I don't want to leave!! This place feels like coming home, and the fact that it's a little out of the way is one of its wonderful things. It's safe and friendly (and very pet friendly.) For years I've avoided making a review because I didn't want my favorite secret place to get out, and tbh, the first time I ended up here was at the recommendation of a local working at one of the major chains in town that happened to be fully booked the evening I was needing. The hotel managers and maids were very nice the cabin we rented was poorly maintained and very run down and it was apparent others were too. We had a cabin near the river which was lovely but our next door neighbor had a yapping dog and she and her partner were constantly out on their porch smoking cigarettes which was annoying and I felt like I had no privacy to just go sit out in our porch with my coffee and enjoy the river. They were even out there when get up at 5:30 am . The cabins are not cheap to rent so I was truly amazed at the condition which was terrible the pictures posted do not show you the true condition notice pictures if pets and trees and the river and blurred pictures small pics of the rooms that is because the rooms are decorated with whatever they had in hand. read more

Very clean, safe, and absolutely beautiful place. I found this place only because the commercial hotels downtown were full, and it turned out to be a much better place. So much so, that I stayed an extra day just to enjoy the peacefulness. This motel is very peaceful, situated along the river, and it feels like you're in the wilderness. You're surrounded by the river on one side, and beautiful greenery on the other, and you completely lose track of the outside world. The room is like a mini cottage where you get a kitchenette, and a spacious private deck. (I've added a photo of my room's deck, and one of a very friendly cat who lives nearby). There are places to sit right up along the river, and there is also a volleyball net and other such activities on the grounds. The people who run the place are very friendly, and nearby there is a seafood restaurant, small groceries, and about two miles away is the town center with conventional shopping. I liked the place so much that I plan to return. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing vacation. read more

Really sweet motel. The owners where personable and caring and made sure we had everything we needed. The retro feel was fun (we had number 10 with the kitchenette) with the back sliding door opening up to the river so we were able to walk right down our steps to stroll along it. The cabin was sparkling clean. Sparkling! It had organic coffee and really nice product (Bee Kind) in the bathroom. We would definitely stay there again. read more

