We commuted 1 hour to Fairfax (1st time) and during this pandemic, 99% of places that typically allow use of public restrooms are denying customers. My kiddo and I were thankful that The Lodge staff allowed us to use their "loo". We were also inspired that, per their signage, they support Black Lives. I like what the did with the old building. The Lodge is small but cozy. Food was average as was the beer tap selection. The owner has a bike shop in SF I was told, so the place is bike friendly if your looking to stop by after a ride. Only down side is that there is a bit of street noise being right next to Sir Francis Drake Blvd., but not a big deal. TV inside for sports. Parking in back is a very nice feature. Perfect place for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Solid crew that knows the menu well and takes pride in their work. They have a killer beer selection and wine selection. Cool place with good beer and games at the tables. If it were a bar it would be a solid 4 star but oof the food is straight up lousy. Tater tots were gluey, French fries were soggy, tri tip sandwich was over cooked, and the bahn mi was mostly bread. Definitely come here for a beer but go elsewhere for food. read more

I'm sad to give it one star because I had high hopes for this new restaurant. We ordered and were given our drinks, which were fine. Got engrossed in conversation and realized an hour later our food had not arrived. Asked the staff and they said "we'll check on it." Another 30 min and no food. Approached the staff again and they said "what did you order again?" 10 min later they reappeared to retake our order. We reordered and got some more beer. Staff made no offer to comp any of the food or beer. Some weak apologies were offered. It's too bad. I don't like having to share this but I think people should be wary of the service if you go. read more

Atmosphere is nice, however the tables were very shaky and not enjoyable to sit at. I would recommend the high tables. Food was very poor. We had the chicken spinach salad - the spinach was wilted, lots of dressing with salty cold chicken. The BBQ Chips were underwhelming. The TriTip sandwich was fine, but the food ingredients seem inferior. I was expecting they would have more locally sourced quality food - organic chicken, grass fed beef etc I don't believe there's a full kitchen/stove so they must bring in cooked products to the location. The staff never asked us how's the food or did you enjoy the meal. I think they know people don't come for the food. I would recommend this place for a beer and potato chips. There are other bike shop restaurants in town with much better food. read more

What a fun addition to the community with awesome owners and team working with them. We've been here after bike rides and for dates. Always fun and feel welcome. Last week we dropped in knowing we could stay for less than 20 minutes (sitter at home with kids) - starving but figured we would sit and enjoy peaceful coffee for a few min before heading home. Then Edwin came to the rescue! He was determined to get us fed and made it happen. Taquitos and taters with fantastic sauces and the coffee was ....amazing. Margee helped me pick out some really fun reddish pink Yeti biking shorts for an early birthday gift. All this in 18 minutes, no joke. Thanks guys -you're on our favorites short list! read more

Don't let the crowds fool you! It's amazing how far a decent patio can get you these days. The Lodge has always peaked our interest when driving by because it looks like a fun and "happening" place. Unfortunately once we bit the bullet and tried it we could not have been more disappointed. The food was awful and so was the service. After paying almost $50 for 3 tacos, a sandwich, and a splash of wine, I felt like I had just payed to get into a club. The coleslaw had rotten Romain making it taste days old, which for all I know it was. The chips that came with the tacos were Tostitos... really?! My girlfriends 3 taco order was wrong and on top of it all i had to wait in line for 10 minutes just to get a box because there was no service at all. The only thing this place has going for it is the outdoor seating. Think twice before coming here, I know I won't be coming back any time soon. read more

We finished a ride too early for the other place for food/beer in Fairfax (I won't mention the name) so we decided to go here and are we glad we did. The Banh Mi sandwich was great with a good combination of flavor and messy. My riding buddy had the sliced steak sandwich and liked it too. We didn't have anything else. This place is a real gem! We were staying in Novato before going to Bottlerock in Napa. Arrived late and were looking for food/wine. After reading the yelp reviews, decided to give it a try. Got there at 9:30 on a Saturday night but the kitchen had closed (the restaurant closes at 10:00). The owner graciously offered us salads which they whipped up pretty quickly. I had the Mediterranean with chicken and my husband had the summer salad with chicken. Both were awesome and really fresh. I had a Napa cab which was good as well. We spoke with the owners as they were closing. Really nice people. We'll most probably be back next time we're in the area. read more

Shout out to The Lodge in Fairfax for supplying an incredible community service during the power outages this weekend. When most other business were closed, they had a generator and fed the line that was out the door from before they opened at 7:00 a.m. until they closed at night. They restocked supplies TWICE during the day to make sure everyone was fed and hydrated. They turned no one away and did it with a smile on their face. And then they opened up on Monday, their one day off during the week, to make sure people had a place to eat. It was clear their motivation was not financial, but a sense of responsibility to the community. Great community hub and heartbeat. Thank The Lodge! read more

Really great casual local vibe. Food was fresh and tasty. If you are a local, you might feel like this place could become your Cheers...very friendly owner and staff. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to try to dampen the noise a bit, and maybe make it a tad cozier. The interior is a cool mix of reclaimed wood, specialty lighting, a creative spin on industrial style tables & chairs, but the feature element is the refurbished old bar. Music plays, while the bar fills with chatter, and owners Lori & Brian greet every guest making you feel right at home. The bar menu is spot on with special homemade tweaks to your classic bar food that makes them all their own. The pork BBQ sliders and slaw are out of this world good. I'll be a regular. read more
