Darn good burger! Fresh and cooked to perfection, even the fries were good. Highly recommend and will definitely return when in Chapel Hill

Went to The Loop in Chapel Hill again but instead of pizza, we ordered something we haven't ordered before: a $13+ BBQ Chicken & Bacon Cheddar sandwich (with choice of side, and of course, my girl's favorite salad: Caesar salad with tuna steak (instead of chicken). First of all, we're grateful that unlike most restaurants in Chapel Hill, The Loop doesn't close until 10PM. Sometimes, we end up eating dinner late, and we don't want to just settle on food from Cook Out or a taco truck. As expected, The Loop wasn't crowded around 9:30PM; customer service is excellent with no issues. Its dining area looks safer and cleaner than a typical Waffle House. BBQ Chicken Sandwich & Caesar Salad with tuna steak were ready after around 12 min. - seems reasonably paced for this kind of food. The side we chose with the sandwich was steak fries, and we asked for a small cup of Ranch sauce for dipping. Fries tasted crispy & Ranch is better than the bottled kind you get from a grocery store. The grilled chicken inside the sandwich was well-cooked, and the barbecue sauce & cheedar made every bite flavorful. The bun tasted fresh, and the bacon added a smoky taste. It's nothing fancy but not bad for the price. We shared both the sandwich, fries & the Caesar Salad with the grilled tuna steak. My girl squeezed lemon on the salad to enhance it with slightly sour taste. Our latest dining experience here proved that The Loop can still be an enjoyable and inviting casual place to eat after 9 P.M., even if we didn't order pizza.

    Strawberry Shake

Surprisingly good! Strawberry shake: Sweet, creamy, and viscous! The whipped cream was pleasantly fatty Cajun chicken salad: The chicken pieces were flavorful, the dressing was not too overpowering, and the croutons were crunchy but luckily not rock hard

I haven't been here in at least 15 yrs or more. Back then we tried it several times and weren't impressed. We thought after all these years since they were still around that things might be improved. Well, somewhat. We each got a chicken wrap, one just chicken salad, the other chicken tenders. Neither one was very impressive. A very big wrap, but nothing to write home about flavor wise. We also each got the French oinon soup, which is actually creamy, unlike any I've ever had before. That I would recommend. While it doesn't have the depth of beef flavor as traditionally made, it was still very good and a huge crock of it. In fact, with the size of the soup, we really didn't need the wraps and took most of them home. I would definitely come back for the soup again, especially on a cold day or evening. All that being said, there was a steady stream of customers getting take out, although not many that were eating in, so they definitely have an audience for their food.

Pretty good salad. I ordered the Asian chicken salad. I wish it had more of the toppings and more sauce. Overall its a big salad and worth the $10.

    Meat market pizza

The business is located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is a nice size with many tables and booths in the dining area. When you walk in your order is taken at the counter and you are provided with a buzzer to let you know when you meal is ready. You are provided with cups for self-serve drinks. There are three sizes for the pizzas. You can make your own pizza combinations that are charged by the number of toppings or you choose one of their combinations. We ordered the meat market pizza. There was sausage, pepperoni, smoked bacon, and beef on it. The pizza was not bad but I would not get it again. If I ever return I think I would order something else like a burger or a salad. The ones I saw in the restaurant looked good. While we were dining the servers were very attentive & took away dirty dishes and trash.

The restaurant sits on Franklin Street, right in the heart of Chapel Hill near UNC. It's a lively, walkable area filled with shops and restaurants. Parking can be a little tricky--we circled a few blocks before finding a gravel lot nearby (free after 6 p.m. and all day Sunday). Inside, the place had an old-school, authentic feel. The staff spoke Italian, which added to the vibe, and the red curved booths reminded me of classic pizza joints from my childhood. The menu is posted on the wall behind the counter, and you order before sitting down. We also noticed their most recent health score was a 99, which was reassuring. My wife ordered the chef's salad, and I went with the meat stromboli. Her salad was fresh, colorful, and much better than the iceberg lettuce you often get. She enjoyed it so much that she finished before my stromboli was ready. When mine came out, it was served on a pizza pan with a side of sauce--it looked and tasted great. It was also clear they do a strong takeout business, with lots of people picking up orders and the phone constantly ringing. Overall, the food was solid, the atmosphere memorable, and it felt like a local institution that's earned its recognition. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Chapel Hill.

The place was busy and had Italian music playing in the background. It has tables and booths to the side with the main counter at front and you can smell the food as soon as you walk in. It immediately makes you hungry. We were seated at a booth and offered their free focaccia style bread with an olive oil accompaniment, which was delish. The bread was hot and crunchy, but not too much where you could still dip it in the olive oil. We then ordered a personal cheese pizza, the lasagna and the chicken parmigiana (which I didn't photograph). Everything was delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and funny. I would def recommend coming here and checking it out.

Frequently understaffs, poorly trains employees. - Staff: Incompetent and could not even so much as look at a wine menu and spell it right over the phone. Overall, we will never be coming back to this place. Please support Sal's (which is just down the road), and do not eat here or support this business.

I don't know what they put in it but it's tasty! It's almost has this buttery like flavor to it. Impressed for something as simple as fries. The white pizza was on point. The crispness of the edges paired well with the garlicky goodness, cheese, and white sauce. I miss ordering by the slice! It sure reminds me of New York style pizza in Manhattan. They made several mistakes with my takeout order at a slow time of day. I find it suspicious since both of the mistakes were in their favor. 1) Ordered 3 pies, and they charged me for 4. As a customer, be sure to slow down and check the screen before you pay. They were definitely counting on me rushing through the order screen to tap my card. 2) Ordered 2 sides, they gave me 1. It was packaged up tight, so unless I slowed down to actually open the bag and check, I would not have seen they shortchanged me. They were counting on me being in a hurry to leave with the takeout and not checking. This was patently obvious once I came back to ask for the missing 2nd order. They hadn't even prepared it and didn't acknowledge their mistake. They really thought they were being sneaky. And frankly, that is the most insulting part!! I didn't eat the food (it was for a friend's big family), but the experience left enough of a bad taste in my mouth that I didn't need to. Not returning.
