    Chicken samosa

We came to dine outdoors here and loved that the tent was so romantic despite the state of the world. They had music going, twinkle lights and Nassau street in the summer is always a nice ambiance to just enjoy a meal. As for the food, we were impressed with how fast the service was considering they had to run in and out of the kitchen upstairs and bring it out. We started with a delicious Samosas appetizer and I could've honestly had another plate of those and called it a night. But we decided to order a Mint special Kebab Platter as well. It came with a ton of chicken and some fancy potatoes too. Although the seasoning on the chicken was great (there were about 3 different types)! I definetely could've used some sauce with it because it was a bit dry. Not inedible dry...I guess I was used to other very saucey Indian dishes and wanted something to pair with a charred meat. Overall I would return, the food was good and the service was fast.

conveniently located near princeton university! This place is a little older looking inside but overall is nicely decorated and a great place to eat. my friends and i stopped by around 3pm on saturday and it was not crowded at all. the thali is a great deal at only $22.9 for all those little dishes! it had everything i love to get when i order indian food. i would definitely come back and get the same thing! my friend got the biryani which i tried. it was served so nicely in the clay pot with naan over the top! the biryani was not bad, some parts did not have a lot of flavor but my friend noted it may have helped if he mixed the entire bowl up before eating. i got another thali to go for another friend and the portions were even larger in the to go! overall great place with good food and kind staff. i will be back!

    Mughlai Chicken Korma- absolutely delicious!

Came here around 6:30PM tonight (Saturday) and enjoyed a nice dinner. Would recommend reservation, but also looks like there is outside dining. Our absolute fave was the Chicken Korma. My mango lassi was good too and not too thick like at other places. We also got the mint special (like a mixed grill) and lobster bisque. Lobster bisque was a little too salty for us, but we try to keep to low sodium so might be normal for other people. My only complaint is that it was very warm inside and just one fan circulating. I tend to run cold and was sweating. That was a bit uncomfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and staff was super friendly!

All of the above were true, and the food was quite good too. Each of us got a lunch special w/ Thai Basil Beef, and it was a good dish. I enjoyed the wonton soup and side of rice too, and it was a really great price for all of that. Service is pretty fast and friendly; the waiter switched our soup orders by accident, but when he came back to bring more stuff, he noticed when we had switched them, which I give him some credit for. Everything is nice and fast, no issues there. Inside, it's a pretty good amount of space, and nice decoration throughout. My friend and I both thought the door to get from the foyer into the restaurant had a really nice design. Everything in there is clean and nicely put together. Men's room was clean too - not very big, but good enough size.

Thus, while service was reasonable, a person shouldn't assume anything about anyone: not these days, nor any era. To give each customer the benefit of doubt is the most basic of refined manners. The food, however, is well prepared and fresh in quality. The restaurant does seem to cater towards a more elderly audience based on the presentation styles and music choices. While the vegetables and shrimp dishes were clearly fused from different cultures to some extent, the fried rice might have had a bit too much salt as diabetes is on the rise these days--so we tend to choose lighter salt in meals. The pricing could also be more reasonable for simple and traditional choices.

Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap, which was excellent, packed with chicken and very filling. I ended up taking half home because it was both generous and delicious. The side salad was also surprisingly good. We ended up returning later for happy hour, which takes place in the room to the right of the hostess stand. I highly recommend stopping by for drinks and bites if you're in the mood for classic cocktails and solid food. Happy hour is first come, first served and limited to the bar only (around 15 seats total). We arrived right when it started, and when we left about 40 minutes later, the bar was about half full. I'd definitely come back to try their dinner or to enjoy their happy hour again.

There was a young lady sitting in the corner in the phone telling us that there were no seats if we didn't have a reservation. Not the most polite but whatever. We went back to the bar and got a table. Why are bar tables always so sticky?! Anyhoo, we just missed the Happy Jour menu but it was only a $1-2 discount (except for the burger: $4). Service was pleasant and attentive. The food was overpriced for sitting in a bar. $30 for a bowl of ramen! (I don't know how it tastes but it's $17 across the street.) $22 for a burger and fries! $10 for two little bao with a single shrimp in each! Ok, that's not too bad since Bao is generally overpriced for some reason but I could have gotten more than one shrimp. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the quality. My friend who got the ramen said it was in the bottom 25% he's ever had. My burger was pretty good but the bun was toasted and brittle and made an unnecessary mess. The fries--personal preference--I don't like skinny fries. As for the bao, the shrimp was too salty. I liked the finishing salt but the flavoring salt was too heavy. Also, it was drizzled with aioli and I couldn't pick it up and eat it like the sandwich it was. Overall, a disappointment. Mediocre food and an elevated price for no reason.

The menu is restrictive compared to a full blown Thai kitchen, but what they have is decent. We ordered their Curry Samosa as an appetizer(flakey shell hiding a stuffed pocket of curried mashed sweet potato), Red Curry w Chicken (soupy bowl with slivers of chicken, veggies in a red curry stock) and Pad Kee Mo w Veggies (wide noodles with mildly spiced onion, tomato, mushroom, carrot and broccoli). Table service was friendly. The overall impression was that while this operation was fast and provided adequate substance on the plate and bowl, that it was oriented toward fast student life, not the gourmand. Not that it was less expensive than a full scale food house (it is Princeton, after all), but with limited menu and a weak hand of the spice reins, it wasn't really about satisfying the customer on the deliciousness scale. Good enough was good enough. 3.5 Stars for plentiful middle of the Thai Road cuisine. Next time I ask for Thai Spicy.
