One of my biggest surprises in my recent adventures to Sugar Land was finding Naseeb, a seemingly small and family owned Indian spot that has been around for many years. Sandwiched between a department store and an ice creamery, it blends in a little too easily with the rest of the strip mall plaza and would be easy to glance over in any other scenario. Luckily for me (#1), I stumbled across their simple, but flavorful lunch buffet and haven't looked back since. The restaurant looks small from the outside and is most definitely a modest interior with very minimal decor (#2) and a handful of tables. The family running the place is incredibly friendly and does a good job of keeping the place clean, replenishing items on the buffet and labeling the items properly. Some immediate standouts included: a wonderfully sweet and addicting mango lassi, a silky yet delicate coconut korma fish curry, a strangely addicting garlic naan that paired nicely with their butter chicken, a nice crunchy kadhi pakora, along with some veggie friendly and delicious chana masala + malai methi paneer. The mixed appetizers were a blend of fried foods, which included a not-so-mini samosa(s) and a very crunchy aloo tikki. While I wasn't in love with the roti, vegetarian spring rolls, or the goat achari, I can tell they were only slightly less appealing due to how wonderful everything else was. I'd happily give these items another shot on a future. Finishing it all off with a delightfully sweet galub jamun made for a perfect ending to the meal. $15 is a solid price in 2025, but I really just appreciate that the food was simple, fresh, and abundant with a little pretension and lots of opportunity for solo dining. ___________ (#1) Trust me, I'm the real winner. Been frequenting Naseeb for a number of years now (post-buffet era). I've found that the food is very good, prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is usually pretty quiet as tables are always available upon entering. Personally, I enjoy their vindaloo, mango lassi, tikka masala and rogan josh. The garlic naan is perfectly crispy outside while soft inside. The basmati rice that also comes with the curries/stews is light and fluffy, very fragrant. I've only ever gone during lunch for dine-in and to-go, and there is one lady who works the front. My interactions with her have been fine as she is quite assertive and tends to repeat herself, which has rubbed some other folks the wrong way. But all in all, I absolutely love this little place for Indian food in the SL area. read more

We had tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, garlic naan, and saag paneer, and chicken samosa. We ordered for 4 people, but it was so much food, we will have leftovers for lunch AND dinner. The food was flavorful, perfectly seasoned and spiced, and delicious. I enjoy this place so much! They have been my "go to" restaurant when I want a meal I know will be filling and delicious. They put their time and quality into each dish they make. Shrimp curry and chicken tikka masala are our go-to. The chicken korma and their roganjosh are delicious as well. Aloo kulcha or garlic naan are our favorites as well. I loooove their aloo kulcha. Went for lunch. Quiet location. Portion was a little small, but the price was pretty decent for what I ordered. Taste of the butter chicken was a bit sweeter than I am used to and pretty thick and the tandoori chicken was sizzling coming out... Food took a little while to get to us. While I wouldn't mind eating the food again, I don't think I necessarily recommend this place due to how unwelcoming it felt. Not that there was any rudeness. The lady was pretty polite. But her face was really like giving off vibes that she didn't want anything to do with us or the food. I really miss Indian food during quarantine so I got to have some. I went in to pay, and they take cash. There was not a lot of people, but they were friendly. Seeing some facebook postings of their lunch specials, I decided to get the lunch buffet on Saturday. I think the portions were ok, but I really enjoyed half the selections, and wasn't a fan of the other. The chicken tikka masala and saag paneer were really tasty. The fried pakoras were also pretty good. I didn't quite like the fish curry which was bland, and the tandoori chicken wasn't tasty. The nan was good, the rice was ok, but dessert which I believe were rice balls had textures of a hard sponge and not soaked in sugar. Like the food, their location is rather small so usually I get takeout. When I ask for mild food they make it mild, and when I ask for less cream they take care to not put too much cream. So they listen to customer. One small peeve I have is their use of food coloring. Eg paneer tikka masala, green chutney, biryani and even gajar halwa have food color. I was able to enjoy plain naan, garlic naan, chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala, fish curry, aloo palak, chana masala, goat curry, pakora, samosa, basmati rice, and some more I cannot recall. For weekend buffet, they have papadam which I wish they'd also offer during lunch but not a big deal...but also biryani! Perfect place if you crave traditional full flavored Indian food. Tandoori chicken was spicy and really tender . So many flavors made this perfect. Next was chicken tikka masala , really fell in love with this dish i always get other places. Clean chicken with extra spicy sauce was the best option for me. So much flavor and texture was perfect . Service was better than most cafes. This is a cafe not a restaurant so their clean and casual attire fits. Simple decor is not for first date but def a family environment. Rice pudding is good, hard to compete with the other two. Price is low considering quality . Slow week day night has me spoiled as food only took about 15-17 minutes to arrive fresh. The only reason I give 2 stars is for the garlic naan bread. I was very disappointed with the quantity of food for the price we paid not to mention the quality. We ordered chicken Methi and lamb Rogan. The kicker of it all is the chutney they gave and charged me a dollar for it. Total rip-off! This review is for takeout only. Our dine in experiences here have still been poor and we only do takeout now. We got the butter chicken ($12.5), chicken Tikka Masada ($12.5), and lamb khorma ($14.5). Flavors are good, though spice was a little higher than expected. Dishes come an option of rice or naan. The prices have gone up quite a bit since I've previously been here but it looks like they still give a fair portion for takeout. I would not recommend dining in but I think it is a decent option for Sugar Land area for takeout. read more