I stayed one night at the Motel Del Rogue in July of 2020, and firstly, let me tell you that one night at this property is not even close to enough. Not only is the location absolutely spectacular (riverfront with plenty of space and seating to enjoy the view) but the family that runs it must be some of the nicest and most genuine people on the face of the planet. Before I get into too much detail, I need to share an example of the care and courtesy that the owners exhibit. I left my binoculars somewhere on the property, and made my way back down south on my road trip none the wiser. About a week later, I get a call from the Kevin, the owner, asking if I by chance had left my binoculars at the hotel. Mind you, I had taken them to the river and had no idea I had left them, but they belonged to my brother and had a little note "To Tommy." Knowing that there had not been a Tommy staying there that week, Kevin called EVERY PERSON who had stayed there until he found me and was able to send the binoculars back. I tried to offer to pay him to send them back and he refused, doing it entirely out of the goodness of his heart. I worked in 5-star hotels for nearly a decade and have been blessed enough to travel the world, and I can tell you that I have never seen the level of pride and care from anyone in this industry, nor anything that comes even close. The same pride Kevin has for his family (in the lobby is a framed article about Sylvia, his tennis star daughter who was there helping us throughout our stay) he has for his property and guests. The atmosphere of inclusivity and the inner beauty of the ownership not only resonates throughout the motel, but in everything this place is and stands for. This place is a vibe. It's right on the river and kind of in the woods so it feels like a cabin. Yes it's an older quaint establishment and kind of "rustic" but everything works and is perfectly clean. There was a fridge and coffee maker in the room (well actually fridge was on the balcony but we thought that was kind of cool) as well as A/C. Amazing family operated Inn right on the river. Beautiful spaces and comfortable beds. We brought our two dogs and they loved the balconies and the walks along the river bank. Watching the sun set and rise from the balcony was a great moment of peace in our journey. My fiancé and I were moving our lives from Texas to Washington and just happened to choose Grant's Pass as a resting place. We couldn't be happier with our choice as this Motel felt like a brief home during our trek. Quaint features and antiqued items adorn the entire estate. Feel free to disconnect and take a deep breath as nature and old-world aesthetics encompass you. Yet, modern technology isn't too far with Wi-if and a TV available in the room. If you are looking for a five star hotel, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a unique, funky place to stay then you've found your spot. We stayed in trailer #3. It was perfect for us - cute and retro. Retro as in orange counters in the bathroom, brown appliances in the kitchen and a cute vanity from the 60's or 70's. The beds were comfy and clean, with the exception of the twins which were kind of like roll aways. Great view of the river with a big bench swing that all four of us fit on. There is definitely stuff that needs to be fixed and cleaned up around the property (kind of like how a junk drawer or spare room collects stuff over the years). We make a point of staying here every trip we make through this area. It's a slice of heaven on earth. Peaceful and spotlessly clean. The owners are some of the nicest people and always so accommodating. Had a few girlfriends with me last trip....we stuck our camp chairs right in the river out back and spent the day laughing and having cocktails. A last minute visit to Grants Pass Oregon led to our visit. We researched a few nearby spots to hang our hats and decided the Motel Del Rouge captured our interest. 100% the previous comments/conclusions were spot on. The setting is fabulous. Our room checked all the boxes when talking about space and comfort. No doubt the ownership team deeply believes delivering it's guests a high caliber stay. We've stayed here two years in a row. The location is beautiful. All rooms have a view of the river from the balcony. Some of the balconies are large enough for a family dinner table and chairs. It's nice to dine on the balcony watching the river and the birds. All of the rooms that we've stayed in have a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Several of the rooms also have a larger fridge and stove. The rooms are rustic but clean. No weird smells although one of the rooms smelled like cigarette smoke so check to make sure that your room is non smoking if that's important to you. The motel also has grassy areas by the river and in the front for kids and dogs. We have some picky people in our group but everyone seems to like it here. read more

One of the most comfortable motel beds I've ever slept in. We had a private deck facing the river where we sat during the evening hours. Full size kitchen sink, gas cooking range, mini fridge, kitchen stocked with plates and utensils. A full size coffee pot! The owner was super nice and chatted us up when we rolled in. We were passing through and needed a good halfway point to stay at between Washington to California. I looked up Motel Del Rogue and was impressed with all the great reviews! I called to make reservations and they were so nice on the phone, they didn't require any deposit to hold the room. That is so hard to find these days and I loved that they trusted their customers to follow through. On our road trip down, Kevin the owner called us to check on how we were doing and gave us great directions to find the motel. Since we weren't getting in until 1AM and he had to go pick up new light bulbs for a room during that time, he told us that we could just get settled, rest and we could take care of payment in the morning. We were so impressed with his hospitality and trust! I wish we could've stayed longer, but we had to leave early the next morning. The room we stayed at was great! (#6) Had everything we needed and was clean. Kevin was there to greet us upon checkout. Highly highly recommend this cute motel for anyone coming through the area! read more

A charming, quaint 1930s autocourt lovingly preserved and maintained. Rooms overlook Rogue River and are very clean. Decor is eclectic re-purposed, tastefully refreshed. Microwave and small fridge plus coffee maker in room. Two very cool watch cats on duty. NOTE: Be sure to ask owner Kevin for wifi password -- despite his wife's reminders, he often forgets this, he says. These old autocourts (small cabins with attached garages, here long-ago incorporated into rooms) are disappearing from the travel scene. Excellent stay on the Rogue River! The location was close to all of the fun vacation activities and right on the river. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The kitchens and kitchenettes make it very easy to do as much or as little cooking as needed. We had a perfect stay there with a family of 8. Lots of family space and activities on the grounds as well as fishing right from the bank. The owner Kevin was more than wonderful and made sure we were happy without being invasive. read more

