Ate here yesterday for lunch, the restaurant was pretty busy but that's to be expected for a beautiful Saturday. You walk up to the counter and place your order. We had a medium pepperoni pizza and my boyfriend ordered a house salad with Italian dressing. Once you order you pay at the register and they give you a pager and you go seat yourself. There are plenty of tables to sit at but I can see how it might be an issue to get a table if they were really packed. About 10 minutes later our pager went off meaning our food was ready, usually you would walk up and get your food but a nice gentleman who works there actually saw our pager go off and went and got our food for us and brought it back. The pizza was honestly some of the best pizza I have had in Winston and my boyfriend also thought that same and he really enjoyed his salad too. The pizza just came out of the oven because it was really hot! It's a very nice priced place I think for everything we paid $21 which isn't bad for a Saturday lunch. They also have outside seating for when it warms up a bit! I had been to the loop a few years ago and wasn't crazy about it but this time it was so much better! I will say it did get pretty loud in there as there isn't a whole lot to cut down on voices echoing. read more

The service is so great- there is one man who is just a beam of light an always brings my friends and I our food even though it is totally not a waiter/ waitress joint. I have actually only ever gotten the burger, but it never disappoints. I always get the southwest burger and it comes with fresh jalapenos! One complaint is that they do up-charge for the sweet potato fries, but having said that they are really good. Also great milk shakes! Growing up in Kernersville, the loop was always a favorite. However the Winston-Salem location is downright horrible. Today was the 4th time I have given it a chance, and it will be the last. First of all, they never get your order right. My colleague and I ordered an entree with a side of soup each. The manager brought out one cup of soup and asked if we were missing anything...I thought...no we're sharing this cup of soup..? The previous time I waited a half hour for my wrap, which I saw sitting on the counter for at least twenty minutes. The prices are outrageous, and the booths are duct taped. This time, a loiterer went table to table asking for money, the manager never saying a word. The cashiers finally gave her a drink. I do think a restaurant should give a needy person a simple meal, but to allow them to go table to table asking for money is ridiculous. We definitely felt unsafe at times. read more

We had dinner here on a Friday just before the dinner rush. My family shared the bbq chicken pizza, bbq cheeseburger, and a milkshake. The staff was really nice. The pizza was delicious. It had a pesto base which is different. I liked the burger a lot. It is chargrilled and they cook it to order. The bbq sauce has a kick and the sauteed onions were a great topping for the burger. I enjoyed my meal here. This is what I'd consider a "fast casual" restaurant- order at the counter, self-serve drinks, but food is delivered to your table and bussed for you. My family went here with a Groupon that covered 4 drinks, 4 salads and a pizza with two options to share. We walked in around 8:30pm on a Wednesday, and were "promptly" greeted by a girl behind the counter. She asked, "What can I get for you?" I followed up with, "Hi! How are you?" The other odd part about the prompt greet, we were about halfway from the door to the counter and still had about 10 steps to go before we reached the counter. Perhaps the most over-zealous greet ever. Anyway, she was nice. I ordered the Artichoke and Bacon Pizza, which has a pesto base, but it's not too powerful. The tomatoes, portobellos, olives and artichokes were very good, but the bacon seemed to be missing. It was on there, about 20 small crumbles all concentrated in the center of the pie. So the first bite of each slice was pretty good. The rest of the pie was a nice vegetarian pizza. If Bacon is in the name, it really should be more prominent in the dish. But it was a good pizza. The dining is starting to show it's age. Walls need some cleaning and a fresh coat of paint is really all that's needed. Handwritten signs are just a pet peeve of mine, and they had several. My mother and I visited The Loop for lunch on a Friday, and we ordered dine in. I got the Southwest burger cooked well done, and my mother got the Fresh Mozzarella pizza (menu description says "w/tomato sauce & fresh basil"). We waited for about fifteen minutes, and then I picked up our order. They gave me a chicken patty instead of a burger patty (the menu only offered the Southwest as a ground beef burger order). They gave my mother a regular cheese pizza with a single piece of basil on top. For the $12+ we payed for each, we were very disappointed due to the mistakes and false menu descriptions. I returned the chicken sandwich, and they took my dish and put the burger patty on the same bun. The fresh chips were no longer hot by the time the mistake was fixed as they were not replaced. They also informed us the "fresh basil" is just a singular piece. The cashier was also not very friendly. Would not recommend. read more

