I have eaten hamburgers all over the world and with the exception of a handburger (that is what I called them when I was 7) that my neighbor would make, "The Loop's" hamburgers are the best. I know people love it here, but I really think it tends to be overrated. But let me clarify... back when I was in high school and didn't care about my diet, I loved this place. Their pizzas (especially the bbq chicken), their chicken tenders, and tomato soup are all delicious. Actually, all of their pizzas are very good (we commonly order 4-5 for the office when the bosses are buying lunch). Really cooked well with innovative ingredient combinations. Now, I'd like to visit the Loop for work lunches, but I usually try to keep those pretty healthy/inexpensive. The salads here are a crock. Overpriced and generally jut unimpressive. Same with their salad dressings. I think they used to have real grilled chicken on their salads, but the last time I got it on my salad, it was like publix deli shaved chicken breast. My advice is if you are going here to splurge on the cals and the $$, the Loops a great option. If you are hoping for something healthier, don't waste your time here. read more

The Loop is delicious and consistent. I've been there several times, and it's always good. Like others have said: TOMATO BISQUE. Very VERY tasty!!! I also recommend the pizzas (of course), the burgers, and my favorite, the Chicken Caesar Wrap with a cup of soup! My big sis was in the mood for a good burger so we hit up the Loop before heading out of town on Sunday afternoon. It had been a while since either of us had visited this local Freakville favorite and we are glad we did. I don't know if it was a combination of us being hungry and having great memories from this place but the food was outstanding. She had the bacon cheeseburger and said it was one of the best burgers she has had in a long while. The fries were crispy and tasty too. I had the Gorgonzola Walnut salad which was delicious. I am not sure what kind of dressing it was but it was superb. I also had to have an Oreo Milkshake because even though it does match well with a salad lets face it, they do have the best shakes in town. Again I was not disappointed as the milkshake was out of this world. Service at the counter was top notch and the location was very clean. Came here after the Wine and Chocolate 5k. The place was very cold which made for an uncomfortable dinner. I ordered a cheese pizza, glass of white wine and French fries you share with my friend. The food was good. Pizza had more dough than sauce/cheese and fries were thick and yummy. Now time the wine...omg the wine waa horrible. It burned my throat at first sip. It tastes like liquor instead of wine. I questioned the lady that poured the wine at the counter, her response was "well this is The Loop" as if they don't have good wine. She went to the counter and she could hear a man say to a women "I got this one" he was very rude to her and made her pay the full adult price for kids drinks. This location is where all the magic began in the early 80's.The offerings are good and simply the highest quality. I'M from Chicago I know the pizza well. Loop's is the real deal. People often compare loop to pizza Unofficial. My personal preference though I think pizza unofficial is very good I prefer loop. What ever your hungry for loop has answer for you. My only disappointment in the loop is the discontinuation of the Chicago dog which when they started they were getting hotdogs from vennia sasuage in Chicago. I miss them. Ordered uber eats and they didn't give the driver items from my order. I called since uber eats doesn't have a phone number you can get ahold of a real person apparently and they said they would contact them and have a driver bring the remaining items of the order. Hour passes and no correspondence. I call to check in and they said a driver was on the way to pick the items up. More time passes and I call back and the girl that answers the phone says that uber eats never sent a new driver and no new order was placed for the missing items and did not even apologize. If anything she was snarky and rude. I'm super pregnant. My kid went without her food and I'm not a loop customer anymore. Or uber eats for that matter. Just FYI. It's incredible to find a place in Jacksonville in this day and age where child labor laws do not exist. Not a single employee seems to be over the age of 15. The food is normally pretty solid but I have to say that these children really struggle with their customer service skills. Almost nobody addresses you or speaks to you when you enter the restaurant. In the year and a half that I have ordered delivery from this restaurant it has not been correct even a single time. I've often had to call the restaurant about a missing item. And then no remedy is offered other than for me to come and pick it up myself. Just tonight we ordered two Oreo milkshakes and upon arrival they had made one Oreo and one chocolate. Also the last time I ordered a salmon sandwich with Cajun seasoning they literally gave me a plastic container with the dry seasoning on the side. I first tried the loop while I was out with my brother, and I was impressed with the quality of their burgers. I loved it so much that I invited my mom and went again. The redecorations are a wonderful and contribute to the overall vibe. Service is prompt and excellent. Burgers were cooked to perfection. Well I was reluctant to write this as I am a local in the neighborhood. The last 4 times I have ordered take out I was told it would be 20 min and it actually took 45 min plus . Even if your just getting French fries and a shake your going to wait 45 min ! Be prepared to wait . If you order shakes be prepared to wait even longer . They will let your food sit and get cold to make your shakes which takes about 10 min. I don't understand why they don't just put the shakes already made in the fridge FIRST. They make your food and then make you sit and wait to make your shake . My orders are not correct , missing food , burger was very rare not medium. Spent $92 fucking dollars to get cold food and melted shakes with no napkins ( asked for extra ) and no silverware ! Rant over . read more

