My friend took me out for dinner at the melting pot this evening. Neither of us had ever been. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and sat in a booth which was great. It was very clean in there but also quite dark so the ambiance was very relaxing. We did the fondue for 2 people which was about $105 total without tax. We started with the cheese fondue appetizer with Wisconsin cheese with pesto. It was not an easy to dip cheese and we weren't really impressed with the taste. The apples were very tart snd couldn't get any cheese to hang on to it. The 2 pretzel sticks were good with it but also good on its own. We then got our salad which was actually really delicious but you can't really go wrong with salad. When it came to the entree, each person picked their meat trays but only one bowl to cook in which was a bit odd. The amount of meat we received were not a lot but surprisingly enough we got full. The shrimp was the best part, I couldn't eat any of the other meats. The chocolate fondue was the star of the party! We did the s'mores one and it was perfect. We joked that we should have just got that instead of the 4 course meal! Lol We got extra fruit with it as well from our server which was a nice bonus cause we actually would have rather had all fruit than to have Rice Krispies. We've always heard so much hype about this place and decided to go for my husband's birthday. They messed up our reservation & put us in the "romance booths" which may be good if you're a sneaky high school kid but we would've much preferred a normal size table where we could actually see each other face to face! We got there at opening so didn't know anything different regarding seating til we left .... The food was a best okay, nothing special taste/quality wise. Their whole upcharge/price is just based on the fondue idea (not so much the quality/portions/menu). We made it through dinner - it was fun, but not worth the price. We had some issues with them over charging on the bill for things too but we got that taken care of there. Overall not impressed for what all we'd heard about it over the years. read more

We were kind of in a little corner so I'm not sure of the vibe of the restaurant but none of my party had been there before so we were just going with the flow. I asked the server how everything worked and was still a little confused. It's not a straight forward menu but once you figure it out it's pretty simple. One down side for me was having to cook your own meat. I took my dad there for his birthday and I probably wouldn't have if I knew how much involvement you have to have in the preparation of your food. Came here for a friends birthday for the first time. It was interesting. We did the 4 courses. $50 per person. We got to chose 2 cheeses to start off with. We chose spinach & artichoke and the Wisconsin cheddar. The Wisconsin Cheever was good. It was thicker too. The spinach & artichoke was okay but more liquidity. Then we got to choice our own salads. The salads are kinda small and they give u garlic seasoning to add and it's good. Then the meat portion was tricky cause you have to cook your own meat. I like mine well done. They have set time but it's not accurate. We let the meat on longer it took awhile. Especially at the end the shrimp took forever to grill. We also had European style which is with oil and they give u batter and bread crumbs to add on. We felt kinda weird after. Maybe cause all the different types of meats one on a grill and some in oil. My head started hurting after midway cooking. One of my friends had a baby and she couldn't cook and take care of the baby so she left. The dessert we chose flaming turtle and crème brûlée. The flaming turtle is so good! The crème brûlée was okay. I recommend just to come for the dessert here and salad. read more

Our server, Emily B, was fantastic, but the food was mediocre at best. We were lucky and had a 2 burner table even though we were only 4 people (I was told that on a busy night, our table would only be used for 6 people). We were able to pick 2 different pot contents and with 3 forks each, the pots were still crowded, so I can't imagine if we only got 1 pot. Each pot took forever to heat up enough, so the cheese course pots were eaten lukewarm, and the main course oil pot didn't cook our food very well. I understand now why fondue cooking went out of vogue, since the various meats and veggies we cooked either came out over cooked or not cooked enough, and if cooked correctly, still tasted bland, even with the small amount of dipping sauces provided. Just not worth the trouble, and I won't be back. Hope Emily finds a better restaurant to work in, cuz she was GREAT! read more

