Fresh Blanched Vegetables provided for dipping in the 3rd Course Bouillabaisse
    Brian O.

This was our first ever visit to "The Melting Pot" for their acclaimed fondue experience on Tuesday evening the day before Valentine's Day and it was a great experience overall with a few areas lacking with the concept that would have made it a five star night at this type of restaurant concept. We arrived for our reservation at 6:45 p.m. after having spoken with Nikole earlier in the day to push our time back to accommodate a work schedule conflict. Nikole turned out to be the GM rather than a member of the Host Staff I thought I was working with. I say this because Nikole was amazing in the customer service she provided on the phone and in her presence out front and how she checked tables. Undoubtedly, as GM, she has been incredibly successful in training and development of the restaurant staff, which makes a huge difference at any restaurant and often is lacking but very evident at The Melting Pot. The areas that I indicated were lacking in my first paragraph was that the restaurant interior appears that it could use a refresh being it's current decor style and location in a strip center, but it's well maintained and clean and especially the booth seating upholstery which often is the first area to reflect on the quality of the staff and management and again active and engaged management is evident. The other area was the only thing that was underwhelming and that was I expected more variety and elegance in the fresh vegetables presented for dipping in the cheese fondue along with the bread in the first course. The vegetables were fresh and good, but I would like to have seen a bit grander variety and presentation. We had a wonderful experience and will return again as I think that there is a small learning curve if you are unfamiliar with the concept and experience, but not having any prior knowledge beforehand, Alexis our server was excellent and instrumental in guiding us and enabling such a wonderful and interesting meal of different tastes and textures. Overall, an excellent restaurant experience with great food and exceptional service!

This is my first experience here the service was outstanding, and the ambience was so romantic, so this is perfect for a birthday dinner or date night The food from appetizers to the entrées filled me up. I was stuffed but so fulfilled and happy Such a great experience, I would definitely recommend the melting pot to everyone. If you haven't been go, check them out. It's a little more pricey, but it's worth it if you're looking for a great dinner, and an excellent experience, an amazing drinks this is a spot for you!

I give this 4.5 stars for the experience and fun time and really good service. I would rate the actual food more of a 3 max if you go just for the food. Also, make sure you have plenty of time for a longer dinner experience, you will be cooking your own food, but assisted. The place is clean inside and they have a ton of seating, especially for larger parities. Our server was great. Very friendly and fun and helped explain the menu. We got the Big night out was a smaller version added since there was 3 of us. Honestly we should have stuck with just the dinner for 2 but shared 3 ways. We took a lot of cooked meat home and left a lot of dessert and cheese uneaten. It's plenty of food. The salads to start were really good. The cheese we chose i want a fan, it did have alcohol in it when cooking and I'm not a fan of alcohol in my food. I do wish they had a few other options for dipping in the cheese. The meat, although a fun experience, was my least favorite. The seasoning we chose for the water was not good. I should have asked to change it when it got to the table. The smell we already didn't like. It was the Caribbean flavor. I do not like boiled meat so that's why i didn't like it. The dipping sauces they give are all very tasty tho. So utilize those with your meat. Dessert, you can't go wrong. We got cookies and cream. We were already full, but still have it a try. Some of the items with the chocolate was a sweet overload, but it was all pretty good. You do get fruit as well as brownies, rice crispies, and several other options for dessert. Over all we had fun and it was my parents first time. It's worth the experience. We spent about $200 for 3 people.

Best Birthday Dinner Ever! My husband made a reservation and let them know it was my birthday. A card and small treat were waiting at the table when we were seated. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. At the end of the evening, the manager came by with glasses of a sparkling treat to toast my birthday. It was an amazing evening!

Such a great experience. So so much food but so great! I enjoy how private the booths can be- ours was perfectly secluded away. There is not a rush from the server to get through the courses and the servers are very educated on the process if you aren't. We love the cheese fondue and also the land & sea option with the cast iron option for grilling the steak/shrimp (chicken and salmon, too). We got the lobster too and we were so glad we did. DELISH. The chocolate fondue was a fan favorite for sure.