I'm not in love with this place but when your movie at the San Marco doesn't start for another 2 hours, and you're thirsty from a stroll around the square or triangle as it may be, it's a good place to grab a nice cold New Castle. Best ever! I grew up with this place, always coming here with friends and family and it's never failed to disappoint. Their Oreo shakes are DELICIOUS and their burgers are phenomenal! I personally love their crispy chicken salad, I always eat every last bite! My mouth is literally watering right now just thinking about how good their food is. Prices are also low. Whenever I go there with my mom, she always gets a cheeseburger and myself a salad and total I think it costs about $20. Good food for a good price! Doesn't get much better! read more

I opted for the BBQ, Bacon, and Cheddar Burger, which was pretty good. The Burger had thick slices of Caramelized Red Onion, which gave it a kick, but a very taste one. My fries were definitely lacking in the flavor and temperature department, but the Burger made up for that. read more

I think we have inconvenienced the young lady taking our order. She did not appear very pleased that we showed up to eat food. The soda machine was broke, and although we were dining in, all of our food was in "to go" containers. Upon further observation, so was everybody else's in the dining room. Despite this being my 12th year in Jacksonville, tonight was my first time dining at The Loop. Shocking, I know. I had often heard talk of The Loop's delicious burgers, pizza, and milkshakes but had simply never had the opportunity or taken the initiative to go there. Anyway, I had a medium-cooked burger with Swiss cheese and dressings and steak fries. I find the Loope after doing missionary work in Nepal for my ward. The food is good delicious and the wonderful server are even better. The place has such a warm vibe and I enjoy to eat Loup food every Sunday after school. The chicken tender are my favorite meal and the sauce make it delicious to eating. Timing is everything, if you are on a tight time crunch forgo this location. Put in a to-go order for my wife who works 8:30 to 5:30 went to go pick up the order during her break after she's waited the stated amount of time 15mins( for a grilled chicken wrap...) she waited inside close to 10 minutes and never got her food because she had to return to work. After only a light breakfast she will now go the rest of the day without eating. I have been frequenting the loop since I was a little kid. I have been to locations in Mandarin, St John's County, the Beach, Baymeadows & San Marco. Each serves quick, quality food at a decent price. Some of my favorite's at the loop are: tomato bisque soup (so creamy & rich!), crunchy broccoli salad with sweet red wine vinaigrette (vegetarian), spicy cilantro chicken pizza, spicy cajun chicken sandwich. The steak fries are always hot & salty & they make their own croutons for the salads. For dessert, you can't go wrong with an oreo milkshake. It usually has real whip cream on top & large chunks of oreo inside....very good. The Loop is a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. read more

The Loop gets five stars for one menu item alone, and that is the Oreo Milkshake. If there is one dairy-oriented beverage that could possibly be the symbol for growing up in the suburban sprawl of Jacksonville, it is this very beverage. If you get it to go, they will even still throw an Oreo cookie in the top of the Styrofoam cup, and smoosh the lid down over it, making it impossible to get any milkshake through the straw. But this is okay, because that's what you have to deal with when you get an Oreo milkshake to go from The Loop. read more

Always solid after so many visits. Nothing is really stand out for me. The burgers, pizza, and salads are all quite good, but this isn't a venue of choice for me. The pizza is usually too greasy, the salads (even mixed green ones) tend to have too much iceberg type lettuce, the burgers are solid two standard deviations below what is regularly available in California. There really isn't any service - it is pay and grab a buzzer/number. Milkshakes are a big hit, but I rarely have the appetite for junk food plus milkshake. read more

The Loop actually is one of my faves for lunchtime fare. This location gets very crowded around lunchtime but the food is always consistant, hot and fresh. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer than you may like around lunchtime so Ive learned to keep it simple. I normally get a Loop burger with swiss. Its always cooked perfectly..If you ask for medium, thats exactly what you'll get. So expect the pink. The brocolli for a side is agood choice, its always salted just right. Smetimes I'll be a good boy and get a salad. The spinach salad is my fave. It has mushrooms and purple onions with red wine dressing. Great taste and always fresh. Tell them to add some grilled chicken for an even better taste..Prices are moderate. Expect to pay around $10 for lunch. read more
