I stopped by here to meet up with one of my co-workers from the area. Glad we checked this place out. It was convenient being right in downtown and on one of the main streets. When we walked in, we were greeted with very friendly staff, and the gentleman who took our orders, was very thorough and make sure everything was to our liking. I saw him make the drink and I saw no espresso used. Just poured coffee from the spout with a splash of milk (how is that a latte?). I didn't see an espresso shot get put in. I asked the barista to fix it and he shot some random syrup in the cup and handed it back. Still didn't taste like lavender. I let it be at that point because they were busy. I like visiting Nitro Bar to grab a quick specialty craft latte in the morning. I've tried the Dirty Wafer, iced Ube latte, and Cole's Go-To breakfast sandwich. (soft-boiled egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, poblano aioli, avocado slices, served on toasted sourdough bread.) The sandwich, although pricey, is a large enough portion to share and tasted good. The drinks are also good for grab-and-go. It can get pretty busy here, but the service is friendly and efficient. It is connected to a local bike shop. I wouldn't sit for a long time because it's a small place, but they have outdoor seating for warmer days if you want to. I tell everyone I meet about Nitro Bar. I live in Mass and every time I have a day off I like to drive down to Nitro. It is my absolute favorite and 100% worth it. Yesterday I brought my my mom and nephew for the new fall menu. They shared a bacon egg and cheese on sourdough. I brought my own gluten free bagel and got the pumpkin cream cheese to put on it. Horrible service. My girlfriend has been following the owner on TikTok and telling me how great this place is and how people travel from all over to go there. She wanted to try the new caramelized banana latte. We arrived at 7:15am on Memorial Day. We get to the counter and she asked a question about the drink. Instead of the girl at the register answering the question, her response was "we're not pouring any shots of espresso , we're pouring too many". We paused and were taken back for a minute. We asked "how long do think it'll be ?" Mind you, there was only 5 customers in there and no one behind us in line. She said she had no idea. She didn't offer an explanation , substitution of any other drinks, maybe a tea or anything. We said to each other , should we just leave . And the girl just nodded. I feel like we were refused service. I understand places may be backed up. However, you would think instead of letting customers leave they would try to accommodate in some way. read more

Nitro bar has great flavored lattes made with homemade syrups. I loved the carmelizes banana and the black raspberry was phenomena! I swing by whenever I am passing through the area. They changed the ordering line area which I found a bit strange as it looks like a really long line as a portion is now outside. There are two negatives to this one as it turns out the line isn't as long as it seems. The first time after the switch I just kept on driving since the line looked so long I figured I didn't have time for the wait. As it turns out the line no longer wraps around most of the interior which leads me to be the second negative of this newer line formation is that you longer pass the grab and go case. I'm not sure I would have tried their yummy banana pudding if I had not been waiting in front of the case. It also made me reluctant to leave the new line to glance at the case. I think they are trying to appear extremely popular with the newer line formation which is unnecessary. They should just stand on their creative drinks which get a lot of buzz. The people are a mixed bag, I saw one employee get berated by a customer about something ridiculous and they handled it with pure grace but others come across annoyed, They should have a area clearly marked for online pick up. The reason you order online is you want to grab and go. It is frustrating to have to grab an employee's attention to get your order and they often seem annoyed when you try to do this. I want to start this off by saying I love love their social media content and the story behind this place. Definitely worth a trip if you're able to make it out!! I tried their black raspberry chocolate chip latte with their nitro cold brew, not espresso, and it was delicious but I could barely taste the coffee itself because the drink was very sweet and syrupy. I think half sweet would've been perfect! Their seasonal flavors are so good and the fruit syrups always taste fresh and not artificial, I just think they use too much of them that it overwhelms their actual drinks. However Cole's sandwich exceeded my expectations, it was truly a perfect breakfast sandwich and the egg was cooked perfectly which a lot of places don't do. The vibe is so cute but it's still not the greatest experience just because it's insanely busy, especially on weekends. Overall, here are my thoughts: Pros -Sandwiches are nice portions and TASTY! We ordered two to try and weren't able to finish both in one sitting. Went for the camembert, ham and tomato sandwich as well as the pesto, cheese and balsamic toast (plus an egg). The former being better than the latter but still felt that both were pretty solid choices for lunch. -Coffee is quality! Cold brew was good and the chai latte was excellent. Mind you, I don't really ever drink coffee but my bf at the time, who is indeed a coffee expert, can attest that it was great coffee lol. -Service is fast, laid back and friendly. Cons -Parking is on street but not too difficult to figure out. -The inside space is made more for a quick bite/ has a bar area rather than a lounge style where you might spend hours hanging out. I think I need to downgrade a star, and this is not solely because "The Single Lady" is only served cold (what are you subliminally saying here??) but also because the birthday cake special was also only sold cold. Do you realize it's winter?! On a more honest note, the birthday drink was definitely not delivered as advertised. It's a bit of a gamble whether or not drinks come out as they're supposed to or as ordered (both my friend and I ordered the "dirty wafer" today, and they came out looking wildly different. When my friend asked if she received the right order--it didn't taste very hint-of-chocolately--she was told "different baristas made them." Is there not, I don't know, a standard to go by?) Also, $6 for a coffee seems a little steep. As instagrammable as this place is, I think we're paying a lot of the aesthetics, which may or may not arrive as advertised. Saw the lovely photos of the Single Lady drink on Yelp and immediately wanted to try it. The Nitro Bar is connected to the Dash bicycle store next door. The Dash signage is very easy to spot and we totally overlooked the The Nitro Bar sign that's subtle. So, if you see Dash, you're in the right spot. The space is fairly small and fills up quickly. We walked in during a rush and this being my first time here I felt pressured to place my order quickly and find a chair, anywhere. Unfortunately, the drink I came here for is a drink that is no longer available :( so, I went with a matcha latte and avocado toast. Both were good. The toast could have used a bit more salt and cracked black pepper. Overall, I thought my meal was very good, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. read more
