill for a night out. It was a Saturday night and there was live music. A young man singing with his guitar was very talented. It was a little loud with everyone talking louder but it was worth it to hear the music. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese which was so good I ate the whole thing, including the waffle fries which I dipped into the lobster bisque sauce on the side. My friend ordered the Conbroccoli Chicken Alfredo minus broccoli and cleaned the plate as well. We were both pleased with our entrees and loved the music. My friend who had been there before said that the burgers were perfect. We are definitely going back! read more

I asked for well done broccoli without butter and salt, but my request was ignored. The waitress apologized and said that the cooks don't pay attention to what she asks them to do.
