I was looking for a relaxing dinner last night and hit up The Maine Catch. Sat at the bar and was greeted by Sherry. Not only did she make an outstanding martini, but her personality was vibrant and so welcoming. The bar had a nice vibe with lots of locals, chatting it up. I think Sherry has quite a following and I clearly see why. Dinner was fantastic. I had the Lobster Cobb Salad. It was so fresh. Mouthwatering. It was served in a short amount of time and with a smile. Sherry was very attentive and professional. I lingered around for a delish piece of raspberry pie and a scotch. A beautiful thing! Every single thing on the menu was fantastic. My cousin had the shrimp scampi and it was so so good- silky and not overly garlicky! I had the fried chicken and it was truly the best I ever had. I never finish my food when I go out to eat, but I forged through and finished this chicken just because it was so good. We were told it was the best seafood restaurant in Ogunquit; it didn't live up to expectations. On the positive side, our server was great--very friendly and attentive. Also, the brussel sprout appetizer was out of this world (kudos to the chef). The haddock entree had little if any flavor whatsoever; the vegetable medley was also "blah." My husband and I had lunch here during a quick stay in a Ogunquit and we were very happy with our experience! The waitress was lovely and there was wonderful seating indoors and outdoors. My husband loves oysters and we got a great selection for the typical $3.50 each. The beer on tap was a nice thick selection and they had specialty drinks. We love a good lobster roll and while we were in Maine we still like it Connecticut style which is buttered and they did have this alternative. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to going back in the future. read more

Please, be kind and patient as they and many restaurants are understaffed and doing their best. The back of house absolutely crushes it consistently and you simply cannot go wrong on this menu. Staying in York and made the short drive to Ogunquit. Nice to sit outside away from the main shopping area. Much quieter. Both of us had the Lobster Cobb salad and shared a huge piece of their lemon coconut cake. Service was excellent. Great early dinner. We were prepared for a good experience while on vacation and my wife did her homework searching for a special place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The reviews she found were ALL complimentary. Service was acceptable and we started by visiting the bar while waiting for our table. The prices were not revealed before ordering and turned out to be well above market. Moving on, we decided upon a salad and chowder and salad to start off, which were both up to our hopes. Our "catch" was the reason for a poor review. Based on the reviews I thought this place would be outstanding. However, it was underwhelming. I ordered the stuffed haddock and it first came out under cooked and bland and the second time around was bland also. The broccoli and rice were just average and salty. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken which also was bland and appeared to look like a chicken tender kids meal. Also no bread or side salad or soup comes with the meals FYI. The Maine Catch is just ok. Nothing wowed me or even close, but nothing was terrible. The service was fine if not a bit slow. We ordered the fried calamari which came with a nice spicy sauce. However, the calamari was rubbery and the fried crust wasn't crispy at all. I had the linguini and clams which just wasn't very good. The pasta was cooked fine and the sauce was nice enough, but it came with only 6 or 7 clams and they were all phenomenally over cooked (or at least I hope that's why they looked like something had chewed them). Someone in my party had the halibut and she described it as being way over cooked and dry. Very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you have better options, but like I said, it was ok. read more

Horrible service. Our waiter was oblivious it took 30 mins for a burrata salad to come and the vibe there is just off. Super uptight and snotty wait staff- didn't feel comfortable at all. The bucatini with clams was good except there were like 4 clams total and a half a cup of pasta, for 30$ I'd expect a little more food. My son hasn't met a hot dog he hasn't liked yet this one he couldn't even eat and we had to order something else. Don't recommend this place overpriced and not good vibes or enough portions. read more

Day trip middle of week to Ogunquit and stumbled upon THe Maine Catch for lunch. Yelped it and said let's give it a try and we were so glad we did!! One of the better meals we've had since Covid. There were 10 of us and tried a bunch - apps calamari and mussels (thanks to waiters recommendation) , fried faves fish and chips and whole belly clam, lobster rolls with chowdas, pastas, seafood newburg and the filet and have to say everything was delicious even the fries! And our server was top notch, thanks for the great service! If you are looking for a place, don't hesitate to try this place - food and service was wonderful. read more

A group of 8 locals had reservations tonight. When we arrived, the table wasn't ready. We waited 5-10 minutes for a server, who came to the table with water and snnounced she would be our server. At least 10 minutes went by without gwtting menus, or taking a drink order. The server was attending to every other table but ours, almost as if she was avoiding us. I went to the manager to inquire about the delay, and shortly thereafter the server showed up with menus, and never asked for a drink order. 10-15 minutes later, the server came back to take our order for drinks and dinner. No bread for the table was offered. Two of us ordered an app. After another 15 minutes, one was delivered, and the other app didn't arrive until at least 20 minutes later. It was another 20 minutes before the entrees arrived, most of which were cold. The manager (clearly inexperienced) stopped by our table twice to apologize. No compensation was offered, nor did he attempt to assist the server in any way. Everything about this evening was a disaster. Lack of experienced management, clear lack of employee training, and kitchen issues guaranteed that this group of locals will not be back to this restaurant. . read more

This place is unreal. Had 5 different oysters shucked well delicious. Muscles and Steamers were top notch. Server Tara and Garrett are servers Ive had before in Portland, so happy that I have a photographic memory that I could remember their faces. This is the best spot in Ogunquit now. What an absolutely delightful experience, start to finish. All the food was tasty and delicious. We had the ribeye steak, Penne fra Diavolo, fried chicken, and the baked sole for entrees. All were cooked to perfection! For starters we had some jumbo shrimp and kale soup, which was also really delicious. I ordered the fried shrimp dinner for $25 and received just 8 small shrimp and a huge pile of fries! If I wanted only fries I would have stayed home and made my own. Visited Maine Catch on our current trip to Ogunquit. Ate outside in a beautiful setting. My wife and her cousin had the Cobb salad with lobster. Generous potion with good amount of fresh lobster. I had the shrimp FRA diavalo which had just the right amount of spice. Also had oysters from the raw bar. Very fresh.
