I really loved their ambience and all of their interior designs. It was really cool to see all the movies they did in the past. The service was good. Their mocktails were pretty flavorful and all had such a fun theme. Meals are pricier but it is definitely fine dining! There is a small parking lot in the back but plenty of street parking.

A very nice café that we really enjoyed. It's clean and well-kept, and the staff are friendly and polite. The menu is interesting, with plenty of dishes to choose from. In addition to the soup, we tried mashed potatoes with salmon and truffle-and-cheese fries sprinkled with garlic -- everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the soup. It was also lovely to see the many photos of the café's founder, Spielberg's mother, with different celebrities. They're very charming and fun to look at while waiting for your order.

This is the coziest, sweetest little restaurant in LA off Pico. Everything was absolutely delicious, Caesar salad, fresh pasta, trout almandine and mashed potatoes. Just felt like your Mom was cooking you this lovely home cooked meal. Nice wine/cocktail list, comfy booths and tables. Highly recommend.

Unique and one of a kind! I've heard about this place due to its famous late owner, Leah Adler, famous restaurateur and once concert pianist, also, most of all, mother of Steven Spielberg. I finally came with a friend and we both enjoyed the food and the nice atmosphere! It is a small place, hidden on Pico Blvd, not too far from Fox Studio. The outside is busy street scenes but the inside has a calm, quiet, and neighborhood vibe. We ordered a salad and a salmon dish; both were good and the portion size was good. Now, before you leave, make sure you take a walk through their poster gallery -- Spielberg's masterpieces are all there! A great way to finish the meal with the enjoyment of images of some of the greatest iconic cinematic works made in this town -- and like they said in the commercial: "PRICELESS"!

This is an LA classic. Never heard of it until last week, but I think any visitor to Los Angeles should make a stop here. Why? Because atmosphere is elegant and classy, but not stuffy, the food is exceptional, and it occupies an interesting cultural niche. The late owner of was Steven Spielberg's mom, which puts one foot squarely in the secular world, but the restaurant is also dairy kosher, which adds a very traditional element. For those who don't know, dairy kosher means the restaurant serves fish, dairy products, vegetables etc, but not meat. The waiters were very nice. It was a little bit amusing how long it took for water to be brought to the table, but overall the service was great!

The Milky Way is a cozy, kosher restaurant with a really cute ambiance and comfy booths. They do not serve any meat here but they do have fish on the menu. The restaurant was owned by Steven Spielberg's mom, Leelee. Her memory lives on here through her delicious comfort food. I ordered the trout almandine from the regular menu and my dining companion ordered the halibut from the special menu. Both fish were excellent and came with an appetizer. We both chose the butternut squash soup. And for dessert, we got the cheesecake. The meal was delicious, healthy, and delightful. We had a great time dining at the Milky Way. The interior is comfortable and inviting. Lots of booths! The servers were very kind and hospitable. It was a very relaxing ambiance. Love that they have a loyalty program here. They also have special events from time to time. Metered parking on the street,

First time visiting Pico, so ofc we had to pay homage by visiting The Milky Way~ This place is booomb. My bf and I walked in on a weekday evening and surprisingly had no issues getting a table. CHEESE BLINTZES: Hot & pillowy, with a smooth, creamy filling. The cheese just barely makes it savory; otherwise, with the fruit and whipped dip, this is basically a dessert. I wish there were more than 2 :') SALMON PUFFS: This is so buttery and feathery, after the initial crunch, the puff just melts in your mouth. Savory-sweet goodness. My bf was a big fan of these! FETTUCINE WITH WILD MUSHROOM AND ARTICHOKE: Lightly seasoned-- you can definitely taste the freshness of the mushroom. The noodles and artichoke were fine, but the mushrooms were my favorite part.

Kosher restaurant located in the mid City area (I think) of LA. I seriously never heard of this restaurant until recently. My friend and I got like the idea of going here after we visited another Jewish deli the day prior and had sandwiches so big we didn't have room for latkes. So, my friend hit me up and told me this place is supposed to have good latkes. Got here around peak lunch time and it wasn't that busy so we were able to sit right away. Between me, and my friend, we split the latkes, some cheese blintzes, and a tuna melt. I will have to say that this place is very good. I haven't been to a lot of kosher restaurants in my time, but I would imagine this is pretty darn great when it comes to kosher restaurants. The tuna melt was made pretty darn well and it was perfectly crispy. The quiet self was really clean. It almost felt like a northern European type room with a lot of wood. Again, we came here for lunch around 1230 and it was pretty quiet. You could hear conversations almost on the other side of the room even though we tried to not to listen in. The service here was super attentive, and the folks were super nice. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and would love to come back here again. Also, it should be noted that this is or was Steven Spielberg's mom's restaurant. Her name escapes me and apologies for referring to this restaurant as such, because irrespective of famous ties, this is a quality establishment.

I got there with my mother and was greeted by a very lovely gentleman named Clark. He told us we could sit wherever so we seated ourselves in the outside area. He came over right away with the menus and asked if we had been there before to which we responded had not. He went over the menu with us and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. He was very sociable and friendly. We chatted with him and put in an order for the Kiwi Chowder. I ordered a Modelo and my mother ordered a glass of orange blend wine. He came over with the drinks a while later and the Kiwi chowder and have us plenty of time to sit and enjoy the dish before we ordered our main courses. The kiwi chowder was delicious and came with little crackers. The clams and mussels were so tasty and the Ora King Salmon was a nice treat. After a while he came back and served me the Fisherman's Mixed Basket and my mother got the Fish tacos with fish of the day for them being Sword Fish. The fisherman's basket was amazing and paired perfectly with my beer. I had never had clams, mussels, snapper, and oysters all together and they were so good I wish I could have them more frequently. The place was very cute and sat quietly with good music playing. Not current music but music that really fit the place and set the vibe. I will be coming back here and if you ever go, there is no bad choice for the fish, the service is stupendous and I haven't gotten anything like it in forever, and if you meet Clark enjoy a friendly conversation with him.

What a wonderful surprise…read more I live just around the corner from Jamaica Bay Inn, and for whatever reason, it took me far too long to finally have dinner here with family and friends. I wish I'd discovered it sooner. The restaurant overlooks Mother's Beach, and the setting is exactly what you'd hope for: peaceful, relaxed, and quintessential Marina del Rey. You almost expect the view to be the highlight... Then the food shows up. For appetizers, we shared the hummus plate and the calamari. Both were excellent. As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. Beachside absolutely passed the test. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was solid, but the real stars of the evening were the roasted Jidori chicken and the jumbo shrimp fettuccine. The chicken was perfectly juicy, something that sounds easy but surprisingly few restaurants consistently get right. The shrimp fettuccine completely stole the show. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Congratulations... you've officially earned the title of our favorite pasta spot in the Marina. The service was another highlight. Our server spoke both German and Italian, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening feel warm and effortless. Between the location, the food, and the hospitality, I already know this is going to become one of our regular family dinner spots.

We didn't tell him there were any issues, because once the decision was made to stay, why ruin his holiday too? lol Ordered coffee. Dreadful. Ok, no big deal. The food came out and I could immediately SEE The Unappetizing . It's special when you can tell that your food is going to be bad before you take one bite. The French toast was Sahara dry, burned and flavorless. The chicken, was competing with it in the dry and flavorless category-- I really can't say which was worse. I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion.
