The sun hits just right in that little space. My point being, if you're coming at that time, opt for indoor seating. We were told that new owners recently took over and that the food was better. I can't speak to how it was, but it wasn't great this night. We ordered the whipped burrata cheese dip and it was tasteless. The bread was cold and hard and also tasteless. What a delightful space on Main Street in historic Washington for brunch on a Saturday! We sat in the tap room with the view of the water. It was quiet and peaceful. LaTonia was our server and she did an amazing job taking care of us. The food was spot on. I recommend the avocado toast or the breakfast sandwich. Desserts look pretty tempting too. My son and I ate here yesterday afternoon for lunch. Jason was our server and we sat out on the deck looking onto the waterfront. Lunch menu was AWESOME! My son and I each got a combo which was half a sandwich, a cup of soup and a salad for $14!!! Food and service were both good but Jason was very friendly always checking back and even when our food was taking a little longer because of larger groups was always keeping us posted and checking on us. Amazing food! It was a beautiful day so we sat out on the porch which is a great choice to bird watch with kids. The inside was so nice too and had a great bathroom. Service was immediate and food came quickly. I got the grits and meatballs and it is the best thing I've eaten in months! The inside was clean and provided nice views of the town. I ordered the chef's chicken sandwich, and it came with potatoes. The potatoes were seasoned nicely, and they provided a decent portion. Unfortunately, I'm unable to eat spicy food, so I requested no honey chipotle ranch. Well, needless to say, with that ranch, the chicken was just okay. We enjoyed a Saturday brunch of shrimp and grits. The service was quick and the flavors were wonderful. Then we returned Sunday for dinner. Ok. So, the Mulberry House. Ive been going there since the beginning. But i never thought to leave a review until now. Let's talk AMBIANCE. As far as scale goes it's the grandest of Washington's restaurants i think. The art is big, the ceilings are big, looming high overhead with ornate stylings harkening back to an older era. Not to say that it's outdated; it is very much sleek and modern, with touches of iron and marble and moody lighting. There's always decent music playing and you always feel welcome, and the upstairs rooftop provides the best views of the waterfront that can be had. (And from that height they are the only place in town they can be had. ) And the rooftop space is well utilized with live music and and contests and even yoga classes sometimes. The FOOD is quite good. The menu has rotating options so nothing ever feels particularly stale, while the choice favorites remain lest they have a riot on their hands. Also they have one of the more eclectic menus around town with options like chicken tikkas and sushi-style bowls that the burger-and-fries type places just aren't doing. And the servers are always good. My lady was named CAROLINA, she is beautiful and bubbly and sweet -and as a red-blooded American male, that does help if i'm being honest. She cares about family and friends and her periodontal health, as she was born with braces on her teeth and refuses to ever have them removed -she was very candid in the fact that she was terrified of the Tooth Fairy. It was a candid truth and i appreciated the vulnerable moment. Also she realized the table had a very tiny wobble and she got down on the floor, and manufacturing a series of shims like an engineer in order to get this thing leveled right. Then she threatened to get out her welding goggles and really get it right for me, and though i was impressed with her dedication i had not even noticed the wobble. Also the coffee is good; i spend a fair amount of time there weekends im off work, setting up shop in their outdoor seating, both covered (in back) and uncovered al-fresco style out front. So yeah i love the Mulberry House. It's worth checking out if you're strolling through town or want to celebrate an occasion or just want a solid meal any night of the week. read more

We ate here last year and food was great. We went back this weekend with a party of 6. 4 of group ordered the Chicken Parm. Not one person finished it. The sauce just wasn't good at all. The chicken on the chicken sandwich was a bad cut. The burger was ok. Not bad but was decent. Potatoes were great. We all shared the potatoes. The service was wonderful. They were just attentive enough without being pushy but never left us unattended. My salmon was incredible! The tuna tartare was also very fresh and well seasoned. More tuna and a bit less rice would be perfect but it tasted incredible. An oddity was that we ordered the tuna tartare apps and got our main entree without the apps first. I mentioned that we didn't get them and came right away so I'm not sure if they forgot to bring it first, but honestly they were both so tasty and he was so cool about it, it's not a big deal. But it was odd to have it all at once. The one downside was the size of the spirits pour. My husband ordered an Old Elk on the rocks and it was $20 for 1.5 Oz pour. Considering a glass of Tempranillo was only $9 and my very full (and delicious) cocktail was $13, that's truly not justifiable. I live in CO which is where Old Elk is made, and it's very good but not $20 for a small pour good. Overall I highly recommend and is a wonderful place to grab delicious food. :) read more

We had sunday brunch here and it was so simple and so good! The perfect spot for a nice date. The mini croissants were spectacular and the coffees are great. We ordered a dirty chai and hazelnut latte, both very good and just the right amount of sweetness. For mains, I ordered a Monte Cristo which was delish especially if dipped in syrup.
