The service here is friendly and excellent. (My boyfriend said I must disclose that I rarely give 5-stars and must have my mind blown for a 5, so this is a 4.) Had dinner with a group of ladies while in town for The Market Beautiful. We ate on the outdoor covered patio. Fun area with excellent use of vintage materials. Our server was nice and very busy that night with several large, very loud groups. He handled it well in spite of the challenges. I had the appetizer of steak bites with two sauces for my entree with a baked potato, loaded on the side. The steak bites were seasoned well and tasty. The baked potato was great. We only encountered a few issues. We tried to order a couple of appetizers and they came back to inform us they were out of both. The other rather awkward issue was when we were paying our tab in the bar because the patio area was flooding because of rain, another employee was helping our server with our tabs and she called him a little shit in front of us. The Loft has definitely evolved over the last few years.One of the better restaurants in the burgeoning downtown scene. The atmosphere feels like a "see and be seen type of place." The staff at The Loft was incredibly attentive. The food was phenomenal and the portion sizes were beyond our expectations. Much has been done to improve The Loft since my first visit over seven years ago and it's all good! Had the 20oz Ribeye medium rare and it was big, thick, juicy, and perfectly cooked! The suggested wine was perfect, though it would have been nice to see a wine list....Salad and Baked potato were very good as well. I still have a "problem" with the noise level in restaurants today and I wish people would use their "church voices" when they dine out, but it wasn't that bad! I was seated quickly for my reservation, but I have to confess I was put at a table for four and it was just me! Perhaps they could put a couple of "two person" tables somewhere, I felt like I was making some family wait! Service was excellent and no problems arose at anytime. I will be back! Been here several times and each one has been something I will cherish until I get old and forget about it. Whatever you get here is going to be very good, that's just a fact jack. Waited far too long to be greeted by a server and when the young man did come he took the order and brought the food with maybe one or two words, then crickets . . . . I was in town on busyness. I was with 6 other coworkers. The waitress was really cheerful and efficient. She took our drink orders. I myself ordered a scotch, to find out later they didn't have. So I told her any scotch would do at this point. When I received my drink (Scotch and water) it was tequila and water. Really? Appetizer came out, they were excellent. Everybody's main course came out except for one member of our party. Come to find out the waitress forgot to turn it in. Then our salads came out. The guy that didn't get food, didn't receive it till we were all finished. The food was great. We ordered cheese cake. It was excellent. After all that we still had to pay over $350 to get out of there. We WILL NOT return!! read more

The service was very friendly. That is about the only positive. Although it did have a good atmosphere, I was somewhat disappointed in the food. For an upscale, very pricey restaurant the food left a lot to be desired. One person in our party order a filet that ended up being so tough she could not even eat it. I had steak and shrimp and for the price, I was disappointed in the cut of ribeye I was served. My husband got the prime rib which he ordered medium but it was very very rare. Today I placed a to-go for mine and my husbands anniversary. We would've eaten there, but sometimes life has its way even when we don't want it to. Therefore, we ordered to-go. Our meal was truly delicious! I would've given a 5 star review if not for a few issues. When I walked into the restaurant I was drawn in by the beauty and authenticity of the interior. The natural laid brick wall patches on the inside and the humbling chic decor were quite mind grabbing. Very beautiful! Although a bit to loud inside for my taste, it was a very inviting atmosphere. Service was decent, I would say great but it took a moment to be noticed as a result of the hostess standing off to the side talking to a co-worker. Albeit, I'm unsure what about. As far as our order was concerned, I ordered the steak Alfredo with a side salad, shrimp bang, and bread pudding. My husband ordered the bacon cheese fries, and the steak and shrimp with steamed veggies and fries. The steak Alfredo was quite delicious, but unfortunately half the meat was raw in the medium when I ordered well done. I can't eat raw meat since I'm expecting, so I had to pick through it and take the raw pieces out. So half the meat was thrown out. The side salad was insanely large and I was so full I couldn't eat it after everything else (more for tomorrow!). The shrimp bang was wonderful! Absolutely no complaints there. The sizing and taste of it was well worth the price. As for the bread pudding, it was delicious apart for the edging being burnt and rather bitter. My husbands meal was wonderful- the steamed veggies were on point and the steak was massive and delicious!The only item not so great was his fries.. Both the ones with his steak and the bacon cheese fries. They were soggy and the portion was pathetically small (sorry, but it's true). They weren't very tasty either. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is the fries for my side were not quite cooked all the way through and a few were hard. But other than that the meal was amazing. I ordered the rib eye, medium rare. Sadly, it almost took a saw to cut this piece of meat. Lots of work. Staff at the counter was not overly helpful. Horrible service! We had to ask for everything at least twice. Spoke with owner and he is total jerk. He made excuses as to why it would take almost two hours to get salad and then later dinner. He never once apologized or tried to make it right. I told him his customer service skills were horrible. I stood at the bar trying to pay my bill and witnessed staff snapping at each other and owner snapping at employees. It evidently starts with the owner. I have never seen such unprofessionalism at such a high priced establishment. Salad was good, steak was seasoned well but a little tough, potatoes were great. It would have been a beautiful evening for my nieces wedding rehearsal dinner had it not been for the customer service. Do not take large groups here. They do not prepare adequately. read more

