Always enjoy the version of Cajun not at all the real Cajun but a fast food type version but it's good and well priced never disapointed

Very good food. They serve a small sampler of their gumbo & Cajun classic that's brilliant & a good starZesty cocktail & Cajun sauce. I really enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, fried oysters & lobster bisque . Great service! Price is right. I highly recommend the Lost Cajun. Another fantastic dining experience yesterday, 7/20. On previous visits I have enjoyed the catfish, gator bites, fried pickles & Spicy sausage but I have made the shrimp cocktail, lobsta bisque & oysters my regular @ The Lost Cajun. The food & service are top notch. The entire staff have been friendly. The cooks REALLY do a fine job of preparing a tasty meal. Tried this place on a cajun craving. Started off with a great sampler platter of Cajun and seafood dishes. We got the Boudin and Hush puppies. Both came out quickly and were tasty. Our entrees arrived shortly after. I got the crab cake pasta and my boyfriend got the voodoo pasta. Both looked and tasted great but the sauce was very thin. My crab cakes were a bit soggy. Overall, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was fit for a Cajun restaurant, and the food settled my Cajun craving, but I didn't feel the prices were fair. read more

Fantastic selection of soups and gumbo, and they gave us a complimentary cup sampler of the different varieties so you don't need to roll the dice on what you want. The lobster bisque and seafood gumbo were both fantastic, as was the shrimp poboy I ordered. read more

I posted a review several months ago but just tried their newest item grilled oysters. Had the original but they let me taste the one with jalapeños and bacon.....wow! This is a great addition to an already tasty menu. I think the spice level is right on for Amarillo but one can always add additional spice from condiments on table. Some of my other personal favorites are the ettoufee and the red beans with sausage. Amarillo's swing into fall made a cup of gumbo a perfect side. The sampler board allows you to taste the various offerings and pick you favorites. The beer sampler was good but the hurricane was delicious. Always friendly staff greeted me with a welcoming smile. The repaving of the highway is almost over so I encourage everyone to come by and try some great Cajun cooking. read more

This is what Amarillo has been waiting for. The food is always spot on and tasty. They spice everything just right so it's not over powering but always has just a hint of heat. You are greeted with a sampler paddle of their gumbos, lobster bisque and beans and rice. It's so refreashing to be able to sample something before ordering. By the way they are all great, tough choices ahead. We always get a combo of catfish, shrimp and oysters along with usually a bowl of beans and rice. A cup is plenty for one person to have as a side but if you're getting a bowl of anything you should have someone to share it with because the bowls are huge. The service is always great. They're are very laid back and not pressuring you. They serve some delicious Cajun beer and wine selections along with the usual choices. TLDR: You can't go wrong if you like Cajun food, you will leave happy. read more

We stopped in for a quick lunch on a trip to Amarillo, TX. We are originally from Central Louisiana so know Cajun cuisine. Traci was an exceptional server and so informative. She provided wonderful service. The Catfish etouffee was good; only comment was etouffee needed a little brown roux and Tony's Chachere season. I ordered the crawfish etoufee and this was the worst I have ever eaten, I couldn't hardly find the crawfish in the bowl as they were small and few. the rice amount given was not enough for the size of the bowl, so I ended up with a bunch of sauce. I have made this place a regular place to visit! I go mostly for lunch but I like it so much I go about once a week lol. The food is great, the staff is friendly and consistently good. Food was pretty good. We had boudin balls, jambalaya and a 5 piece catfish plate. The boudin balls were bite size but very good. The jambalaya was dry. It is more the consistency of dirty rice. It was good but not what I expected. The catfish plate was delicious. Fish was hot and friend perfect. Our server was awesome ( Isaiah). Wish the space was bigger. The wait was about 20 minutes. Which is ok if we weren't looking at empty table the whole time we waited. I will define come back. read more

It was Ash Wednesday and our office group had a lunch and learn. Well, the lunch was BBQ. No can do on this day. Called to see if I could get some seafood gumbo. Of course, they said. I went by at 11 and they had ready. This gumbo came very close to that I've had at Prejeans in Lafayette, LA (some of the best food period). A co-worker and I shared since the serving size was more than I could eat that day. I'll be going back for a good sit down meal real soon. Outstanding!!! read more

The unlimited gumbo is amazing! I had the seafood gumbo and wow it is exceptional. I also have had the catfish and it is another phenomenal food item. Really great red beans and rice, and seafood gumbo. The oysters on the half shell amazingly fresh and the fried oysters perfectly buttery. Amanda, our server, was wonderful and friendly. Visit Amarillo and wanted to see what Cajun places they had, so I decided on the lost Cajun, fun atmosphere with football on tv. We got our samples in less then 2 minutes and our drinks in around the same time, our waiter was funny and joking around with us. We decided on Lobster bisque, gator po'boy, and red beans and rice. Bisque was very good and creamy, not much lobster but still good (idk if they actually come with refills, but our waiter said they did so we got one). Po'boy was decent, could have used a little more gator but it was good. Red beans and rice were absolutely delicious! Nice flavor and full of sausage. Our waiter convinced us to get the beignets, glad we did, only had one that night but warmed them up for breakfast. All this with 2 beers and a sweet tea was around 45$ so it was well worth it, service was good and quick and food was good. I'd recommend read more

Amazing, outstanding, shockingly pleased. This was my impression. While I sat in the waiting area to be seated I was really starting to hesitate because at first glance it looks uncomfortable and super obnoxious busy however once I got my table the comfort level went through the roof and the staff were exceedingly pleasant and then the food. I was with friends and celebrating in so we went all out and just ordered a ton of different menu items and consumed it family-style. No wonder this place is hopping at 2p on a Saturday afternoon!! This place is an authentic Cajun restaurant in Texas!! This place is a must! The menu is truly Cajun with a lot of Louisiana options!! They even bring a little tray over with their New Orleans fav's to help you decide what to order. Brent, my husband, is a cajun snob; he used to work with some Cajun guys who brought in authentic food at least once a month. He loves Cajun and said this restaurant is even better than what they brought into work! He also said his catfish etoufee was better than his etoufee at Pappadeaux!! That's saying A LOT!! Brent ordered the cat-toufee, which include 3 pieces of fried catfish with catfish etoufee over the top. He was in heaven from bite one!!! He also ordered the single crawfish pot pie, which was the same as a traditional meat pie from Louisiana. He said it had a rich, amazing flavor that you have to try!!! I ordered fried shrimp with a side of hush puppies. It tasted very good and fresh!! This amazing food included fair prices!! I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention their awesome draft beer price for several domestic beers - $3.50!! Finally, as one added bonus, for all you Diet Coke fans, they have that too!!! Mmmmmm!!!!! This was mine and my fiancé's first time to Amarillo TX, on our roadtrip back from NM/CO and we heard about this place. Both huge seafood lovers (and me never having tried Cajun before) we decided to drive here and wait to eat for the first 8 hours of our drive. It was WORTH the wait. I don't leave reviews often, this was worth writing about. Wonderful, friendly people, true Southern hospitality we missed, and flavorful, comfort food. We had their shrimp gumbo and the crispy fish sandwich, definitely recommend. The sauce on the sandwich is a little spicy, but blended with the fresh fish and buttery bread it's mellow and complimenting. Feels good to be back home! Great idea to give samples prior to the meal. Service was attentive and we were sat right away during lunchtime on a weekday. However, we felt the food was just okay (crawfish etoufee, cajun pasta, and sampler plate) and it was especially not worth the price. None of us liked the coleslaw at all.
