Daw someone with a VW EOS. She referred me to this business. I came not knowing what to expect. A young dimness came and asked questions, making sure she all the information needed. My liner is loose and jams the convertible. Last summer, it was down and went to put it up. I was traveling the highway. It got stuck sticking straight up!. After about 39 minutes, it finally re-engaged. I haven't tried it since. I got an estimate of approx $3k. I took it to VW Ellis. They said they don't work with the convertible and would have to send it out. TO THIS BUSINESS!!! Plus an unchanged of 20%!! So, I've only paid the deposit. I'll update. Top quality service. I contacted The Mad Stitchers to repair the installation of a convertible top on my Mustang. The installation had been completely botched by the body shop recommended by my insurance. We brought his 2006 GTO into The Mad Stichers to see if all the pulled stitching and extremely dry leather on the seats could be saved. What an outstanding family run business! I needed to get my center console re upholstered. I called the dealership and they pretty much told me it would cost $1200 to replace and it would take months. I called Mad Stitchers and the same day they had me come in. They gave me an estimate and then 3 days later scheduled the appointment. I dropped my car off at 8 AM and it was ready by noon. 1/4 the cost of what the dealership quoted me. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to get repairs whether it is for your car, couches, boats etc. This is the place to go. Have been looking into getting the bench seat in my 1966 Ford F100 redone. I have been for about a year of owning this truck using duct tape to keep the bench seat cover together with my daily driving it. Cold was making the old material brittle and hard. While hot temps were making the seat begin to flake apart. So started to get some quotes and even looked into getting the seat material and do it myself. Well one day driving down the road I pass The Mad Stitchers Upholstery Shop and figured to get a quote from them. Super friendly folks and the quote I got was fair with them taking the bench seat out and reinstalling for me in two days. While other quotes I got may have been less but required me to remove and bring the bench seat on my own. Which is not that easy for me to do as I would have to remove the bench, find some way to bring the bench someplace, and then do it all over again after the bench seat is done. Also to note I did get some quotes that were the same quote as Mad Stitches but I would still have to bring them the bench seat so naturally the Mad Stitches quote made more sense than those places who wanted to charge the same amount with me having to do that extra work/hassle. After two days the bench seat is done and it looks great! Extremely comfortable and the material is soft to the touch. So much better than what I hoped for and very pleased with the communication, work, and care Mad Stitchers did for me. Great shop and great folks! read more

I just had my old Ford Bronco seats, front and back, refurbished and reupholstered. They did an awesome job. Fantastic workmanship.

They did a wonderful job on 1955 Buick Special hardtop front and back seats. Before it was all original and tore up from the sun damaged. They made the seats very firm with new materials and it looks exactly the same as the original ones. Even better! Also they did my other car 2000 Buick LeSabre, putting new lighter color tan headliner. It was falling from the ceiling from the sun. I requested for them to add a "Buick" logo hood ornament on the 2000 Buick LeSabre. They were very professional and it looks just like coming from the factory! No scratches or sloppy looks. It is perfect! Now it drives like a 2000 Buick Park Avenue with the hood ornament! My dream comes true with their help. I had one truck 1993 Chevrolet S10, and 1986 Chrysler Lebaron convertible done by them years ago. It also looks like all original without any changes as brand new. I am very please with their skills and friendly service. I would use them again. read more