On a one month road trip. Without a doubt, the Loft ribeye was the best I had. My wife had fantastic grilled shrimp! The greatest surprise was the bloody Mary I had. This was the best version I've had in 50 years of tasting. It was so good I walked into the bar and complemented the bartender. Friday night dinner was a bit crowded but got seated right away on the patio. Each of us in our party of 4 ordered the 14oz rib eye which was excellent. Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Review would be five stars except for the long wait time to get our food! Server told us kitchen was slammed and while the food was worth the wait, an offer of a free dessert or something would have been nice to compensate for the wait. My son and his family invited us to go to The Loft to celebrate our belated Christmas get together. We had never been and was not sure what to expect without having a reservation on a Friday evening. The wait was not really too long but man oh man was the food and service terrific once we got settled in. We ordered the fried mushrooms appetizer and they were plump, juicy and cooked to perfection. My son and I got the 14 oz. ribeye and I must say it was a full 14 oz.steak, much larger than other steak houses we've been to that advertised a 14 oz'er. It had a wonderful taste, cooked perfectly to medium rare as ordered, super tender and no gristle. We also got the bacon wrapped asparagus in which they allowed us to order in lieu of a salad along with a loaded baked potato, which could have been a meal in itself and both were delicious. My wife had the grilled shrimp and loved it. Our daughter in law had the pork chops and our grand daughter had the chicken fettuccine and they both raved about their meals. The atmosphere was very casual and although we dressed in after 6:00 casual dinning attire we could have worn nice jeans as many patrons did and not felt out of place at all. The Loft was our kind of place for really great food, service, casual atmosphere and all at a modest price even when compared to major steak house restaurant chains. Unless you're white don't bother! I was meeting a friend of mine( who is black) and I got there early. I was seated by the hostess right away. My friend was late and I had no idea she was waiting behind the partition. She waited a duration of 4 songs and was repeatedly told she would be seated in a minute. Meanwhile, other folks (all white) were seated right away. Unfortunately I did not know this as I could not hear my phone when she was trying to call me to let me know she was waiting in the foyer. We've been travelling in the areas for the past two weeks and this restraunt is the best we've visited thus far. It's located in an old bank. I had their signature lasagna and my friend had their chicken parm. We were both very happy with our meals. The atmosphere is interesting, the food delicious, and the wait staff very attentive. This is the second time we have eaten at The Loft for an annuities program dinner. I divulge that we did not pay for the dinners, nor have I been paid to endorse either company. Fact is, as a chef I am very impressed with the rib eye steaks. Both times they were very tender, very large, and well prepared. The cuts are of very good quality and the seasonings were good. Having an event of over 30 customers served at once, I must say they did a great job both times. The house salads were fresh mixed green and the creamy, chunky, Blue Cheese dressing is real and truly blue. Very good. The baked potatoes are large and tasty but for me needed about 20 more minutes both times--I like to be able to squeeze them with no resistance. I believe them to have also been cooked in foil then removed as they were "steam baked". They also were a smooth skin as opposed to a russet. The sour cream was of good quality. Not sure about the butter, but could have been a blend or of lesser commercial market. My wife had the "Central (?) Chicken" a skinless breast which had yellow cheddar cheese and mushroom topping. I am a rib eye man so I had no interest in it. She liked it. I tasted it, was seasoned with seasoning salt and was juicy. I don't care for cheese topping meats unless maybe a burger. I know this type of dish is popular but it's not my style. I was not impressed with the rolls. Basically a thaw and serve that is not proofed properly thus somewhat dense and of little flavor. Both times the desserts were good. Overall, I would eat here again not only for the sales events but also as a paying customer when in town. Again, I was very impressed with the quality of the tender rib eye steaks and their preparation. I would like to see menu pricing but not sure I would pay more than $17 for a steak dinner here. read more

The food was very good - too much, but well prepared and quite flavorful. We went with the waitress' advice and got the flounder with a creole cream sauce - wow! The potato casserole was interesting as well but about 3 times what i can eat. Here's the problem. We ordered a drink. She came back and dropped them off and before we were two sips in, she brought the salads. Then before we had looked too deeply at them, she brought out the main course! We would have liked a bit of space between the courses, but apparently if she didn't get that annoying 'serving thing' out of the way, she would have forgotten all about us because that's the last time we saw her. When I reached my waiting limit I brought up a credit card, and said, "We haven't seen the waitress since she dumped our food, so please charge us and let us leave."
