When he fertilized my lawn, instead of applying fertilizer only to the grass, he drove the fertilizer spreader all over my new concrete walkways, leaving dozens of ugly rust stains everywhere. I have spent hundreds of dollars on power washing and other attempts to resolve it and such attempts have made the problem worse, so I now have rust + discoloration all over my walkways, which is a major eyesore. It will cost me many thousands of dollars to fix this problem that Dan caused, since I will need to rip out and reinstall 3 new concrete pathways and a giant patio. Dan's response was extremely disappointing, he did not take responsibility and there was 0 concern or effort to fix the problem. I would caution against using Dan if you want someone who is thoughtful and careful on your property. I hope this review will ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

A certified irrigation specialist documented in writing that the damage was caused by the sidewalk construction. What troubles me most is not the damage itself -- accidents happen in construction. What is unacceptable is what happened next: I made repeated attempts to contact this company via text, phone, email, and certified mail. I received zero response. Complete silence. I have now filed a formal complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's office. If you are considering hiring this company, please know that once they are paid and the job is done, you may be entirely on your own if anything goes wrong. A contractor's integrity is not measured only by the work they do -- it's measured by how they respond when something goes wrong. This company failed that test completely.

Teo was able to recycle a lot of material in our back yard to help bring the price around $5k cheaper than the next best offer. Now when the price is that good, some might expect poor work or follow through. That wasn't the case. The job took a bit longer than expected but Teo was great at communicating if he was going to be back in 1-2 days so he could fulfill smaller projects which I was fine with, especially for the price he saved us. After he laid the sod we did have a couple areas die and Teo came back twice to patch the areas of concern and even patched areas we were not concerned about and changed sprinkler heads to make it more efficient for us. Again, when the price is that good some people might expect to pay the contractor and never see them again but that's not the case. Having a company that follows through and comes back to make things "perfect" is all you can ask for, and him working with us to recycle a lot of material and save us $ made it all worth it. The concrete he added in the front also turned out great. Definitely call to get work done by them if you are on a budget and don't want to worry about half asked jobs. They refused to return our deposit - stating they had already purchased materials, which was strange, considering we hadn't even chosen our materials yet. AVOID. He was also successful in convincing me to consider a new strain of rhizomatous tall fescue over blue grass, with the former being resistant to drought and requiring less water to maintain. It looks great! His crew worked extremely hard and paid attention to detail while completing the project. Aspenwood had the right equipment to do an excellent job in soil prep, which included 15 tons of soil treatment. At the completion of the project, Omar (their crew chief) was meticulous in adjusting the sprinkler heads to their original state. Aspenwood Landscape is involved in other forms of landscaping, and I will be using them again in the future.