I'd spilled gasoline in the backseat of my car (don't ask) and it had gotten into the foam underneath. The first time I went to Mad Stitchers, I asked John about it and he offered some recommendations, hoping to get rid of the smell. He was patient and kind and simply acted like a helpful expert. John's ideas worked to a large extent, but there was no escaping the residue and I finally decided to have the seat replaced. I had some concerns but Mad Stitchers did a beautiful job. I inadvertently cut my leather seat in my Tesla with a ring binder, brought it to John and Cresha, they took excellent care of me and recommended the most appropriate fix. I HIGHLY recommend you contact the owner-operators of this fabulous little gem of a resource for all things upholstery--from re-covering outdoor cushions to car interiors....When I stupidly tried to cram a metal-framed piece of art into the back seat area of my brand new Panamera, a frame corner put a tear into the side "wall" of the door panel...asked around for recommendations and the Mad Stitchers was at the top of the list...they didn't disappoint--the location of the repair can't be found, color match is perfect...Cretia runs the office while her dad does the repairs, and they are both so accommodating and professional oh, and my car was pristeenly clean when I picked it up! They did tricky roof, rear door body work and replaced the headliner on 2002 Dodge Dakota for the estimated price, and the quality exceeded my expectations. Ah! Wow. I don't' even know where to begin. Cresha and John are absolutely amazing. I went in today for a simple repair of my inner console on a 2010 Honda. I wasn't able to call a ride and John (the owner) let me borrow his car! Did you hear what I said??? borrow his personal CAR, to go to work 3 miles down the road!!! if that isn't A+ customer service....I don't know what is. I was already blown away by that act, but once I came back during lunch to pick up my car the work they had done on my car was absolutely incredible. It looked BETTER than the factory original in a 2010 Honda Accord console. John and his team are very talent and just all around good, fair and honest people. I'm fairly sure I"m an exception - I'll be open about that - and what I took to them was simply not in their wheelhouse. I initially called for a referral for a furniture repair - I was told, bring it by, we'll need to take a look but we do repairs here also. The piece is large "egg" style officechair, leather and fir upholstery which the base inside the bottom section had broken. I was told that one option was to build a base for the chair to sit in. I said that's an option, but I'd like to try keep the base/look first and that as a backup/last option. While filling out the initial document that had an estimate, I put my e-mail address down and was told "they may want to send drawings, etc for you to see." so a week or two goes by, and I'm expecting an e-mail. Instead I get a call saying that its done - and they went ahead and "based on his best judgement" made a base for the seat and wrapped it in a vinyl - of which I wasn't even a fan of the color choice on top of it not being what I wanted. I've tried to convey to them that I was expecting to "approve" whatever work was done first after they took the time to see what options they could do and I was never given this chance. I paid the balance and took the base home first... and after trying to make it work.. it just doesn't. Totally different look and after examining the chair more (they cut the base out so I can see what's broken now), I see a number of options. I was asked "what would make you happy." Which is a question - I shouldn't have to answer and not what I would do as a business owner myself (but that's me). I'm sure they do good work for other things, but if it isn't in their "specialty" I should have been advised more rather than someone simply "using their best judgement." I've tried hard not to write a negative review... I kept hoping as a business owner, to get a little more than a condescending attitude about the situation, and simply haven't other than a "well I'm happy to help you whatever you decide." read more

I have a 2004 Honda S2000 convertible that has been a delight to own and drive. But, as with all good things, some occasional maintenance is required. Mine was the fabric roof, which had a bad tear. I called Curry Honda and asked if they could help, and they said no, they didn't do that kind of thing, and recommended the Mad Stitchers on Peachtree Road in Chamblee. I drove out to the shop and met John Dutton, the owner, and his daughter, Cresha Cook, who ran the front-end of the business. John told me that the tear that I had hoped could be repaired was too big, and besides, the roof was nine years old and was just too worn to hold up much longer. So, we agreed on the price to replace it and I asked how long it might take. Cresha said it might take about five days to get the replacement shipped and one or two days to install. That sounded fine to me as I was going to be out of town for three days and we left it at that. When I returned to Atlanta I had a message that the roof had come in in just one day and that John could install it as soon as I could get the car back to him! Excellent! I took it over the next day and had the car back the following day. Great service! And the roof is as tight as a tick. John and Cresha are easy to work with and customer-oriented. If you have a convertible top that needs repaired or replaced and you're in the metro Atlanta area, this is the shop for you. read more

This place isn't really for sewing and alteration, I just couldn't find another category that fits! They refurbish/redo upholstery for cars, boats, furniture, and airplanes. My headliner in my old college car was falling down - I had to literally drive with one had on the roof to hold it up! So I looked this place up. It's a little hole in the wall place, but worth finding it. They'll fix up upholstery on every vehicle from classics to customs to clunkers. My headliner looks brand new (wish the rest of my car did! ) . They have samples apon samples of colors and fabrics to choose from. I would recommend you leave the vehicle for the day unless you want to wait around for 3 hours. They did mine under 2 hours, but I think they felt sorry for me because I didn't have a ride :) The owner, John, was very friendly and a treat to talk to . There is also a designer on-site if you need furniture re-upholstered. I don't remember her name, but she was nice as well. read more

Cresha was by far the best person to get information from on the phone - I spoke to at least 4 other stores and it seemed they didn't want my small job or were just disinterested in doing business. I went is recently for a quote for a convertible top. The owner was aware that I had already ordered an EZ ON top that was OEM for my Car. He inquired as to the rear window and I told him that it would come preinstalled and heated. He informed that it would not be preinstalled and would be something he had to do. He pointed out one piece of the rubber trim that needed to be replaced. I asked what he thought it would cost and he said $75. I was quoted $75 per hour for 10 hours and then he added an additional $17.50. I am 60 years old and this isn't my first rodeo. My last top also had the glass window and it WAS already part of the top. When I got this new top I opened it immediately and sure enough also preinstalled. When I ordered the replacement rubber part it was $35.34 plus shipping. I will be using Jim at Contemporary Upholstery and Repair. He quoted $675. The Mad Stitcher Truly is Mad. At some point quality and common sense should prevail over greed and lies. read more
