I love the friendly atmosphere and helpful peeps (Jill and Pedro are do bomb). The service rates are very reasonable. They sell stamps and are happy to help ship packages. I highly recommend their package receipt service; I get an e-mail when a package is received and don't have to worry about "porch pirates" at my home. Went to this business establishment today. The lady inside was very helpful and took care of all my needs. I had no idea this place is right around the corner from my house.. I guess they have a whole new staff working here and everyone is so helpful and responsible. I plan on making this place my go to place for all my USPS needs. Lesson learned, ask the price first. I went in to mail a card. I decided to buy a book of stamps. I was charged $16 for a book of 20 Forever stamps. I asked how much stamps were up to and the woman told me 60 cents. I haven't bought stamps in a while, so presumed she was right. Wrong! She overcharged me $5. Oh, she threw in one stamp free. I went in to mail a flat envelope and was told by the person working there that I needed to buy two stamps. Okay. Then she said it would be $1.50. I asked if they were standard FOREVER stamps and she said yes. A FOREVER stamp costs 55 cents. When I asked her why she's overcharging me for the stamps she said they normally cost 60 cents and they add 15 cents to cover their costs. Again, FOREVER stamps cost 55 cents EVERYWHERE. Except this dump that likes to pad the cost of postage stamps and then hope you don't notice. Even though it was only 40 cents they were trying to rip me off, I refused to pay it on principle alone. I was the only person in there and I'm guessing with this kind of shadiness they won't be there much longer. So I went to the mailbox place on Riverside and Fulton. They actually charged me face value for a couple of FOREVER stamps - $1.10. What a concept. read more

Really slow service. I came in to ship a small package, and wasn't greeted. The person working looked up at me after a couple of minutes, surprised that I needed help. Why else would I walk into a post office store? To ponder making a shipment, but never actually pull the trigger? The employee was unable to make any recommendations on their products when I asked, and sort of mumbled. And it took 20 minutes or more to do a simple task. To ship a small package. It was very bizarre. I don't know why it would take any more than 5-10 minutes since I was the only customer in the store, and the employee had no other distractions, no phone calls coming in. This was not the busy season, the holidays had already passed. The shipment was supposed to arrive a week ago, and still hasn't. That might be the USPS, but I'll still never come back to this place. Hire people who work with urgency, customers have better things to do than wait around. I'm giving two stars because the employee, although they couldn't make a recommendation on a particular product, DID have a good handle on some of the other services their business provided. They were able to answer a couple of my questions, and I appreciated that. read more

I came here to ship something real quick to a friend in Switzerland. They helped pack my gifts all nice and secure, and it got there just fine. She helped with questions I had regarding my international shipping as well which was nice. I also take shredding here now and then. Great when you just need to get rid of a bag or two. read more

I have rented a mailbox with Personally Yours for over 15 years also. I cannot even say how the prices compare with other mailbox chains.....because I am so satisfied with Personally Yours-----why would I even bother looking elsewhere? Apryl is the business owner and manager and not only is she responsible and personable, she is one of the most intelligent and creative people I have ever encountered. Personally Yours is ALSO a gift shop. So when you go in to check your mail, if you need to send a gift and/or a greeting card to someone....it's all there under ONE roof. Horrible. Sometimes people can make mistakes, but honest people admit their mistakes and say "I'm sorry, let's try to make it up to you." Instead all I got was pointing fingers at others. Also, their security cameras don't work. If you want lies and theft, use them. Here's my story. I'm in between rentals right now so I didn't have a permanent address. I was temporarily staying with a friend in Sherman Oaks and I walked by this place and thought "Ok... I can use this as my address and when/if I visit my friend (about once a month), I will pick up my mail. I purchased the mailbox and called my bank and cc company to send my mail there. I also had 2 checks that were going to be mailed to this po box. So, the first time (an entire month and a half after signing up for a mailbox), I went in knowing I should have had at least 4 (important) pieces of mail waiting for me. I was shocked when I opened my mailbox and NOTHING WAS IN THERE. NOTHING. COMPLETELY EMPTY. I started freaking out because I knew that at least 3 of these pieces of mail had been postmarked over 10-15 days prior. These were coming from different areas and from different companies / individuals, so it wasn't a matter of coincidence that none of their mail had arrived. I also knew the senders were 100% reliable and I never had a problem with them in the past. Immediately I told the clerk behind the counter that there is a major problem. At first they tried to blame "forwarding" issues (which wasn't the case). I had to call my credit card companies and ask them to verify the address (it was sent correctly), I had to cancel 2 checks, then I had to change my address (because obviously I can't trust them to handle my mail), then I had to keep an eye on my credit card charges because someone could have taken my information. It was a nightmare. After many, many calls to Personally Yours, they COINCIDENTALLY found 2 of pieces of mail just as I was talking the manager, Apryl. Funny thing is that at first she said nothing was there there and halfway into the conversation she said that they JUST handed her 2 pieces of mail 10+ days late. Both pieces of mail were postmarked over 10 days prior to this conversation. Then the 3rd piece of mail "magically appeared" 3.5 weeks after it was postmarked-- and probably only because I was calling and making a big deal over what had happened. I never received the 4th check so I was responsible for paying the canceled check fee. Knowing what they KNEW to be true, these horrible people still want to keep my money. They offered me a month or two of free service, but what good is it if I DON'T GET MY MAIL?!?!?!?!?!?! Obviously I needed my mail to go to a place where I would actually get it without confusion, phone calls, and attitude. I was extremely stressed, had to cancel checks, pay $25 for a canceled check, had to drive all the way back on 2 separate occasions (and at this point, I wasn't living anywhere near this facility when I had to return so there so 2 times I had to go back to pick up mail that was between 10-20 days late). With traffic, I was also out 3+ hours of time going back and forth to pick up mail that they were misplacing. What I think happened is that they were probably putting my mail into another empty mailbox. I had just signed up and perhaps they didn't process the number correctly.... either way, they know 100% for a fact that I did not get ANY of my mail in a timely manner. They know this because they SAW when mail was postmarked. They can't deny that. To try and blame the post office is nonsense because 4 out of 4 pieces of mail either arriving late like that or not arriving isn't how the post office operates. I haven't had one problem with the U.S. post office in over 15 years yet within my first month with this "business" I got nothing. In addition, they said they didn't have any other problems with the U.S. postal service. ALSO, when I first opened that mailbox and NONE OF MY MAIL WAS IN THERE, my first thought was that someone had a copy of my key (perhaps the previous owner of the mailbox?) SO I asked if they have footage from their security cameras.... well.... good to know, their cameras DON'T WORK. What a joke this place is. I was going to take it to court, but for $96, I'm not sure it was worth the trouble to take a day off of work. I guess they counted on that. They took my money and rendered zero services. read more