The loop is one of my go-to quick eat spots in Winston. It is a similar layout to Panera, Zoe's, etc. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer and wait for your order to be ready. My favorite thing to get here is the garden salad with chicken. The chicken always has good quality. I've also had a burger here, it was good but wouldn't come here specifically for that. Being the sweet potato connoisseur that I am I couldn't post a review without mentioning if you love sweet potato fries as much as me - they have really good ones, BUT they put cinnamon/sugar seasoning on them so if you don't like that I wouldn't get them. read more

This happened tonight. My wife wants me to be sure to say her pizza was great. There. I said it. So, I just left there, and was sorely disappointed in my meal. I got the BBQ bacon chicken sandwich and the chicken was raw. Because of the dim light I couldn't tell by the looks, but it definitely tasted weird. My wife kept asking me why I was looking at my sandwich. I finally got to the thicker part and, yep, my worst fears were confirmed. I take what's left of my sandwich up to the front and a nice young lady said she would get the manager to come talk to me. He never did. I ordered a veggie GF pizza and fries. I asked for the fries to be crispy and seasoned and they weren't. The gluten free pizza was burnt around the edges and when I asked for two toppings to be replaced with a different two.... well let's just say those new toppings were goat cheese and it was just a sprinkle, and no Alfredo sauce (second topping) was not even on my pizza). I ordered through door dash and there is a way for me to be contacted if there was an ingredient they didn't have and I was never contacted so they either didn't put it on or they didn't have it. Quite a disparity in reviews. My experience places me firmly in the camp that this place is highly overpriced for food that is average at best. Except the fries. My daughter loved the fries. But the pizza...not so much. The crust had a decent flavor and was soft. The toppings, however, were meagerly portioned-- very few pepperonis and mushrooms. The garlic was pathetic--very sparse and flavorless. The nadir of the pizza was the sauce-- it tasted like it was straight out of a mass produced, cheap, low quality food service can. Overall good quality from The Loop. It had been years since I had last eaten here and was very glad to see quality had not gone down- in fact, it had risen. I highly enjoyed my grilled chicken sandwich and chips. I also got a chocolate shake which was delicious, just a little overpriced for my taste. After a few years of eating here, figured it's time to review. The Loop is OK. Good for families especially small children. Burgers and pizzas. Nothing too extraordinary about the food. My burgers have ranged from "pretty good" to "a bit overcooked". Pizzas are generally the safe bet, but the sauce or toppings won't win any contests. The salads are a bit underwhelming. The staff can range from cheery and helpful, to young and confused. Just depends on who's manning the counter. It can get busy at lunch - but no fear - the lines moves fast and food comes out quickly. From 5-6 it tends to be family hour (unofficially) so if are sans kids and want a quiet(er) dinner, you may shoot a little later. 3 stars PS. I purchased a Groupon deal a year ago - 12 pre-paid pizzas for about half the price. The deal never really came together because the management didn't really know how to fulfill all those pizzas. Every time I came in to claim one of my 12 pizzas, i had to re-explain the Groupon deal to the person at the counter. In the end, I got about 10 of my 12 pizzas and was informed the last time I went in, that "that deal expired last year". read more

I came here because of a $17 Groupon for a large pizza with 2 toppings, 4 house salads, and 4 drinks. I thought the pizza was flavorful and soft, the salad/dressing was fresh and balanced, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It wasn't crowded at all at 2:30PM on a Thursday and our service was quite fast. The pizza dough is a "soft" variant but I found it to be very delicious. I'm usually a deep-dish kind of guy but this thin, soft thing was actually quite enjoyable. We had pineapple/ham on one side and tomato/olive on the other side. If you include the salads, it'd be enough food for 3 guys or 2 guys+2 girls. It's a Panera Bread style restaurant where you grab the food yourself and grab your own plates (although I'm not sure where you bus your own plates) so it's not bustling with waiters (which I really like).
