I'll say that was what my wife wanted, but truthfully, I wanted to hit the buffet myself. That said, the food was flavorful overall, and the cuts of meat were better than I expected for delivery. We definitely over-ordered and tried a little bit of everything, so there will be a ton of leftovers. The butter chicken was my biggest disappointment. I ordered it extra hot, but it came out about as spicy as the medium items we ordered. The chicken biryani was a little salty, but not inedible. Honestly, I would rather it be slightly over-seasoned than under-seasoned. My wife loved her food. My daughter was not as impressed and felt her meal was average. I was somewhere in the middle. The one pricing miss for me was the side of white rice. At over $4, that feels like highway robbery for a basic side of rice. To be fair, I only ordered it because I wasn't sure what came with rice and wanted to have extra in case someone needed some. Everything else felt pretty much in line with market pricing, especially given the portion sizes and the quality of the meat. My go to dine in and carry out for Indian food. From their lunch buffet to easy call in and carry out, the service is superb. I recently had a soda that while I can't remember the name it's like a minty sprite over ice that pairs ama with their buttery naan, rich curries and crispy samosas. I was craving something spicy and saucy and this hit the spot Butter chicken - medium. I don't think you can go wrong with this dish. It was really good but based on my craving of spicy/saucy this day, i could have gone up a spice level. However a few people i know can't handle higher than medium Garlic naan - 10/10! Upon arriving the interior was filled with the smell of spices, and everyone was very welcoming. There were 8-10 tables available for dine-in - small and intimate. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and dal makhani, both at a medium spice level. We were not disappointed. The chicken tikka masala was full of flavors and plenty of chicken pieces. The dal also very flavorful and full of spices. The garlic naan was thin, flaky, and crispy. We ordered a mango lassi to go (not pictured) and it was tangy, sweet, and creamy. I just had a great experience at the lunch buffet. The food was delicious! I had vegetable pakora, chicken biriyani, chicken madras, tandoori chicken, chicken Tikka masala, paneer saagwalla, dual Tikka and accompaniments. Kurry Walah was an unexpected delight on a late night that was not going as planned! My friend and I had been turned away from the restaurant that we originally planned to go to despite the website saying that they were open until 9PM. We decided to try to find somewhere close by, and we landed at Kurry Walah. The store front is tucked in the corner of a shopping center and is very unassuming. However, as soon as you walk into the restaurant, you are met with the sweet fragrance of cooking spices! The store was closing in 30 minutes but the staff happily sat us and served us a full meal. They were extremely pleasant and reassured us not to worry about the time. I ordered the chicken tikka masala which was delicious! The chicken was juicy and the curry very flavorful. My friend and I also ordered the bread basket to share - it was HUGE and came with five different types of naan! My favorite was the garlic naan. We left our dinner feeling very satisfied and with tons of leftovers! I would definitely return to Kurry Walah, even though it is a 35 minute drive from my home. read more

Im bummed out. About a year ago, I gave this place 5 stars. About a week ago, we walked in at 8:10. They said they close at 8:45 and we could only have take out. The door says they close at 9. I worked in restaurants for 20 years. You seat people until the minute you close. We ate here on the reg and suggested it to everybody we knew. I get off work at 8 at my new job. I absolutely love this place, I come here for takeaways multiple times a month and it is always spectacular! The staff are lovely and the food is always amazing. I have never sat inside the restaurant however I could imagine that would be a delightful experience as well. The prices are also very fair considering the amount and quality of food you get. We love Kurry Walah but today was a bad day for buffet lunch. What was there was cold and most trays were half empty. There were no curry in sight. I love this place! New to the Katy area and decided to try the Butter Chicken and Rosemary Garlic naan. HOLY COW! I like spicy food and ordered a 4 spice level and it knocked my socks off! The chicken was marinated and flavorful, the naan was fresh and buttery. I've ordered it several times and eaten in the restaurant as well. The owner is so nice!! Have been here few years ago, when the decor was different. Came in on a Monday night for dinner around 7.30pm; we were the only ones dining in. This place is delicious! We got the samosa, chicken tikka naan, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and we enjoyed every bite. My favorite was probably the chicken tikka naan, which consists of pieces of chicken tikka baked inside a soft fluffy naan. Soooo delicious! Despite finding this dish to be on the high heat end (I'm not particularly a spicy eater), I still fought through and ate the naan because it was just that good. Service here is also spectacular! They change your plate after the appetizers and take good care of you through the night. When does someone do that except at weddings!? Also loved that they used Corelle dishware since that's what we use at home, which made me feel like I'm eating at home, yet with someone serving me. Definitely a very good experience. I'll lead with the food was tasty and our order was ready on time. I ordered directly through their website and I went to pick up. My wife has Chicken Kadai and I ordered the Madras. When I opened the bag at home I realized my Madras was missing and in its place was an order of Korma. Not a big deal unless you're allergic to poppy seeds. There's no "contact us" section on their website, but I found an inactive instagram account and a barely used Facebook account. I messaged them on Facebook to inform them of the error. My message was read shortly after being sent, but they never replied. Fed 4 adults for dinner and 2 for lunch the next day. We are picky when it comes to Indian food. Curries should be thick and sit on top of the basmati rice.