I had never been to Oregon and wanted to stay by the river. After a long drive, we stopped by an adorable motel, decorated to the tee, and quite expensive. It was also by the river although you could barely see it. My husband indulged me when I said, "No, this is not what I had imagined." Then we saw the Motel Del Rogue. It was quite rustic looking but very charming. The owner, Kevin, was extremely friendly, and allowed us to look at some rooms. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. Right on the Rogue River, patio under the trees, clean remodeled rooms and bathrooms. The grounds are surrounded with antiques and retro items. I love it! Another plus for me are the pet cats walking around the grounds. If we ever get back to Grants Pass, this is where we will stay. read more

This is truly a hidden gem. We were there for four nights, and will be back. It was hard to leave. The good points? Ambiance overload, rustic, heaven, charming, comfy, nostalgic The bed, comfy as can be, plenty of pillows, light and heavy blankets The layout - ours was on the small side but perfect and efficient, would not change rooms for the next trip Appliances, dishes etc - every one you would need, full sized fridge, some units have small kitchens, some have larger Location - out of town but not too far Quiet! Except for one loud neighbor for just an evening The deck, overlooking the river, comfy couch with cushions and table with benches, where we spent most our time Kitchen table for computer and mornings Two end tables at the bed, with lights (big score here!) Tables and BBQ's in the front of the cottages, great places to sit and talk. Wonderful owners, Kevin and Constance, grand people!!! We finally found some bad aspects, but let me tell you, it took a while and we almost had to hunt for them. Definitely one of the more interesting properties I've stayed at. You will find the friendliest owner of all time here. This property is very cute, quirky, quaint, kitschy, etc. For $135/night we stayed in #3, the largest family unit complete with a kitchen. I loved it, and found the whole place to be very comfortable, especially the sheets which were NOT the standard starchy white things found in the chain hotels. The view of the Rogue River was great, and there were plenty of old fashioned chairs around to lounge in. Guests can meander about with alcohol or whatever, and play with the complimentary badminton set, or maybe fish the river with the complimentary poles. Also included are complimentary DVD's and books... just pick one and return it when done. You'll feel as if you're at home and free to do what you please... The only reason I deducted a star was because of the shower. I hate to do this, but man was it bad. Worst shower I've ever had. Non-existent water pressure, a very, very old shower head, and terrible water temp fluctuation caused me to not even bother trying for another shower Saturday night. Horrible. I would definitely come back with just the hubby and stay in one of the cabins that face the river. read more

This place is outstanding. Beautiful, unique, memorable, friendly, almost out of this world. It's folksy but hip, Americana but old world, inexpensive but retro chic. Each unit is a complete suite, and individually decorated and cared for. It's what family owned businesses can aspire to be. If you're driving between San Francisco and Portland, it's the perfect place to stay. It's like a vacation every night you're here and it's just past half way, but in spirit--it's the best of both. Wow! Pass this one up unless you are looking for a rundown, dirty, worn out, bug infested, old motel. This place smells funky and the tap water runs brown! Everything about the place needed to be remodeled 20 years ago and it still does! 1. The water runs brown at first and then tastes like river water. 2. The place smells like decay. 3. The sheets looked slept in. 4. Lots of ants in the room and we found a big spider under the covers. 5. The calking in the bathroom is brownish yellow from..... 6. The furnishings wouldn't sell at a garage sale and might not be fit for a "free curb alert" on CL. 7. The kitchen was questionable at best. 8. The river access was over rated as was everything else in the pictures. 9. The floors were dirty and there was food on the floor which might explain the ants. 10. Even the parking sucked! It was exactly what I had been looking for on a road trip from South Orange County to Washington. The rooms are cabin-cozy and they have decks looking out to the Rogue River. I never write reviews, but had such a wonderful experience that I need to share! My friends and I stayed here with our dogs before hiking the Rogue River Trail. When we arrived in the evening, the property was so peaceful and quiet. There are lots of big trees, quirky decorations, flowers, and paths leading right down to the river. Our room was super clean, cozy, and stocked with everything you would need. The porch looking out over the river was lovely! Kevin and his family were so genuinely kind and cared about our stay. My partner and I actually called after hiking the trail to see if there were any rooms open. Kevin remembered me and welcomed us back so warmly.
