This place is on a downward spiral. The service is not the problem, it's the food and the prices for it. The quality is atrocious. Chocolate chip pancakes just have chocolate chips thrown on top of them... We got rotten tomatoes. Who slices a spoiled tomato and puts it on a plate for consumption? The bathrooms are so dirty. I had to update my review as we recently moved right around the corner from this place and my husband and I have found every excuse to eat here; a birthday breakfast, a sunday brunch, lunch time on a tuesday, a "hey were you hungry?" My favorite way to have them? 4 of them in a box, to go, in front of my TV on a Sunday with no other plans but to sit there and devour my muffins (no, you can't come over. they're my muffins.) The breakfast is pretty much the best breakfast of all time if you enjoy diner style breakfast made at home with real ingredients. No, this isn't your $5 Denny's breakfast made up of fake egg "product", home fries from frozen packages, and soylent green (don't eat it-- it's people). This is REAL cooked potatoes and delicious, freshly cracked eggs... and oh, that crispy bacon! The fluffy french toast with powdered sugar! THE PANCAKES, the waffles!! The eggs benny on holidays and sundays (though every day is a holiday when I'm here). Our typical meal for 2 people consists of me: two eggs sunny side up, 2 bacon, 4 slices of french toast, and a side of home fries. My hubby likes corn beef hash or eggs benny when we can snag a Sunday seat. We have to call someone to roll our butts outta here because we are so full. This comes out to about $25. read more

The server was a cranky lady who was very difficult to deal with. She was rude and her demeanour was one of anger. Maybe she was having a bad day but from the "I hate my job" look on her face I gather it could be an every day occurrence. We ordered Grits for me as I had never tried it before. We asked for a small serving and the server was difficult when we were ordering other things off the menu and it got to the point where the person I was with who is the most relaxed and has such a kumbaya attitude had to say to her in a very gentle and stern way the order again. Of course when the Grits arrived it was in a huge bowl. A lady who was watching all of this came over and said "they serve it in a cup and that's a big bowl. Of course the waitress then walks past and says something along the lines of "yes, it's a bowl but next time you should order the cup". Ummm okay then. Geez talk about no incentive. Wouldn't she think...okay this lady wants to try Grits and she did ask for a small serving so instead of giving her a bowl how about I give her the cup of Grits instead. Wow- totally hate giving a bad review - esp. to a spot right in Pinecrest- but this place has honestly never been good. This was our 4th/5th time here and it's always been embarrassingly bad. Someone's order is always wrong and the service is just abysmal. Today, there were numerous empty tables though we stood inside the door for 5 minutes before being seating. Then, another long wait for coffee which was not hot. An order of scrambled eggs wth spinach, feta & sun-dried tomatoes was delivered without eggs- to be clear- an egg dish was prepared, plated & delivered without the eggs. When I sent it back, it was re-delivered to the table with the same bowl of grits which were cold- not warm, cold. Further, we were a party of 6 and when the wait for syrup and ketchup became absurd as food was getting cold, my husband got up and had to ask a different server for it. When you deliver food such as eggs and pancakes and French toast, you immediately supply condiments. We never recd jelly for toast. We have brought visiting guests here several times and completely inattentive service coupled with poor food quality make it a never ever again restaurant experience. But walking through the door you are greeted by a military commander that depending on her mood will smile or NOT... my friend happened to be drinking coffee on her way in and her coffee cup was taken at the door...not nice... there is an open cafeteria feel to the place... with many servers on the floor... you need to get lucky and get a good one...today I got one that did not like us too much... our complaints were settled by a face and rolling eyes... I asked for an eggs Benedict with extra crispy Turkey bacon... extra crispy hashbrowns.. I got overcooked eggs, chewy hashbrowns and extra chewy bacon... I sent it back...I hit the face and rolling eyes... never an "I'm sorry" or any form of apology... I can say.. the rest of my friends also experienced similar things with their food... We always drive by this restaurant but never actually go in. One morning my husband and I decided to try it. It's definitely a neighborhood joint with regular customers who know exactly what they want. I had eggs, bacon, hash browns & toast. This was the worst place ever!!! I can't believe this place is still open. The workers there are so terrible! They were next to a corner just hanging out talking amongst each other instead of providing service! The overall worst thing about this place was the food. My family and I ordered the NY steak and they gave us an uncooked piece of meat and the hash browns were hard. This place has the best muffins I have ever had in my LIFE! We ordered banana nut and cranberry orange muffins grilled. Amazingness on a plate! Apparently they are freshly baked every morning. The breakfast we ordered was very tasty. Its a bit pricey, but the quality of food was worth it. The food was not greasy and did not make us feel weighed down. It's got regulars coming and going, an owner who knows the majority of people dining at her place and muffins that make you want to never tell anyone about this place. If you go, and you totally should, have your muffin grilled it's amazingness!!! I guess that coming here for breakfast and not having a muffin was clearly not the way to go. I don't really like sweet, doughy baked goods. But grilled muffins? OK, granted, grilling makes almost everything better, so there's a compelling reason to come back for another try. Other than the muffins, not too dissimilar from other eggs-and-bacon slinging breakfast joints on the breakfast-loving South Miami-to-Palmetto Bay corridor. The main difference is that unlike some of the other places, which tend to be nominally Jewish-style hash houses, this one is nominally Southern-style. My spinach omelet was competent with a big mound of taters, the orange juice tasted fresh, and the coffee didn't taste like hot dirt. So all in all, a decent breakfast. My only real complaint here was with the price of the omelet add-ons. $2 extra to add mushrooms, and another $2 for onions (or pretty much anything else?) That's certainly on the steep side, and discourages any kind of omelet customization. Maybe this is their way of saying "just order a freakin' muffin already, will ya?" read more

