I went here Wednesday night after going to The Parlour bar down the street. After a few dark and stormys we were ready for some good food, and The Loop did not disappoint! My husband and I split a delicious pizza and our friends had some great looking burgers. I will most definitely be back next time I'm in that area. read more

We went to The Loop for lunch. Best known for its great pizza, we opted for something different and selected their Crispy Chicken salad and the Cajun and Jack burger. The burgers come with their homemade chips but you can substitute french fries or broccoli. You can also substitute fried onion rings for an additional charge which one of us did. You put in your order at the counter and get an electronic buzzer for notification when your order is ready. You get glasses that you fill at the dispensor in an alcove along with napkins and condiments. The drink choices include the usual cola, sprite and lemonade both regular and diet. Your order is individually prepared, no precooking. It is not fast food, but the wait is reasonable and you can start on your drink. We arrived just after 1 P.M. and the parking in front was filled. But not to worry, there were more spaces on the side and a strip mall lot is just across the street. There was a good crowd present when we arrived and a steady stream continued during our entire stay. Our electron notification device buzzed and we picked up our order. The portions are large, both the salads and the burger. The burger was on a large bun with sliced onions, tomatoes contained a plentiful helping of jack cheese with Cajun seasoning. The meat was hot, juicy and delicious. The salads were filled with tomatoes, onions, cheddar and plenty of chicken. All of the food was delicious and filling. The portions were large, but no one felt stuffed, but rather well fed. The noise level was low and tables as well as booths are available. Discounts are available on Tuesday and Thursday for seniors, plus anyone can join their E-club for news and discounts. Great taste, good selection and easy to get to, a perfect combo! read more

Pizza was pretty good with lots of cheese and a hand-tossed texture to the crust. However, I had to make 3 trips to the counter to carry out food to our table myself. Bathrooms were disgusting, and there was no changing station. I had to take my one year old out and change him in the trunk of my car ... Also, macaroni and cheese from the kids menu looked and tasted exactly like day old reheated Kraft, but for $4.95. Fries were cold. I probably wouldn't come back here if I was in San Marco. read more

Food was good for the price and the menu was impressive, however our party waited nearly 45 minutes for our dinner of just 3 meals. When I went to inquire about it, I was given a short answer to find our tray being put together, incorrectly. I politely brought this to the expedited attention who nearly started and argument with me before slamming down a side order of fries in front of me. I remember this place fondly from my childhood. This was a you can't go back. The well done burger was medium and the medium burger was greasy and nasty there was mold on the soda machine and when I said something the girl behind the counter seemed put out that we mentioned it. They never cleaned it while we were there. The busser a young senior was nice bit it doesn't make up for bad food and mold. So much for that childhood memory. read more

The loop is a local franchise and over the years have changed quite a bit. However, I am proud to say that they give a high quality meal. It is consistent. They also offer gluten free buns (udis) and gluten free pizzas. They are a great place for kids....or larger groups. I highly recommend them for most occasions. read more

I love The Loop!!! I have been going there since I was a little kid and have never been disappointed. Their milkshakes are to die for, especially the strawberry. All of the pizzas are really good, my favorite is the artichoke and bacon pizza. The croutons are amazing too! I could eat them by themself, no salad needed :) read more

I've been to Jacksonville here and there a few times and with different people and each time I've gone to the Loop in San Marco. This place is great. It's a family owned and operated chain, though it still retains a restaurant quality. You must, must order the tomato bisque. It's so good, you'll want to drink it. The salads are huge. I've had the Gorgonzola Walnut, pretty good. Their main fare though is pizza, and they make those well. I like their Spicy BBQ chicken, though their Sausage and Goat Cheese was pretty darn good, too. Worth trying for sure. Remember to get the tomato bisque. Get the tomato bisque. read more

So, this place is supposed to have good pizza? Really? I should have known that it wasn't going to be authentic when they didn't have any warnings about the deep dish pizza taking a long time to cook. It came out and was nothing like a true deep dish with the flaky crust. It was just a regular pizza, but the crust was twice as thick. It tasted and looked almost exactly like those little D'Giornos for One pizzas that you can get in the supermarket. And it wasn't even that hot. read more

The Loop is a great lunch spot for people who work in the vicinity. It's reasonably priced, especially considering the quality of the food. The food preparation is fast, although the seating is limited during the lunch hour rush. For the money, the loop is almost unbeatable for its quality and selection. They have something for everyone--their onion rings and milkshakes are insanely good, although I mostly stick with the Gorgonzola Walnut salad which better serves my ongoing resolution to fit into my pants. read more

Everyday those of us in the hospitality business have opportunities to shine during moments of truth. Sadly, the manager of The Loop chose not to rise to the occasion today and shine. I won a gift certificate at a charity event last year that was paired with a nearby theatre subscription. For our second show we decided to dine at the loop before the show, not realizing that the gift certificate expired a couple weeks earlier. When we asked the manager if they would still honor it without any hesitation she said that she could not and that there was nothing she could do, as she was walking away. The food was pretty good, but the condition of the building and especially the Men's room was as bad or worse than the manager's attitude. I have seen nicer restrooms in old gas stations. There was even a cushioned toilet seat, something I doubt is legal, not to mention it was the wrong size. We had heard good things about The Loop before we went so it was very disappointing that it did not live up to our expectations. read more

Not upscale but a comfortable neighborhood type establishment. Salads are standard in composition.The chicken of the chicken sandwich has remained somewhat rubbery as I am sure the meat is composed-processed into a standard portion. Cookies and shakes are ok. Stick to the pizza and hamburger variations for best satisfaction. In-served-eat-out all in reasonable time every time. A bit on the loud side with all the comings and goings in open space. Yes, I agree with Rick, even the men's room could use some sprucing up. Doubtless the same for the girls. The no tip part is something of a relief but leave a buck for the bus boy would ya? Miserly on the salad dressing. Ya gotta ask for a second thimble. All in all, ok for a not want to cook supper within close drive of all 32207 type. read more

I decided to write this after a nice trip down memory lane with a friend last night. If I didn't know any better and walked into the Loop, I'd probably give 2-3 stars, its generic, americana. Burgers, pizza, wraps, and so forth. Here's my probleml; the Loop used to be awesome. The Loop concept is supposed to be modeled after a chicago eatery. To that end, they used to have real deep dish pizza. It wasn't as deep as some, but it was the most legit you could find in Jacksonville. The burgers were similarly awesome hand pattied bohemoths. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but somewhere down the line, the ownership decided that food taste wasn't a priority. First to go was the pizza, and then, a few years later, the death knell was tolled, and the loop switched to pre-pattied burgers. I tried one of these abomonations and this is my tale. Ordered a mushroom swiss burger with no LTOP (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle), and was asked for a temp preference. Usually this question implies a quality meat product. I said Medium, not realizing this was a store bought freezer patty. When my burger arrived, the first thing I noticed was that it only covered about half of the bun. Then I noticed that the LTOP was on my plate, but no mushrooms. I asked for the mushroom and was immediately brought some in a small container. Unfortunately no one checked the mushrooms, and they were in fact still frozen solid. I pointed this out, and the mushrooms was brought out again, this time after being nuked for a while. FYI, never microwave cooked mushrooms, it changes the taste and they're awful. I decided to forgo the mushrooms and just try the burger. It was more like a charcoal briquette thana burger. I sent the burger back. Seeing that it was a pre pattied burger, as asked to the replacement to be cooked well done, just not blackened. 5 minutes later, I was delivered an actual mushroom swiss burger. Apprehensive, I cut into it; it was totally raw inside. I then walked up front, got my money back and left. 3 tries to make a burger is enough. read more