Why have I never celebrated anything before here at the Melting Pot? I loved this so much! We came here for our anniversary and the staff were so nice - we got free bubbly with the dessert course and then a box of chocolate covered strawberries to take home. Really lovely touches. We got the Big Night Out, and holy cow that is a lot of food (esp. with the sweet additions dessert plate that we got from using our Yelp Check-in)! I really ought to have been rolled out. The food was all pretty good. I mean, with the cheese and dessert course - how could dunking stuff in cheese and chocolate sauce not be amazing? We got the alpine cheese. Delicious, but next time I might try the bacon & jalapeno (but ask for the jalapenos on the side). Salads are really underrated here. First, the portion is surprisingly large but also, the mix of ingredients in each salad is wonderful. I can't remember the name of mine but it had caramelized pecans and a raspberry vinaigrette and YUUUUUUUM. Entree: I almost wish we got spoons so I could drink more of the broth (but also not because it would have filled me up too much before dessert). Next time I might opt for the cast iron skillet to sear the proteins (was missing that Maillard reaction flavor). But also, love love love love all their sauces! Dessert: got the turtle option which was so decadent. Maybe too decadent? And that sweet additions plate with the more upscale desserts? Even if i paid for it, SO worth it! Definitely get this!

I want to start by saying I'll be coming back here for special occasions and all types of intimate celebrations. We made reservations online and were seated quickly after arrival. The restaurant does recommend reservations over walk-ins. There's also an elongated bar section near the entrance for quick service and drinks. Our waiter was very informative and descriptive on flavors and the four course fondue process as we were first time Melting Pot diners. We picked different salads, broths, meats and there was nothing we didn't enjoy. Every course was presented well. Portions were filling. The ambiance was romantic, intimate, low chatter in the background, Jazz music.

I wanted to get this for my book club soiree, but did not have time to make a visit as it is a little north of downtown. Antonelli's Cheese Shop is charming and quaint. While the shop is small they have an assortment of items to sell in addition to cheese - wine, sauces, jellies, etc. I was immediately greeted upon entry into Antonelli's cheese shop. Two other customers were being helped, however, I had a store associate offer me some cheese samples. While the samples were good, I was specifically interested in the three cream cheese. They had two choices to select from. I was hoping they had more. This is a shop you need to spend some time in to leisurely evaluate the cheeses. There was also a human size dog in the shop at the time. I don't know what is about dogs, they like to lick me. Guess what...I do not like to be licked. So, I jetted out of the store.

They have wine, jams/jelly/preserves. Chocolates, and olives. They also have premade charcuterie boards too. When I came, they were giving away free cheese everyday of the week. The first 100 people that were in line. Free cheese? Yes please. As you can imagine, there was a long line of people waiting, and with the store being small, we were sent in in small groups. Couple people come out, couple people go in. As the line shortens and you get to the counter. You're given your free cheese, and asked what type of cheese you like. I gave my favorites, soft cheese, like brie, hard cheese, like manchego I like spicy cheese like hatched chili cheese or a jalapeño cheese. So after giving some examples of cheese that I like the gentleman helping me brought out three different samples and we tried them together and loved every one of them so I chose which ones I liked out of the three and then we moved down the counter a little bit, and the gentleman brought out another selection of three cheeses, and I tried those and told him which ones I liked, and they were all phenomenal. The gentleman that helped me was very attentive. He listened. he gave examples exactly what I was asking for and it was absolutely beautiful experience. even though they were packed and crazy and had 100 people waiting outside. He just treated me like we were just one on one. He took his time with me. I thought it was such a spectacular experience very personable. I walked out with 5 different cheeses. A bar of orange chocolate with dried cherries. And a baguette. And let me tell you, I ate so good during our Texas ice storm 2026! So here's the down side. Parking. There are like 8 parking spots in front. And a couple parking in the back. But beyond the back, there is a small pay with a QR code parking. It's a bit of a struggle as far as parking goes. There is no street parking. But I'm sure when you're not dealing with 100 customers it's not as much of a struggle. There are 2 accessible parking spots out front. Had a great experience. And will come back again.

The atmosphere is intimate and slightly moody, making it the perfect spot for an elevated date night, while the patio offers a more relaxed vibe with cozy string lights and a great outdoor feel. This was easily one of my favorite meals in Austin. Make a reservation ahead of time, and be sure to give yourself extra time for South Lamar traffic.. I'm telling you it's worth the trip.