She walked us through the menu and gave us great recommendations! We left completely stuffed and happy with our visit. One of the nicest dining experience. Took my wife on her birthday night and she loved it. We took 4-course dinner and I must say Cheese fondue was the most we liked. We took Wisconsin cheese. Salad was excellent too. Classic Meat entree was high quality but we were not so fan of the broth which we opted. I think grilling option would have been better. But meat marinations and taste stand out. Chocolate fondue was our 2nd favorite after cheese. On addition , beer and cocktails were like cherry on top. Bit expensive but it's worth for it if you want special night dine-in experience. My bill was around $80 when I opted for additional $5 rose petal spread on our table just to make her night more experience. Tip- Take single 4-course dinner and share portion with your pair. My wife has been asking for years to go here. I have pushed back as I couldn't wrap my head around the top dollar price and yet I have to cook my own food. That being said, everyone talks about the romance...let's get started. The entrance and bar held up to romance, but the restaurant fell flat. The booths are close enough to each other that there is no privacy. The booth next to us was full of loud kids and the booth behind was drunk Canadians...no offense Maple Leaf friends. The cheese was not that impressive. Nothing special. Felt like velvita with artichokes. The meat was not grade A or USDA Select. This was meat you get from your local grocery store. The flavors were not terrible. I was just expecting higher quality meat. Good flavor though. The chocolate fondue was the star. Great pieces to dip. Vegan food review! We did the four course vegan meal with another couple at our table and a group of 8 altogether! We started with the Hatch green chili vegan cheese! I was very skeptical coming in but this cheese was phenomenal!!!!! I cannot speak for the fiesta or the original as I have not had them but I am very excited to go back and try them both out. Our second course was a salad with a Raspberry walnut vegan dressing. I will say the salad was a bit lackluster I would recommend adding a vegan crouton or some vegan shredded cheese on top to give it some texture and additional taste. For the entrée we got the only vegan option the Veggie pot! I was pleasantly surprised with the meatballs and the potstickers. Everything was delicious and nutritious! No I started talking and didn't get to dive into this as much as I would've liked but the desert Vegan chocolate fondue was amazing. We finally tried this place for the first time, and we were totally disappointed. I could not believe that for the cheese fondue, they use packaged shredded cheese that is coated in powder. The Tillamook cheese I buy looks so much better than whatever it is they used. Not to mention, the texture was not smooth and creamy. It was clumpy they whole time. Honestly, Velveeta would have been better. I was also astonished that we also had to boil our steak and chicken. Why can't we use the griddle? We absolutely love manna bbq, so cooking our own food isn't new to us. Needless to say, they really need to take a deeper dive into better quality cheese fondue. 1 star for a great server, 1 star for the chocolate fondue, and 1 star for ambiance. We ordered the basic dinner for two, with cheese fondue, salad, entree, and chocolate fondue with many different choices and "dip ins" included. We loved everything about our experience: the food was marvelous and varied, we liked doing the fondue, and our server, Tatum, was very personable, attentive, and helpful. Tonight my husband and I had the night out together to celebrate Father's Day. We hadn't been to the melting pot in about 4 years. We were nervous as we were sure things were to change. And they did! But for the better! The options were great, the portion sizes were bigger and tastier, the chocolate was even better than we remembered. Our server tonight was Alyssa and she was incredible! We were laughing, and having great conversations. She was excited for us to be able to have the night to celebrate and even took interest in our life as parents and asked questions. The Cheese Fondue we ordered was the Spinach Artichoke Fondue had "Butterkäse, Fontina, Parmesan, Spinach, Artichoke Hearts, and Garlic." The board for dipping had a variety of breads, and vegetables. The fondue is made in front of you so it's an experience in itself. The Chocolate Fondue we ordered was the Flaming Turtle which was "Milk Chocolate, Caramel, and Candied Pecans." The board had strawberries, pound cake, marshmellows, among other sweets. Again, this one is made in front of you. That one also flamed, so quite exciting. What I especially love about this place is the atmosphere. It's very romantic, dim light, high end finishes throughout, and curtains at some of the tables for privacy to make it feel more intimate. The only negatives are that the prices are pretty steep for what you get and one of the fondues were made when I was not present at the table (I was in the restroom), I wish the waitress would have waited since you don't go to a place like this everyday. I think this place is only worth it for a very special event, like an anniversary. read more

We had a great experience with a Birthday Dinner at the Melting Pot in Glendale. We had two burners for 4 people and were able to select a Gluten Free option. We also cooked our fillet with the new grill which was awesome. Somehow, boiling your meat doesn't really appeal to me. The portions were generous as we didn't even finish the wonderful dessert.