Basically, you have to order a muffin. They are really good. If your lucky, you can catch a blueberry muffin straight out of the oven. Otherwise, ask for it toasted. They'll cut it in half, and put it through a toaster oven. I then apply 1/2 a stick of butter and turn it into a full meal on its own. They do nice pancakes, and sausage & gravy as well (not real spicy). The atmosphere is typical café. They are a little slow. Trust the name, you need to get a muffin when you eat here, my favorite is the blueberry, toasted with butter and a glass of OJ (mouth just started to water). The sausage & gravy is pretty good, just a hint of spice to it, but a little pepper fixes it up just fine. Everything else they make is fine. This place is very okay. Not sure how long it has been around but the inside looks very dated. Which I'm cool with... all of my favorite places are tiny holes in the walls (including hole in the wall) but they come hard with amazing food but this place is very average across the board. It looks small from outside but it's very big. I was there for about an hour and it seems like they have their handful of regulars that the waiters know by name. That insanely makes me like any place more. Paola was mine and she's amazing and kind and attentive. The food was okay, We got a ham and cheese omelet & bagels & lox. Mine needed salt, the potatoes had a great texture but not enough taste. The salmon had this very subtle taste as if it was kept in a fridge without a cover... like you can kinda taste everything else in the fridge. This was my first time there and everything was well priced and it wasn't super busy which I love so I will be back again to try some other stuff on the menu. read more

The Muffin Tin is a solid place for a good traditional American breakfast in a traditional American diner setting. It won't blow your mind away but it will satisfy your appetite. Their hash browns definitely stand out, their coffee is solid, and their service has always been on point, although mind you, things can get fairly hectic over weekends and during holidays. Surprisingly, I've not had one of their muffins yet, so maybe I'll swing by tomorrow and pick one up. read more

