The main course involved few bits of protein which you had to cook yourself. Portion was small especially when considering the price for the meal. Desert was equivalent to chocolate fountain at Golden Corral except the meal there is $17 per person instead of $40 to 60 per person at Melting Pot. If you want great tasting food and leave full, this is not the place for you. But if you're on a date and food is not the focus, this is the place for you. read more

For starters we got salads and I recommend the Californian it's more unique and fruity. For entree you got to pick from a long list of proteins and I think about 5 cooking styles. Holy hot sauce! Or should I say...holy green goddess sauce! The Melting Pot was a favorite of mine as a child and I recently returned as an adult. My thought process was, surely it's not as good as I remember? Dear reader, it WAS. The price for the four course meal is totally worth it for the amount of food you get, and from fondue to dessert you are in for a treat. With plenty of gluten free and other diet sensitive items, substitutions are accommodated without flaw. On top of it, the interactive aspect of the meal leads to fun and conversation that you might not get at run of the mill restaurants. Come hungry, as you've got plenty of sauces, proteins, and flavors to try! The vibe is very dim date night, but all kinds of people and groups were dining so there is no pressure if you show up with friends or children! We went for my wife's birthday and were definitely not disappointed. Our server was very good - friendly and appropriately attentive. If you haven't been here, plan on a few hours because that's how long it takes to do all of the courses - it's an experience and the time flies! We did the 4-course dinner. We decided to try the French onion Gruyere cheese to start with. It was really good and consisted of Gruyère, Racelette, Fontina. Beef Broth and caramelized Onions. The bread, summer sausage and vegetables went very well with the flavorful cheese fondue! We consumed every bit of the cheese. For salads I opted for the Bacon and Blue Spinach which had spinach, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, Gorgonzola buttermilk blue cheese dressing. It was very good. My wife had the California Salad which consisted of Mixed Greens, candied pecans, Gorgonzola, tomatoes, and raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette dressing. It was also very tasty. For our entrees, we opted for the Coq Au Vin broth which was very good. I chose the Pacific Rim which consisted of Shrimp, Teriyaki Steak, Chicken Potstickers, Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna and Duck Breast. They were all very good. My wife chose the Create Your Own with Memphis Dry Rub Pork, Teriyaki Steak and Chicken Potstickers. The proteins came with broccoli, potatoes, and mushrooms. The sauces were superb and complimented the proteins and vegetables. The sauces were Horseradish, Curry, Teriyaki, Plum Jam and a sour cream based sauce - all wonderful! For the final course - dessert - we opted for the Flaming Turtle which is lit on fire and is a combination of creamy milk chocolate, melted with caramel and flambéed and topped with candied pecans. The flavor was superb. For dipping there was an array of strawberries, bananas, chocolate marshmallows, pound cake squares, chocolate chip cake squares, rice crispy squares and we opted include cream puffs and a small slice of Cheesecake. We are such big fans of The Melting Pot. We have been dining here for years and it will continue to be a staple venue for celebrations. Our most recent visit was an anniversary celebration. I booked a reservation on Open Table and requested chocolate covered strawberries for the occasion. When we arrived they were waiting at our table with a sweet card from the staff. We are always seated on time so we didn't have to wait more than a minute or two. We already knew what we wanted to order, as there was an Octoberfest special going on. We asked a few questions about the menu and our wonderful waitstaff had all the answers. She was so kind and helpful. The food, as always was delicious. We love that the waitstaff tells us a bit about the menu and what she is in the different courses. We did the full spread with cheese fondue, salad, grill for our entree and wrapped up with chocolate fondue for dessert. Our waitstaff also brought some extra veggies and dessert accompaniments and even sent some home with us. The restaurant is always clean and cozy and perfect for a night out with a date or an intimate group of family and friends. It's never loud so it's easy to visit. Went here the other night for dinner with my fiance. I will start by saying that I have been to Korean Bbq restaurants where the server told stories about how customers complained that they needed to cook their own food. This is not Korean Bbq, obviously, but if you don't like the idea of cooking your own food at the table, then this might not be for you. My fiance and I enjoyed the experience. There were no issues with finding parking. For me, I find it frustrating to start a night by driving around looking for parking. I did not have that issue here. We got into the restaurant, and my fiance let them know that we had a reservation. They were not able to find our reservation, but they were able to get us a table quickly. The table we were seated had a stove top in the middle. The seat curved around the table, so we both had access to the stove top. The meal started with us choosing the type of cheese that we wanted. We picked Wisonsin. A pot of Wisconsin cheese was put on the stove to heat up. We were given a plate of bread, fruit, and vegetables to dip in the cheese. The second part of the meal was a salad. I chose the Ceasar Salad. The third part allowed us to pick our proteins and also the way that we would cook them at the table. The version that we picked to prepare the food involved dipping the food in a hot broth until it was cooked. They have cook times on the menu. There is a scene in the original (still the best) Ghostbusters where they advise not to cross the streams. This is good advice in Ghostbusters and for this restaurant. Make sure that if you are trying to get something to cook that the person you are with does not pull