I visited Benny's Subs for the first time today. We walked in, the team was welcoming and friendly and there was a line; as the saying goes "if there's a line, there's a reason." I had no idea what to order with many options to choose from! I asked their team member Aliah, what she recommended, and she said the Pastrami with mustard and pickles on their Marble Rye bread. At first, I was skeptical of the choice of bread as it's not my first choice. To my surprise, the sandwich was delicious! Thank you Aliah, for your awesome recommendation! I always looked forward to going to Benny's for a great sandwich. The family and I stopped by yesterday after a ball game, to cap off the afternoon with some awesome goodness. This trip was not the Benny's I've always been accustomed to. The bread was almost stale, which is one of Benny's biggest item that sets them apart. The issue was the drink for our combos. They were completely out of all fountain drinks. When I told the girl at the counter, her response was, "I know, we got a machine?" Been seeing this spot on the drive by for a while and finally had time to stop in and try it. They were hit with a huge online order so it took a min for me to get service but they weee very communicative and pleasant about it. I got the Benny special on the jalapeño cheese roll. The bread was soft and the toppings were extremely fresh! Ordered the macaroni salad which had a lot of veggies in it but sadly lacked flavor. I won't hold that against them though. We've visited this shop several times because we try to support smaller local businesses in town. Recently, we placed an order through their website for pickup. The system provided a time when our sandwiches would be ready, so we waited at home until that time. While driving to the shop, we received a notification that the order was ready. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy with the lunch crowd. We waited patiently for the cashier and gave our name, only to be told that our sandwiches were not ready--and, in fact, they hadn't even started making them. A lead employee explained that they were busy and understaffed. They also told us that the online ordering system automatically sends a "ready" notification after 20 minutes, whether the order is actually prepared or not. At that point, I asked them to cancel the order and issue a refund. The lead said the refund could be processed through the website since payment was taken when the order was placed. Because there were many customers waiting, I chose not to press the issue further at the counter. I find it surprising that they would use an online ordering system that sends inaccurate pickup notifications. If they're short-staffed, they should either dedicate someone to online orders or temporarily pause the system until they catch up with in-store customers. Later that day, I called the store to inquire about the refund process. I spoke to an employee who advised that they would forward my name and contact information to a manager and that they would call me back. Not surprised that after 5 days and I've not heard back. read more

The tiny sandwich I got was 95% chopped and formed turkey a tiny bit of ham and a sliver of roast beef pretty much taste tasted like something from Subway or maybe not even as good as that they talked me into the potato salad a tiny Tupperware for almost 6 dollars. It was terrible bitter. I don't know what kind of spices they're using but not the right ones but I'm only saying this because the people there are so nice but the food is terrible if you keep going like this people are never gonna come back cause I'm gonna tell you right now.