howdy folks! this is our new go-to bfast joint! before you order from the reg menu, check out the daily specials! ...and for the late risers, bfast is served all day long! the place is old fashioned w southern style decor and although there's not much to say about the dining area, the excitement can definitely be found in the food... i ordered a santa fe benny (eggs benedict modified w grilled sourdough toast, topped w pulled pork and drizzled w spicy hollandaise sauce) and it sinfully delish! my better half had 2 eggs over hard w burger patty and home fries... fyi. if you req for well done patties, it will be well done so make sure you req for how you like yours precisely! ok, on to dessert or sweets... of course we had to try the muffins here but not just plain ol' muffins but the grilled ones and it was quite a nice surprise... freshly made muffins sectioned into thirds and lightly grilled making them nice and crunchy on the bottom and soft and moist on the inside! this is a must try/have! this place is located inside a large u-shaped strip plaza just north of 128st on US1 and there's plenty of free parking here. it's kid-friendly - high-chairs available and they have the "kid box" which consist of silver dollar pancakes and scrambled eggs... it's got a casual and laid back atmosphere... the bathrooms like the rest of the place is old fashioned but clean and doesn't smell rank which means they actually tidy it up regularly. our server, desiree, was on top of things at all times... coffee and hot water for my tea kept flowing... they have three types of hot sauce: cholula, tabasco and tapanero but sadly, they do NOT carry sriracha sauce... that is about to change though... next time, i will be bringing in one and for here to stay! we read that ppl had a negative experience bec it was packed and food took too long but like everywhere else, any time a place is packed, service usually gets affected so it's all relative... fortunately for us, we came on a sunday at 11a and it was not packed and it turned out to be great experience! read more

The people are very nice... Very unpretentious atmosphere... They serve breakfast all day. Noticed some omelettes run $13 to $15 - I don't eat breakfast food, but that seems kinda high to me. The melts and hot sandwiches run $10 and some change... Cold sandwiches run about $8 and some change. I got the hot turkey, open face sandwhich platter... The presentation was aligned with the basic, simple atmosphere. The food was okay, but the quality was not better than that of a cafeteria ... The mashed potatoes serving was small. The green beans came from a can - no hiding it. The turkey was good, but the white, store bought bread was a little dry.... I won't be returning for lunch... Boys ordered two pancakes each - Took 30 minutes to get cold pancakes. Terrible service on a Saturday morning. Not many people there either! I had Eggs Benedict - were hard boiled eggs. When I told the manager he asked why I had an attitude? I told him I didn't have an attitude I just had bad food and bad service. I was simply telling him about the experience. Let's start of by saying that everything adds up for very little food. This was their st time visiting this breakfast spot since Walter's Coffee Shop was a little further in distance. Plus, they have a 15% coupon online that needs to be printed out. I ordered the corned beef hash and bacon, both with eggs, toast, one with hash and the other with grits with a side of turkey bacon. The turkey bacon was so tough to chew. Never have I had turkey bacon that was so tough to chew. Not only that, it had a freezer taste to it. I do not like freezer burned food so when I taste it, I know right away. The eggs were actually good. There was a flat layer of corned beef hash (Walter's gives about 3xs the amount they do) and a think layer of regular hash. They charge $1.00 extra for EACH ONE SLICE OF CHEESE added to the eggs and the grits. This was the first and last time of visiting this spot. read more

Have been dropping by this restaurant occasionally for the past few years. Their service on Sunday has been increasingly slow. One would expect that given the reduced seating that the service would be better because there are less customers in the restaurant. That is not the case. We waited quite some time for our food and when it arrived it should have been certain hot, but it wasn't. My bigger concern is the fact that some customers walked in without wearing a mask. The first person that did it had the door held open for him by one of the owners. Later another group walked in and a couple of them weren't wearing their masks. One person pulled a t-shirt over his mouth when exiting since he did not have a mask. I understand not wearing a mask once you sit, but to allow folks to walk in and walk by other customers without the mask is wrong. I also understand not wanting to cause a scene or send customers away, but given how small the restaurant is and how close customers are to you when they walk to their table-a mask should be enforced. Since the restaurant owners did not enforce the mask rule, and the service is a bit lacking, it looks like this past weekend is our last visit until things are better. I can put up with slower service, but a disregard for other people's health is not worth it. read more

Everything was delicious as usual. My only complaint is that the California eggs benedict (a special) didn't bring any meat with it. I felt like it was lacking. It could've used some bacon, lol.
