How times have changed. I had come here a few times a couple of years ago and had a great time. I love a good dive bar. I'm not sure if the owner had changed. Seems like no one cares about this place now. I went in last night to have a couple of beers and listen to the band. It took forever to get a drink while the bartender, who had obviously seen me, ignored me and talk on their cell. The restroom was trashed and looked like it had not been cleaned in years. Wow. I have to give a minimum of one star. This is one star more than I would choose to give. Years ago I came here because of good value on happy hour beer and food (50 cents for ten ounce beers and $5 nachos). So I go to the website that now offers $1.50 beers. The server says "we have not had $1.50 beers in months. How can I help you". Well.... for one you can make your website not lie. This place does not honor what it offers on their website. Food is pretty good but I like the drink specials. Honestly it seems like everyone starts at saddle sore, works over to waterwheel and then over to mavericks before 2am hits. The band was ok but not as good as Waterwheel. I wish they had a little more room to move around like Waterwheel but its nice because they are right on the corner. Everyone either loves or hates the trump sign out front. I don't mind. I do love that they put the nativity scene out every Christmas. read more

This place was The worst experience ever ...the bartender on thurs night was super rude!!!!!! Never said hello and we waited at the bar for 15 mins to get our order in .,. Went in here with my girlfriend. Got ignored by most of the bartenders , finally got to order and the food is horrible . You can tell its frozen food . ahh yes... karaoke... used to come here monday nights for karaoke... my friends were really good at it and i thoroughly enjoyed watching them!! drinks were pretty inexpensive and made the 20 minute trip to norco worthwhile! oh and try their food when it's offered... i've had breakfast and dinner here and it's REALLY good!! definitely a cowboy feel in here, but if you're familiar with the inland empire you may find yourself coming here on bro and bro-ho night... you know what's up 951!! :) look for lindsay or liz to pour you a stiffie and tell them that bernie says hello!! read more

Only reviewing the kitchen. The food is very good. The super nachos are super. Their hot salsa is great, the tacos are great.

They have live bands on the weekends and dancing. I enjoyed this place and will be going back. No cover charge also.

Went to watch The Pac Men Friday night and it's an interesting little bar, tiny, but they had some horses out back? Notice "saloon" in the name. The appetizers were horrible, like school cafeteria horrible, actually my high school had better food than this place. The service was good the band was decent and I will leave it at that. read more

Haven't tried the food here, but the place is rockin" especially when the 80's band comes out to play. It's pretty lay back atmosphere ~ my hubby enjoys playing pool while I enjoyed dancing and listening to the band, heck I even learn how to line dance at this place. Thank goodness I did not read some of the reviews prior to going or I probably would have never checked this place out. Happen to be in the area Thursday night so my husband and I stopped in. Yes I was a little skeptical and it is a little on the darker side but the tacos were great as well as the customer service. It for sure has the Norco hometown feel with its locals. Been going there for the past couple of years. Their food is really good, the drinks are cheap and the staff is great !! It does have that cowboy feel to it, but they have a great mix of music & live bands. Lots of regulars, great place to hang out and have a good time. I've never seen a bar fight there yet, but it can get really crowded sometimes. read more

This establishment is not safe for women, married, single, not safe at all. My wife and I went for dinner and she wanted to have drinks. I do not drink so I had water, after we had been there for a few hours it got busy and we noticed one guy in the bar staring at my wife continuously. He stood at the bar near the restrooms and stopped her as she walked past, asking her why she was with me and she deserved better. I didn't think anything of it, just another drunk guy hitting on my wife. He then proceeded to walk behind my chair, stop and stare at my wife for 10-20 sec. which made her uncomfortable. Later in the evening she made another trip to the restroom, at which point he walked over past the bar and stood in the hallway outside the womens restroom, I watched to see if maybe he was waiting for a friend, but yet again as my wife exited the womens restroom he confronted her about how she could do better. At this point, I confronted him about stalking my wife in the womens restroom and he was making her extremely uncomfortable, during my talk with him, the bar security walked up and I explained the situation and he did absolutely nothing, not a word to the pervert. He just looked at me. I would caution all women not to visit this establishment due to the perverted patrons and lack of effort at all by security. Who knows what this guy would have done if I hadn't been there since security could care less. This place is NOT what I expected. Hungry for a steak and unfamiliar with the area, I Yelped "Steakhouse" and I found The Maverick. Thinking of a typical steakhouse I expected a hostess, cushioned booths and a paved parking lot. But, looking back, I failed to read the reviews and notice the "Saloon" portion of The Maverick Saloon. Instead, I parked in a gravel lot and, reminiscent of an authentic roadhouse one might find off a rural Texas highway in 1947, The Maverick proves to be the real deal in saloon ambiance. Now, I have been to plenty of those corporate McRoadhouse chains and, let me tell you, this isn't one of them. You will not find any gimmicks or pretense under this ramshackle roof. This establishment consists of plywood bathroom walls with mildly racist graffiti (The James Dean reference was funniest), drunken ranch hands sucking down longnecks, drunker ranch owners hitting on elderly painted ladies with big hair, boozed-up raucous women shooting pool, assorted blue collars blowing off steam and the constant ubiquitous flow of cheap drinks. As for food, I found the typical bar fare here; nachos, wings, etc. But I wanted a steak, and there was only one on the menu. This 12 to 14 oz sirloin is called the "Managers Special" and, just like any great authentic roadhouse, they do it cheap and they do it right. The steak is a good size, good quality piece of beef and I ordered it rare. Often times I find my steak either raw or medium when ordered rare, but not here. It was, simply stated, cooked perfectly. The seasonings were spot on and the side dishes were good too. Somebody in that kitchen knows what the hell they are doing. The crowd here, at least early last night, was pleasantly boisterous, friendly and relaxed. I heard plenty of laughter and not a single cross word. The bartender/waitress/bouncer/busboy was super sweet and very attentive. This lovely woman mixed drinks, took food orders, cleared tables, mopped up broken beer bottles and even guided a pleasantly intoxicated girl to an outside seat when the young lady was having a difficult time finding the door. She did all this and the smile never left her face. Heck, she even gave me a free cherry soaked in Bacardi 151 for dessert! This place doesn't get 5 stars because it serves up fancy cuisine. It doesn't get 5 stars because it offers an elegant lounge atmosphere. The Maverick gets 5 stars because it bills itself as a saloon and it delivers on everything one would want in a great saloon: cheap drinks, good steaks, nice folks and a kick in the ass good time. I would be in serious trouble if I lived closer. **After checking my past posts, I notice the mention of racism regarding this place. I am half Mexican and very sensitive to bad vibes in that regard. While at the Maverick I saw shit scribbled in the bathroom and I got the whole shit-kicker attitude, but there were Mexican ranch hands having beers while I was there and I didn't get the feeling the "establishment" held any racist views. There are always going to be ignorant people or patrons that cause problems, say stupid things and write stuff on bathroom walls; I laugh at them and take it as part of the ambiance. read more
