Darn good *Loop Burger W/Cheese | Good **Basket of Fries

Darn good burger! Fresh and cooked to perfection, even the fries were good. Highly recommend and will definitely return when in Chapel Hill

Went to The Loop in Chapel Hill again but instead of pizza, we ordered something we haven't ordered before: a $13+ BBQ Chicken & Bacon Cheddar sandwich (with choice of side, and of course, my girl's favorite salad: Caesar salad with tuna steak (instead of chicken). First of all, we're grateful that unlike most restaurants in Chapel Hill, The Loop doesn't close until 10PM. Sometimes, we end up eating dinner late, and we don't want to just settle on food from Cook Out or a taco truck. As expected, The Loop wasn't crowded around 9:30PM; customer service is excellent with no issues. Its dining area looks safer and cleaner than a typical Waffle House. BBQ Chicken Sandwich & Caesar Salad with tuna steak were ready after around 12 min. - seems reasonably paced for this kind of food. The side we chose with the sandwich was steak fries, and we asked for a small cup of Ranch sauce for dipping. Fries tasted crispy & Ranch is better than the bottled kind you get from a grocery store. The grilled chicken inside the sandwich was well-cooked, and the barbecue sauce & cheedar made every bite flavorful. The bun tasted fresh, and the bacon added a smoky taste. It's nothing fancy but not bad for the price. We shared both the sandwich, fries & the Caesar Salad with the grilled tuna steak. My girl squeezed lemon on the salad to enhance it with slightly sour taste. Our latest dining experience here proved that The Loop can still be an enjoyable and inviting casual place to eat after 9 P.M., even if we didn't order pizza.

    Strawberry Shake

Surprisingly good! Strawberry shake: Sweet, creamy, and viscous! The whipped cream was pleasantly fatty Cajun chicken salad: The chicken pieces were flavorful, the dressing was not too overpowering, and the croutons were crunchy but luckily not rock hard

I haven't been here in at least 15 yrs or more. Back then we tried it several times and weren't impressed. We thought after all these years since they were still around that things might be improved. Well, somewhat. We each got a chicken wrap, one just chicken salad, the other chicken tenders. Neither one was very impressive. A very big wrap, but nothing to write home about flavor wise. We also each got the French oinon soup, which is actually creamy, unlike any I've ever had before. That I would recommend. While it doesn't have the depth of beef flavor as traditionally made, it was still very good and a huge crock of it. In fact, with the size of the soup, we really didn't need the wraps and took most of them home. I would definitely come back for the soup again, especially on a cold day or evening. All that being said, there was a steady stream of customers getting take out, although not many that were eating in, so they definitely have an audience for their food.

Pretty good salad. I ordered the Asian chicken salad. I wish it had more of the toppings and more sauce. Overall its a big salad and worth the $10.

The business is located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is a nice size with many tables and booths in the dining area. When you walk in your order is taken at the counter and you are provided with a buzzer to let you know when you meal is ready. You are provided with cups for self-serve drinks. There are three sizes for the pizzas. You can make your own pizza combinations that are charged by the number of toppings or you choose one of their combinations. We ordered the meat market pizza. There was sausage, pepperoni, smoked bacon, and beef on it. The pizza was not bad but I would not get it again. If I ever return I think I would order something else like a burger or a salad. The ones I saw in the restaurant looked good. While we were dining the servers were very attentive & took away dirty dishes and trash.

Lastnight, our family ate dinner there only to get sick from the muscles. 3 of us shared the muscles appetizer, which tasted great, but the three of us that ate the muscles ended up sick for a few hours later that evening and and next morning. Everyone else in the dinner party that had not eaten the muscles was fine. The service staff was over-extended. We had to ask the busing staff to get our waiter so that we could order and later in the meal to refresh our beverages. And finally, our dinner party was seated in the very furtherest back room that features an exit door with a large lit up exit sign over it. The room was not really fit to seat people at that price point. There are no sound buffers in the back room. It is akin to a large storage area with artwork on the wallks. There was no way to hear anyone talking at the table due to the roar of the sound bouncing off the walls. The room should not be used for seating at Tandem's price point. I rarely if ever give a bad review, but last night was really disappointing. My family came from Raleigh to join us and we had come over from Hillsborough. We were treating our parents out to a nice dinner - or at least that was the expectation. Otherwise the food was very good.

I think there's a sports ball thing going on somewhere, too. One person ahead of me and I gave the nice lady my order. As I've mentioned before, there is a nice adult contemporary soundtrack that is neither background or overpowering. It just hits, and you can chat over it if you want. Or sing along. After a nice bike ride, I stopped in and ordered their three shrimp tacos. I've had them before, but they seemed even more amazing than past visits. Were the shrimp larger? Were there more of them? (4 per taco seems about right!) It was such a lot of food (added to the hazy IPA) that I had to take the last one to go. It may last the night. Or it may be breakfast. The Firehouse Dog is a must -- bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right kick. The cheesy jalapeño dog is everything it should be: melty, spicy, messy in the best way. And the taco dog? Somehow ridiculous and incredible at the same time. The fries are crispy, seasoned, and absolutely addictive, but let's talk about the real stars: the sauces. There are so many good ones that choosing becomes the hardest part of the visit. Drizzle, dip, smother -- you literally cannot go wrong. It was freezing today outside and we were seated by the door. Everything was fine until the hostess propped the door open. They left the door wide open and everyone in the front seating area was miserable. I asked if they could please close it and I was told no. They said the hostess stands by the door on game days. So they really don't care if their customers are comfortable or not. That says a lot. They certainly could've made adjustments given the cold and windy day. But our waitress was kind enough to move us when a table opened up in the back. That was a big relief and much more comfortable. Now to their food. The bacon cheese fries were great but didn't have bacon so we had to get them to bring back to sprinkle on top. The ranch was excellent and we all liked the app. My youngest got a grilled cheese which he enjoyed. My oldest got a burger which he said was okay, but nothing special. But the real disappointment comes in with the hot dogs. My first dog was cold, like unappetizingly cold. The waitress was very nice and took care of it immediately. However, the second dog came out almost immediately. If you like a boiled hot dog that's reheated in a microwave, you'll like their hot dogs. But I want a quality grilled hot dog. We'll stick to our ol' faithful CH burger joint from here on out. And I hope next time your customers are extremely uncomfortable on a freezing day sitting right next to the open door, you exercise some courtesy and close the door next time.
