This is part 2. So Johnny called me at 4pm today to come get my truck. I'm completely impressed! He only had the truck 8 hours yet still completed a 5 hour job including parts delivery. I've been going to Johnny D's since I moved to Henderson almost five years ago. I come from a family of grease monkeys so not having my dear dad or brother in law to help has been a challenge. Thank God for these sweet people. I had an 2002 Ford Taurus and she was on her last leg. They kept her going until I finally got a truck. They are always able to squeeze me in when I felt like it may be an emergency. They do my regular maintenance. In the rare event they aren't able to fix something the always recommend another trusted business that specializes in what I need. I have a 2006 Pontiac Solstice LS3 conversion. Have had it into Johnny D's in the passed for a crankshaft sensor replacement. They did a good job and the price was fair. Now the reason for the 2 stars.... Made an appointment last Friday for today, my temp. gauge was malfunctioning and on the way to drop the car off the check engine light came on. Half way home Johnny D called and said.... We don't have the equipment to work on your car and don't have time to trace wires. My car never even got into their shop or was looked at. They advertise that they work on all kinds of cars, trucks, Customs, Hot Rods and off road vehicles. Apparently they don't. I moved here from Illinois 2 years ago and have yet to find a really good shop. Never had this problem prior to moving here. read more

So they found a deal for a rebuilt matching HEMi & swapped it out while keeping my upgraded parts. He fixed everything & made it right & road ready. Added headers & upgrade to exhaust. New tires & wheels & bam. I can't thank them enough for being straight with me & not overcharging me for the engine swap. read more

​I really wanted to like this place, but they make that virtually impossible. Met with John Sr. the owner and explained what I wanted done on my vehicle. He asked for some pictures before he could quote me a estimate, that would come the following day. I complied with his request and never heard back from him. I called them at least twice and was told, "We Are Really Slammed" Seriously! IF you're too busy to give me a estimate, why would I want you working on my car! If your car, old or new, has any semblance of a problem, major or minor or somewhere in between, there is no better place. I came to Johnny D's weary from the road and uncertain of my destination. In the middle of my Bachelor Party road trip from Seattle to Vegas to Indiana, my hand built 1959 Bel Air began having issues. What I initially thought was just a shock problem turned out to be actual frame damage. The damage was so bad that my upper rear trailing arm was held on by a thread. Despite the safest recommendations, I drove this car all over Henderson, NV for hours trying to find SOMEONE who could help me, in any way possible, because, after all, I had 2000 miles to go--and my friends were waiting on me. I stopped by and spoke with nothing short of four different places (mechanics, body shops, welding shops, etc.) before I finally made it to Johnny D's. Within minutes, Johnny was under my car with me while I showed him the problem, and even better, he said they could fix it. And they could fix it on my timeline. I sat comfortably in the waiting room while my friends made their way to the shop. Everyone inside was warm, welcoming, hospitable, and, well, nice. Within a matter of an hour, Johnny D came to the room and explained what would have to be done, how long it would take, and how much it would cost. The cost blew me away. I certainly expected much much more, especially considering I was up-front about being stranded. But no, Johnny D was honest. They even gave me free swag! And a t-shirt to replace my dirty road-worn one. And they let me wash my hands and clean all the thousand layers of grease of my hands and face. Within two hours my car was in the air and the welder was active. Once my friends got there, they were even kind enough to stop what they were doing and lower the car so we could get some of our stuff out of it for the night. And the timeline was amazing. They quoted a finish time of noon the next day, and before the 10AM mark, I had a message from Johnny saying I could pick her up any time. We made our way to the shop, where I shook Johnny's hand and he guaranteed not that the car was perfect, but that the spot where it broke before would never break again. And that's pretty darn good enough for me. We made it to Michigan, Johnny D! And I have the pictures to prove it. If you're in Henderson, NV, or even if you're thousands of miles away. Call them. They didnt try to upsell me on anything or come out with any gimmicks that other businesses usually try to rope you in on. I've been using dealerships for all my car & truck repairs for the last 50 years but one of my employees told me about Johnny Ds auto repair so I thought I would try them out yesterday. When I called I talked to Johnny himself. I had a terrible scraping sound in my brakes. Johnny told me he would check out and told me I would get my truck back yet the same day. When he called me he had done a safety check on the entire truck and found a serpentine belt and tension system was bad and the brakes needed to be replaced on the front and just clean and adjust the rears. I said go ahead let me know when its ready. 2 hours later he call and said it is all done and I was able to pick it up. Johnny was very professional and reasonable in the costs.