a hot piece out of the pot and over where your hand is. In short, just be careful. The final part was dessert. They exchanged the broth for a pot of chocolate and brought out a plate thar had bananas, waffle pieces, marshmallows, and more. All the food was delicious and we enjoyed the unique experience. Our server was very knowledgeable and was a great help in explaining everything. She was also very attentive and checked on us often. Her checking on us could be just making sure there were no fires to put out. I'm happy to say that I did not burn the place down, and it is still there for others to enjoy. The portions of salad and dipping sides for cheese and chocolate are so small and the fiesta cheese dip didn't even come with chips. We have been coming to this location for over 13 years and have been going to the melting pot for 20 years all over the country. We went for Valentine's Day it was absolutely atrocious. The service was horrible the server decided we needed to have everything explained to us even though we had told him we had been multiple times. He constantly interrupted us during our meal to push us out the door. The food portions were tiny, we weren't able to look at the menu since our server decided to read it to us leaving us with pork which I don't eat and did not disclose the 18% gratuity added that night added as well which he did not even deserve for the service he provided. The service wasn't the best, but he did admit he was fired before COVID layoffs and hired back, because they needed the help. The Melting Pot is an amazingly fun and delicious experience. If you're looking for a place for a nice date, this restaurant has the perfect atmosphere. It has great mood lighting in general and our table was sprinkled with rose petals and tea lights to celebrate our anniversary; there was even an anniversary card for us signed by the entire staff. The menu is extensive and there's a lot to customize to your experience, and our server was extremely kind and helpful as it was our first time there. We started out with the Wisconsin Cheddar Fondue. It was absolutely rich and a delicious starter for the meal. The fruit and vegetables were extremely fresh and crisp, and we ended up asking for more diced bread because we couldn't get enough of it and wanted to finish everything up. I am not typically a salad person, but the Bacon & Blue Spinach Salad really did have me making an exception for it. The blue cheese and dressing paired really well together and they did not go overkill with the bacon as a lot of places like to do. Everything was balanced really well to complement all of the flavors. For the main course we opted for the Big Night Out for Two with their signature Coque Au Vin Cooking Style. This cooking style is a deep burgundy wine base flavored with mushrooms, scallions, and garlic, and it was perfection. My fiancé is not typically a fan of mushrooms but again, this proved an exception for him it was that good. We were a little worried about undercooking the meat, but they set us up with their timer app that ensured we wouldn't make that mistake. Everything tasted delicious and was so tender when it was finished cooking, but I loved the Shrimp, Teriyaki Marinated Steak, and Wild Mushroom Ravioli in particular. The shrimps were large and juicy, the steak was marinated enough to give it the teriyaki flavor but not so much as to overpower the Coque Au Vin flavors either, and the ravioli were done so well that even my mushroom-avoiding fiancé really enjoyed them. He was partial to the Teriyaki Marinated Steak and Center Cut Fillet, which was really tender and seasoned deliciously. The Herb-Crusted Chicken and Atlantic Salmon were exceptionally good as well, we just found that those were what remained on the plate in order to save room for the dessert. The six dipping sauces were all fantastic to their own flavor profile, and it was sometimes difficult to choose which one paired better to each item. You couldn't go wrong with any of them. The dessert was probably our favorite part of the meal, but we are huge dessert people to begin with. We chose the Flaming Turtle Fondue and were astounding by how rich and amazing it was. The caramel infused flambéed chocolate and the crunchy candied almonds on top went above and beyond our expectations. The assorted desserts were all so well done it's hard to choose favorites. As a huge fan of cakes, I can sometimes judge them a little harshly, but the cake cubes served were absolutely divine and melted in your mouth. My fiancé loves both waffles and rice crispies in general and I practically had to battle him to give these a try they were so good. The fruits were so fresh and juicy, and the brownies and blondies were dense with goodness but soft and moist. To top everything off, we were served a giant chocolate strawberry on the house as an anniversary gift and it was one of the juiciest strawberries I've ever had. I've visited this melting pot a few times before and normally receive superior service. Throughly I've been to several melting pots across the country and receive amazing service regardless of location. We visited for my birthday and the experience up until our sever was great, we called and spoke to the hostess and she was extremely friendly. When we arrived the hostess continued the same level of hospitality that I experienced on the phone. Our server arrived at the table and just seemed annoyed. She had asked if we had previously visited and said yes. I think this led her to believe we didn't need a walk through of what we were eating or talked through the experience. Food was often dropped off without explanation of what was going into it. Burners were left on far longer than needed at one point food started to burn and we didn't have anywhere to really leave our extras as the plates were small. Normally we are offered extra dippers like the bread or veggies, but were not this time and had an abundance of cheese left. There was a substance under the chocolate pot that started smoking, it could be smelled for sure and you could hear us coughing but no one showed up. We had to play with the burner to figure out how to turn it off on our own. The food was fantastic but unfortunately the service didn't live up to our normal experience. read more