I recently moved to Sherman Oaks from northern California but my new home wasn't quite ready. I needed a temporary mailing address and, thanks to Yelp, found this service near my home. The price was right, the owner (Apryl) and her entire staff were very friendly and welcoming and the location was convenient. After getting my mail delivered for a few months, I no longer needed the mailbox but, for the time when I needed it, Personally Yours was excellent and just what I needed. I needed to get gifts to my nieces in Cleveland and was stressed beyond belief about it. The items were late getting to me, it took me forever to get the right batteries installed for them and writing them all notes....Four nieces...lol I remembered hearing about PY so I went there...I showed them what I had and mentioned what my concerns were....They calmly took my information, packaged everything up beautifully, made sure it got to my nieces well before the 25th.... I have had a private mailbox at this business for 25 years. The original owner, Carol Hernandez, was a sweetheart. She sold the shop to her very young Manager, Apryl, in 2001. Apryl was a phenomenal owner for many years. Smart, funny and super helpful. The current owner, Michael, has owned and operated the business for the past few years and, while it's different from Carol and Apryl's style, the place simply continues to be absolutely terrific. The employees Yanet, Nathan and Pedro are all incredibly friendly and competent. I have made some odd and perhaps unreasonable requests of the business over the years, but have NEVER been less than impressed with the place. I highly recommend this small and solid business to anyone seeking private mailbox services! read more

Because of the good reviews on Yelp I decided to take out a box @ Personally Yours. I've previously had packages delivered and thought it was strange that I just picked up my boxes from a pile of packages on the floor, didn't need to sign for it, and left. So unfortunately wasn't that surprised that they lost a $40 box of Proactiv that I had sent here. I have a tracking number from USPS saying it was delivered and signed for and for some reason PY has no record of ANYTHING for ANYBODY being received that weekday (highly doubtful). I'm guessing that no one felt like logging packages that day and another customer just picked up my box (hopefully by mistake) from the unorganized pile that is PY's way of accepting/keeping packages. The woman who worked there said she would make sure the owners were aware and someone would call me regarding this. A week later, still waiting. Stupidly, I'm signed up for another three months and I will not be renewing my rental here. read more

Everyone is friendly, they've always been beyond responsible and go over and above the absolute "necessary" to make sure their clients are happy. The store is uniquely original as well. There are fabulous gifts and cards, a wonderful book selection and Apryl does some of the meanest, cleanest and loveliest gift wrapping I've ever seen. As much as I don't like having to ship things out (which I have to do frequently because of my online shopoholic tendencies), this place makes the experience so much more enjoyable. Both Sean and Lydia are fast, friendly and service-oriented people. I especially appreciate that I can drop off my packages with prepaid labels or know that I can rely on them to help me to choose the most affordable and reliable option if I don't have a prepaid label. The online USPS website is too confusing for me (I probably shouldn't admit that publicly). And in the event that you're waiting for them to complete your transaction (which is rare), there are fun little items to investigate (shop for) throughout this quaint little store...unique books, crystals, jewelry...etc. They also have a convenient loading parking spot out front to run in and out. Don't go around lunch time though as the restaurant next door tends to fill up the spots on the street. read more
