You get what you pay for, and more. It is a motel, if you have a problem with that, you might not be happy. If you modulate your expectations for location and price you will be thrilled. Checkin was efficient and friendly. Room is spacious and accommodations are much better than I would expect from a comparable motel 6 or red roof. Location is also excellent, close to road, good food and drink options within a short drive. I had originally given this a 4/5, but after writing this, it should be a 5/5.

The lodge was decent enough and had "no vacancy" for the weekend. We only stayed one night before moving on to our next destination. We got a room with my lucky number on it though. It was close enough of a drive to downtown Kennebunk. Unfortunately, we missed out on the breakfast due to having an early start and didn't expect them to accommodate us with a little bagel or waffle. 2021 #73

We recently stayed at this motel for 1 night. We drove about 30 minutes from Portland to here where we rested to get ready for another drive to Boston the following day which was only 1 hour and 30 minutes away. This lodge is near the highway which was very convenient. Our room included some cable, free WiFi and complimentary breakfast. The room was very spacious and clean. They even left us a little nice portable heater which worked very well. Also included a microwave and mini fridge in the room. I was surprised at how well kept this lodge was. Everything was displayed beautifully. The bed....was amazing! It was SOOO comfortable I wish I could take it home. We didn't get to meet the owners or people managing the lodge till the next morning before seeing them before breakfast. But when we did, they were extremely nice people and were very easy to talk to. The complimentary breakfast included waffles, cereal, yogurts, bagels, and some beverages. I'd definitely recommend this place

The reason I'm giving the Lodge four stars is because I'm reviewing it as a motel so please don't read the four stars as an indication that this place is luxurious. It is a really good motel and a great value for travelers on a budget, but it's not anything like a luxurious hotel. We recently went to Kennebunkport for a wedding and made our travel arrangements at this last minute. The cheapest place we could find that looked pretty decent from Yelp reviews was the Lodge at Kennebunk. There are a ton of motels with the word "Lodge" in the name, this review is for the one at 95 Alewive Road. We didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel room extremely clean - the carpet and finishings were cheap (plastic sink, berber carpet), but everything looked very new and was cleaned very well. The maids were there every day at noon on the dot. Service was very helpful and friendly. The owner is a really nice guy & the other folks managing the desk were really nice too. Some nice benefits are a continental breakfast in the morning, onsite bike rentals for $10/day and there is a cool easy path not too far away (the bikes are not very good, but hey it's $10). Helmets are available as well for the safety conscious. Guests are given a beach parking pass for the beaches in Kennebunkport. Outside there is a game room, a small pool, and a picnic area with several gas grills and picnic tables. There is a Hannaford grocery store not too far away where you can buy some good stuff to grill. Each room has a full sized fridge, microwave, and kitchen sink. There is no separate sink in the bathroom so the kitchenette has a medicine cabinet, which is awkward, but we were fine with it. The room was enormous which made it very comfortable to eat and hang out in. There is free wi-fi, cable TV with 100+ channels, and an ipod dock/clock radio. We enjoyed hanging out in our room during the evenings. My only complaints are that there is very little light in the room and the walls are pretty thin. Otherwise, I found this place a great value if you want to visit Kennebunkport on the cheap.

There are lots of things we appreciate: clean, fresh-smelling rooms, good AC, good blackout curtains, and good water pressure in the shower. But there's more: a very friendly front desk staff who prepare chocolate chip cookies every afternoon, a free hot breakfast, pleasant-enough pool (heated just barely by our standards) and a good fitness room. There are a few things that didn't quite match up for us: the hot breakfast is a bit hit-or-miss depending on your preferences; there are very few places to eat close by; and a trip to Kennebunkport can take 15 minutes with moderate traffic. Bottom line: we like Hampton Inns, and this seems a good one, the positives definitely outweighing the negatives, and it's fairly priced for this area during the summer months.

