The first impression I had of this restaurant was that it was a family friendly place as I noticed lots of families coming to this restaurant. Based on size, it may be small on the outside, but definitely big on the inside! In terms of the ambiance, it is a place where people can watch sports at their limited bar seating area. There are TVs plotted around the area for people to follow their favorite sports matches. The customer service was really great! Our server did a great job of recommending their favorite starter and pasta combination for my dish of choice. She was really friendly and came to check in on us multiple times to see if we needed more water, napkins, soda, etc... She was really on top of it! :) The food quality was really good. I had their Spicy Sausage and Mill Red on spaghetti pasta. It was really good! It actually was not spicy for my taste, but this is coming from a person who has drank habanero hot sauce so my spice tolerance is higher. I did ask for some Cholula Hot Sauce to give it a bit more zing. The Mill Carnitas pizza was to die for! It had carnitas meat, mozzarella, and a lot of jalapenos. They definitely did a great job with the portioning of the toppings! I added hot sauce to the pizza as well. I definitely love my spicy foods! Overall, The Mill Restaurant was really good! They have a very unique breakfast dish that I love. It's the Plateau Potatoes. Think of it like a hash skillet but there's an entire layer of caramelized cheese at the bottom and also mixed in somewhat throughout the dish. I get it with the spicy sausage which is great and not spicy. It's actually like an Italian style crumbled sausage. I recommend getting two poached eggs on top. Another amazing item they have on the breakfast menu is the BLHT sandwich with an optional fried egg. The jalapeno herbed aioli on there is to die for. Coffee is average. For our first visit the food was very delicious, I recommend it. The only downside was our server Alyssa was not very attentive. When she took our order she stood about 18 inches from the table. She never returned to see if everything was ok and to refill our drinks. A young man refilled our drinks. When she did return to our table it was to brink the check and then again she she stood back from the table and practically threw the check to the table and left without saying thank you or anything. I was in the area and thought I would try as there seemed to be a lot of people there but looks deceive. I ordered a Philly steak panini and a chicken Caesar salad . Both turned out to be the worst I have ever had. I chose the panini on flat bread thinking this is a pizza place so they should have that figured out but the bread was leathery and chewy. The meat was smothered in mustard and yellow cheese which is not an improvement to the inspiration: I should have read that part of the menu better. The Caesar salad was a bizarre mix of lettuce, olives, bean sprouts, wet sun dried tomatoes, cheese with flavorless chicken and croutons from a box served with an overpowering pudding of a dressing that looked like thousand island dressing ( luckily on the side) yuk! We had a large salad and thought we would order some sour dough bread with the salad. There was an extra $2 charge for the bread. In most restaurants the bread comes with the salad. The sourdough bread that was brought out was one small slice of bread cut in half so it was half a piece of bread for me and half piece for my husband. That was not right for a restaurant to serve sour dough bread like that. I would never order it again. The waitress never came back and I had to ask one of the other employees for our bill. When the waitress finally came back with the bill, she never asked about the food. I mentioned the sour dough bread and she said it wasn't toasted right. Don't waste your money! read more

So glad our family found out about this place, in old town Murrieta! We were looking for a locals hung out at and served good Italian. Plenty of parking on site. We were greeted with smiles and seated quickly. The inside was nice and was not cramped. There is a seated bar where you can see the Chefs cooking up the pizza and pasta dishes. The menu was easy to follow and was nice to see that a lot of the past dishes also had pizza counterparts. The sourdough bread was on point before the meal. The 10" Pizza was large enough to fill up our teen kid. I Halo ''O Penyo Chicken pizza and it was really good, will try the pasta version next time. I was informed by their super friendly wait staff that they were having a special- salmon with asparagus risotto. I asked if she could substitute broccoli for the asparagus risotto? She checked with the chef and returned to cheerfully say "No problem!" The meal pictured here came out hot and the salmon perfectly cooked! Moist and tender. I have been to Italy several times and went to the opera in Rome and had risotto several times. It was great, but I told the wait staff it was nothing like the risotto at The Mill! The super friendly manager then came to my table and told me they might continue this item due to the positive review I gave to her wait staff. Also, when I finished my dinner, they did not pressure me to leave but were super friendly and kept refilling my iced tea while I enjoyed a live band. Such a great experience! We were first introduced to this restaurant by my husband's co worker. Since then we've come back regularly. At first we came for their pizza. My husband rates their pizza as pretty good. He is a Hawaiian pizza guy. I'd agreed their pizza is decent but I wouldn't necessarily rank it on the top of my list. During another visit, I was craving pasta so I of course came to Yelp to help. I'm visual person so I like to browse Yelp photos to help me decide on what I'd like to order. The mill white capers and chicken caught my eye. I saw that another fellow yelper ordered it with half fettuccine and half spinach. I'm always looking for ways to make my meals healthier by adding veggies. I decided to order exactly that and since then that has been my go to order for this place. There are days I just crave this dish. There's something different about it as it's not like your regular popular Alfredo or spaghetti. It's a white sauce and your choice of pasta. It's creamy and flavorful but not overly flavorful. I think it's the capers that gives this dish its uniqueness. I also really like their sour dough toast. I think it pairs well with the pasta. It does get pricey to dine here often but here's a tip. They have different daily specials. Check their website but as far as I know on Tuesday's they have buy one pasta get one for half off. I'm a fan of their mill white capers and chicken pasta so it's pasta for dinner on Tuesday since that's when we can get a deal. We are a family of 5 with 3 boys to feed so it can get pricey. I usually order one order of my mill white capers pasta and Dana's Mill Alfredo add chicken with a side of broccoli. My husband and kids don't dislike it so I think that's a good sign. I have tried to change things up and asked to order spaghetti once. They don't have spaghetti but they offer something close to it. The spicy sausage and mill red. I personally don't like it. Although I like to eat spicy dishes for some reason I'm not a fan of spicy sausage. The spicy sausage and mill red is not a spicy dish. It's just the sausage that has a kick. Surprisingly my oldest son who is the pickiest eater, actually likes the spicy sausage and mill red. My younger two still prefer the mill Alfredo over it as do I. Near the entrance, they have a dessert display case. They do sell cookies. The traditional chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie. Both are good in my opinion. They have cheesecakes made by one of their manager's. The flavors change weekly. I love cheesecake but I'm sorry to say that I wasn't impressed by theirs. Their cheesecake doesn't have that traditional creamy texture. Their cheesecake is more of a crumbly texture. The restaurant can get really busy especially during meal times. They do have an outdoor patio where you can dine outside. The people working there have always been nice, so service is good. I tend to order for pick up because I don't really care to dine there. I think because it's usually busy it's kind of noisy. I like their food and just prefer to order it to go. This place is popular restaurant for this area. It's usually busy whenever I visit. That's usually a good sign when a place is busy. I do think this place is worth trying. read more

We went to The Mill solely based on Yelp reviews. And, let me just say that I'm so thankful people took the time to write them! We were NOT disappointed!! The 20 minute wait was well worth our time. We had a semi large group, and the table went quiet when the food arrived. We were all too busy enjoying our meals to speak, and for a party of eight chatty women, that's saying a lot! I had a grilled chicken panini. THE BREAD was so fresh and soft and grilled. I was in heaven with each bite of the aioli and chicken. It was huge! I took half home and happily ate it for dinner.
