They have outdoor and interior seating; the interior decor is bright, lively, and welcoming! Love the cheesy puns they have in neon lights. It wasn't too busy when we ordered. You can either order with a live person or through their 2 self serve kiosks. I just ordered their melt burger and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and a kids melt burger for family to go. The melt burger took about 5-7 minutes for it to be ready at the counter. The burger texture was definitely new to me, spongy, moist, and tender. My husband and I have visited The Melt 3 times already and the burgers don't disappoint. They are perfect size and if you're really hungry, get a double. I love the mission meltburger with no bun. I agree with their claim of using more than 1/3 pound of angus and wagyu beef. The staff is super friendly and although you can self order at the kiosks, they are happy to take your order. The place is modern and the music is pretty cool. They also have TVs out on the patio for sports enthusiasts. Although the dining area is kept pretty clean, the ladies bathroom needed attention. I went in to their Sunnyvale location on Saturday since I've heard good reviews about their milkshakes. Upon arrival, I was helped by one of their employees who said his name is Lee. He recommended to try their spicy mission burger & a snickerdoodle milkshake. I was surprised that they give a free pickle in your order. I got a single patty and that was enough to get me full. Came on Sunday after a 3 hour hike with my best friend. I found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out. Beyond the best Oreo shake and burger with sweet potato fries in Sunnyvale! The shake was not thick and I was able to enjoy it without any hassle. The place was very clean and not busy which was a plus for me. We went for lunch today and enjoyed our visit. The ambiance is great. The place is clean and inviting and the food was delicious. I had the steak and cheese sandwich which was sooo good. My son always likes the MacDaddy, my daughter had the swiss and mushroom burger and my husband had some kind of sandwich with cheese, avocado, and bacon. We had the oreo and strawberry shakes and those were super thick and yummy. There was an issue with one of our items, and the front end guy, Ash, made it right. I recommend the Garlic Parmesan Fries and the Swiss 'n' Shroom MeltBurger. Really enjoyed both. Every single French fry was coated with the garlic flavor. The shredded Parmesan cheese was generously sprinkled on top of the fries. The quality of the meat in the Swiss 'n' Shroom MeltBurger was noticeable. Beefy and juicy, and was perfectly cooked. Didn't expect to like the ranch sauce on it because I thought it would overshadow the taste of the Angus and Wagyu patty but the ranch was mild enough that it added the saltiness without taking away the beefy buttery goodness of the beef. Wish it had more mushrooms but still love this burger. Make sure to get the toasted bread crumb with the Mac. The crumbs added a toasted flavor and made a more interesting texture to the mac n cheese. Made the Mac n cheese both soft and a bit chewy with little crispy bits in between from the crumbs. The sauce was good, not too salty, creamy but could use a bit more because the sauce did not coat all the macaroni pieces. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich is new but I would skip this one. They use chicken breast; was battered and fried. The batter had more of peppery flavor. Not sure if they over fried because it was crispy but also hard at the same time. The chicken breast did not seem to be marinated and most of the flavor were from the peppery coating. They were generous with the lettuce and tomatoes. They have self serve fountain drinks for the natural Hanger brand soda. But also offers Coke soda in a can, which is a bit pricey at almost $3 a can. For dessert I got the Manifesto brownie which was pretty good. Everything above were reasonably priced. You can order at the kiosk or at the counter. Food came out so quickly, about 5 minutes after we sat down. Staff were nice and welcoming. The girl at the counter greeted us right away. Clean comfortable dining area. I often don't finish with work until around 8pm and by the time I'm done with work, I just don't feel like cooking. Looking for a place to grab dinner, other than the local taqueria, after 9pm can get slim. We were already near downtown Sunnyvale, I started ooking through Yelp to find a place to have dinner - I spied The Melt! Oh look! They're open until 11pm...okay! Let's go! Downtown Sunnyvale is up and coming with lots of new construction. We weren't sure what to expect when we arrived. There's a parking garage nearby, if you don't mind walking a bit, but there is street parking. There's an open patio area in the front, which is nice, since we had our pups with us. The staff was very nice in explaining the menu to us and very accommodating. I ordered the Swiss and Mushroom Melt - oh yum. I would certainly order it again. Medium rare bun, melted Swiss cheese, mushrooms and raw spinach. It was my kinda burger. The SO got the Cobb salad - which had a very generous helping of roasted chicken. I ordered the sweet potato fries - the manager delivered our meal to the table and added a sampling of their sweet potato fries with garlic Parmesan sprinkled on top. So delish! We'll have to order that our next visit. They are open on weekends until midnight and we were told that eventually they will be open until midnight during the weekdays also. Finically visited this new spot in Sunnyvale and it'll definitely make it into my go-to spots! I got the Italian job with avocado, the garlic Parmesan fries, the tomato soup and a side salad. The sandwich was delicious! Super crispy bread and melty cheese with mushrooms. The added avocado was to die for! The fries had a great flavor, and I think they'd have been crispier if I ate them at the restaurant rather than takeout. I really liked the flavor of the soup too, I'm a sucker for tomato soup. I only had a few bites and I'll have the rest for lunch tomorrow :) the Caesar salad was just okay, but I'm pretty picky about my Caesar salads. I did like the grilled cheese croutons though! I did also get a strawberry lemonade and wowza it was refreshing! I probably could've drank 2 The inside of the restaurant was super clean and well lit. The Melt definitely makes great tasting patty melts and other cheesy sandwich items. I absolutely love hot melted Swiss cheese with mushrooms, so it was perfect. $8.99 Italian Job sandwich fits the description perfectly. Very stretchy cheese in it. $5.99 Vanilla Milkshake wasn't too thick or too sweet in taste, so that was perfect for my tastebuds. $4.79 Tomato Soup was a bit smaller in cup size than expected, but was just as good in every sip. Expect to pay around $20 for a good simple meal here. What's there not to like about The Melt? They have more locations now. Firefighters, police officers, construction workers, local residents, etc., most enjoy making a quick stop here whenever possible. I like this smaller location because it's quiet and calm.
