Every sandwich lover needs to try this place at least once. They pile the sandwiches high with meat. It's quality meat too, Boar's Head to be exact. Sandwiches come in just under $20 each but each one is enough for two meals. Locating the actual little deli can be a task in itself. But the directions given by other Yelpers was super helpful; follow the road around to the back of the building and when you reach a gated which requires a badge you've made it. Look for the sign. The business was busy as customers were flowing in and out. Wait for the food was about 20 minutes for 3 sandwiches. People love this place. Every customer left with a bag in hand and smile on their face. The service here was very nice. They were able to accommodate a special request with no problems. Outside seating under trees too. The pastrami sandwich was a favorite of my fiancé's and she got hers without the sauerkraut to maximize the meat flavor. My mom's Soho sandwich was the star here with roast beef smothered in gravy and put on a soft hoagie roll. She's still raving about it. This little deli is in a business park and is not easy to find. Drive around to where your GPS directs you, go through the sliding glass doors, continue to end of building, go out the glass doors to the right, walk down the corridor to the restaurant. The restaurant is decorated with New York theme chakis. They have inside seating, very clean and smelled wonderful. They have a soft drink case, coffee, salads, a breakfast menu in addition to the gigantic lunch menu. Once inside be prepared to read an extensive lunch menu! I ordered the Ruben. The service was kinda slow because there was only one person making the sandwich's and one person running the register. There may have been a 3rd person in the back but not sure. The sandwich was delicious, meat was very tender, could've used a side of 1000 and the macaroni salad was actually pretty good. Definitely made in house. Freakin' amazing sandwiches! Not only are they humongous, but they're also tasty. Their menu is very diverse, tons of cold and hot sandwiches to choose from, along with their breakfast menu. I got the Bowery sandwich and it was delicious. They are so generous here with portions. You will absolutely be full from even half a sandwich. This is one of the best deli spots I've been to. Location is a bit unusual, located alongside a bunch of corporate offices. Plenty of parking, and if you get lost looking for it there are friendly folks in the building who will point you to it. So this place has been on my radar for quite awhile but I knew it would be hard to find. Today I finally committed to wandering around in the parking lot until I found The New Yorker Deli. It's pretty much at the end of the street on the left side. Yelp Directions had me stooping at the 2840 lot but it's farther to 2945. The parking lot in front of the New Yorker is actually blocked as you need a badge to raise the barrier. Fortunately the New Yorker is right across from the parking barriers so just park outside of the barrier. The chalk boards inside are overwhelming so grab a printed menu and observe all the deli yummies they have to offer. I tried the following: Roast beef mozzarella egg aioli BF sando $7.50 delicious but could use more sauce. Mawin chopped sando scrumptious sort of like a bacon cheeseburger $12.50 Pastrami King stacked high like all the photos and delicious $19. A few of my colleagues and I stopped in at The New Yorker Deli and we were impressed. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side, but the portion sizes definitely make it worth it. The sandwiches are huge! My new fave sandwich spot!!! Can't wait to come back and try all the other options. My hot sandwich, the Gramercy, was delicious. Perfect size- big enough to share. The chicken was moist. The bread was tasty and held up well. Then the service! Amazing! Staff was accommodating, even gave our dog treats, and owners checked in on us and everything. This deli is hard to find. It's located in the back of a large office complex. There are a few signs toward the back that direct you to this hidden gem. They are open Monday thru Thursday only. Once inside you are greeted immediately by a very friendly person. The counter and walls have all kinds of signage that give you that new york deli vibe. There is a small amount of seating inside and outside. They have a sign inside that let's you know all orders are made to order so it could take 15 mins to receive your food. The place is clean and bright. The menu is huge. I ordered a king pastrami. Orders include a pickle and side of macaroni salad. They pile on the meats so you can easily share your sandwich or have it for a second meal. My favorite sandwich is pastrami and I love that they shave it. My sandwich was delicious. As a huge fan of Katz's Deli in New York, every pastrami sandwich inevitably gets measured against theirs. The New Yorker Deli is the closest I've come outside of New York--so close in fact, that it's now my #1 choice simply because I don't need to book a flight to New York to enjoy an excellent pastrami. The bread was toasted perfectly--crispy on the outside, soft inside--and the pastrami itself was ultra tender and rich with flavor. Their Pastrami absolutely holds its own against the best. I also tried the chicken salad, which was equally impressive. The ingredients were fresh, the chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, and the balance of flavors worked really well together. It is processed lean top round (they are honest and indicate that on the menu) but boars head is not classic pastrami. No fat, bland and is something you can buy from most grocery stores. Wrapped in cryovac and injected with who knows what. Service is good and store is clean so they still get 3 stars. I was so disappointed with the sandwich considering the name and the hype. My search for a real Pastrami sandwich must continue. I really wanted to like this place and support the new owners at this location since it's close to my work place but I'm sorry it was quite disappointing. TNYD is the best sandwich place in Sacramento and it's not even close. I can't decide what my favorite sandwich is, so I would recommend ordering whatever protein sounds good for you that day. You can't go wrong! Every sandwich has huge portions of meat, especially anything on a Hero Roll. It's all high quality Boars Head meat and toppings, plus some homemade sauces. The owners work there every day and they are the best. It's in a quiet office building that is a little off the beaten path, but once you get there it's like finding a pot of gold. 12/10 recommend! Food was great, service was even greater and the ambiance was fantastic! I sent a message about a particular sandwich and responded directly to me and I was able to get into the store and purchase the sandwich and it took me everything I had to not eat and drive. But once I got home I had a smile on my face for the next two days because it took me the night off and the next day to finish the sandwich because it was so hearty, and I was smiling the whole next day from satisfaction!