We were pleasantly surprised with the hospitality here and the amazing service and cheerfulness of the staff. Here is the summary of our 2 day stay at the Hampton Inn. My only regret is that I should have taken more pictures 1) Ambiance 5/5: The place is well maintained with a gym and pool and great rooms. The decor is great and the place looks immaculate. Its also close to some amazing beaches. 2) Service 6/5: I have been to many places in the USA and many other Hamptons as well but this has by far been my best experience mainly due to the amazing staff. Everyone is amazing but 2 people stand out - 'Sag' as she is popularly called - has been the most amazing and happiest person in the hotel that I have ever met. Watch out early morning at breakfast and catch her amazing singing. Along with her, the gentleman who works at the front desk at Night - whose name I am missing, was an amazing help! 3) Food 5/5: The place has one of the most amazing breakfast spreads. Along with this, they even had unlimited cookies available at night for anyone with a late-night sweet craving. There are many things for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians equally. Keep an eye for freshly made scones and pastries at around 8 AM - 8.30 AM 4) Value for Money 5/5: Some people might say this place is costly but for the breakfast buffet, helpful and delightful staff and unlimited cookies, this is a steal :) 5) Amenities: a) Great gym and pool d) Free parking e) Great rooms f) Delightful staff PS: My actual rating is 6/5 for an unforgettable experience. Definitely a must-stay place at an amazing location. Must Visit for: 1) Amazing staff and their singing 2) Great breakfast spread 3) Freshly baked scones and pastries 4) Unlimited cookies at night

Accommodating, helpful and very friendly staff. We bought some fresh oysters down east but hadn't thought of the oyster knife. Asked the manager if, by chance we could possibly borrow an oyster knife? Well, due to liability issues, they would not allow me to borrow the knife but offered to have the chef shuck them for us (after signing a waiver!.....I hate where our country is, but totally understand!). We listened to live piano to relax us during a raining and "trafficy" day driving from down east and Acadia national park. Just one mile down the road from Walker's point (The Bush compound) I was really hoping that we might run into 'W' and Mrs. but to no avail. The room was well appointed and a corner room with beautiful views of the chanel. Picture commercial lobster boats moored at bouys as the tides rise and fall with the hours going by. A rainy day to start lead to clear skies and a beautiful bluebird sky with white puffy clouds to accent. Breakfast buffet included in the stay along with free bikes to use as guest made our stay complete. I only wish we had more time to spend here at the resort! Huge thanks for making our stay complete and fabulous!! Cheers to you all. Oh, I almost forgot, they have a shuttle that runs out to dock square every half hour. What a blessing.

There was a floating sauna, lobster boat, kayaks, and bikes that could be used around the area. Shuttle service was also offered to take people into town and back which was a nice bonus. Housekeeping was great and can I say the towels were so soft! I can't say enough good things and would highly recommend this resort! You're going to slog your luggage to your room yourself, perhaps in the rain or snow, from the parking lot, and most likely up a flight or, heaven forbid you booked one of the rooms on the third floor, up 2 flights of stairs. There always appeared to be just one staff person at the hotel, handling the front desk. The inn is very convenient to dock square. We only drove to dinner one night, the rest of the stay we had quite nice meals within a block or so of the hotel. We stayed in the perkins suite on the second floor. Nice sized room. Roomy bathroom, good shower, decent counter space and several drawers. Felt clean and new, like it had been remodeled not long ago. You knew you were in an older hotel, but the room was clean and well kept. Comfortable seating in front of the TV. They've upgraded to a larger TV than shows on many pictures. It was easy to pull out from the wall and switch out the hotel cable feed for our own streaming device. Plenty of convenient outlets. Good sized fridge. Bed comfortable and room can be kept reasonably dark and cold. A small missed opportunity not having a few more pieces of furniture in the room. There was plenty of available space where they could have put a small desk for working, a bench at the foot of the bed, or a floor lamp for evening lighting. All of these would have not crowded the room and would have made the stay more pleasant. Continental breakfast provided is very basic. If you want to be in the midst of Kennebunkport action, it's a good place to stay. But there are many other great options in the area, and the lack of service, especially around help with check in/out is enough to prevent us from ever returning.
