So fun. I'm kicking myself for not being able to remember the name of our game master (tall woman, red hair?) so, I'm sorry for that. But she was terrific. Knew when to let us try to figure things out on our own, and knew just when we might need a hint to nudge us along. She ran a great game and made the experience so much fun for us. The game itself is challenging. You really need to pay attention and use your head. The production value is terrific and the layout of the room is amazingly creepy. If you're looking to have a good time with friends and want to do something different, I recommend Mission Escape Games. It's a ton of fun.

We were met by Gelly who introduced us to the room and they were incredible! Gelly made sure to stick to the script and it really felt like she was an actress. 10/10 for her performance, she deserved an Oscar lol. There was the 4 of us in this room and we were quite nervous that we might not be able to finish/escape the room, but we finished with 7 minutes to spare! There were times where we needed some extra help and we loved how Gelly gave us hints and not a whole answer because it left us to figuring out her hints! Overall, it was a fun time and it had us wanting to come back to do more! Will definitely bring friends here to try out the other escape rooms :)

I must say that out of 20 escape rooms ive done, this one had so many puzzles! One was really tough because we werent familiar with it. I dont want to give a lot away, but you will know when you get there! Another Puzzle got stuck, but luckily the game master Sasha, was with us in the room to provide assistance. The writings are peeling off, lack of maintenance. The last room was the worst. Nothing worked. First puzzle already not lighting up, then the second. So we didn't know to go next one. Spent so much time there. Also the walkie talkie was not clear as always. The speaker not clear too. Didn't enjoy this at all. We of course didn't pass. Not the point. When we complained, the worker didn't say much. I hope Chronos can update these rooms because the rooms were nicely decorated.

My team and I really enjoyed running around Huntington Beach! It was a really beautiful day and you can't beat being right along the water. The puzzles we thought were on the easy side, but still challenging enough where we took over an hour to complete from start to finish. Most of our team are engineers so we loved the puzzles and caught on quick. The gals who run the activity mentioned that they have other versions that are much more challenging, so we may be interested in the future. Overall, I'd recommend Downtown Detectives! The cost was affordable and we had a blast.

The creativity of the clues, outdoor setting & ability to combine all the elements of an escape room, dinner detective type show & scavenger hunt were just awesome, to say the least. My girls & her friends had a blast! We chose the easiest of the mysteries since it was their first time. But, it was still challenging. Unfortunately, my visit on 06/18 was completely different. When we arrived, the park was nearly empty. My wife and daughter went off to play while I sat nearby watching them. That's when I noticed an employee named Jenny making her way from section to section, repeatedly stopping guests to explain rules that were already clearly posted on large signs throughout the park. At first, I thought she was simply doing her job. However, it quickly became apparent that she was approaching virtually every family she encountered, giving lengthy reminders about rules regardless of whether anyone was actually breaking them. When my family moved to the balance beam and oversized ball area, Jenny immediately appeared and launched into another explanation of the rules. My daughter is four years old and, like most children her age, wasn't paying attention to a speech about park policies. Meanwhile, Jenny spent what felt like several minutes talking to my wife despite repeated social cues that the conversation was over. After finishing with us, she immediately moved on to another father sitting nearby and repeated the exact same speech while he sat directly next to a sign displaying those same rules. Later, we moved to the younger children's area. Once again, Jenny appeared. I watched her tell a grandmother she couldn't be in part of the play structure, even after the grandmother explained that her granddaughter had a heart condition and wore a heart monitor, requiring her to stay close by. Rather than showing discretion or empathy, the conversation remained focused on enforcing the rule. Jenny then turned her attention to my daughter and insisted she needed to be measured. At that point, I had enough. As someone who has spent years working in customer service, I understand that rules exist for a reason. My issue was never with safety or employees doing their jobs. My issue was the constant interruptions, repeated lectures, and feeling like my family was being followed from section to section. I politely asked Jenny to leave my family alone. I explained that we were supervising our daughter, could read the posted rules ourselves, and did not need constant reminders. I also made it clear that I did not want her repeatedly interacting with my daughter. Shortly afterward, another father who had experienced the same thing spoke up as well and requested management. His concerns were nearly identical to mine. The team leader came over, listened to both of us, and assured us we would be given some space moving forward. Ironically, another employee in the same orange uniform later worked the area exactly how I would expect. She observed, stayed available, and only intervened when a rule was actually being broken. No lectures. No hovering. No constant interruptions. Just simple, effective supervision. Unfortunately, even after my conversation with Jenny and management's involvement, she later approached my daughter again and began engaging her in the same overly enthusiastic, performative manner. At that point, it felt less like customer service and more like an inability to recognize clearly communicated boundaries. The ironic part is that I never planned on jumping that day because I didn't want to go home exhausted. I simply wanted to watch my daughter play and enjoy a relaxing morning with my family. Instead, I left feeling more exhausted than if I had actually spent the entire visit jumping. Not physically exhausted--mentally exhausted. I've visited this location before and never had an experience remotely like this one. One employee managed to turn what should have been a fun family outing into a frustrating experience filled with constant interruptions and micromanagement. I came to watch my daughter play. Instead, I left feeling like I had spent two hours attending Jenny's Rules Seminar.

My group recently played Edeline and Cloud Escapes' newest room, Kapow Comics. We also had the…read moreopportunity to experience 49 Boxes earlier this year, a unique pop-up event that left a lasting impression. One thing Cloud Escapes does differently from many traditional escape rooms is that they let the story drive the puzzles. Their rooms tend to be very experience-focused, with each puzzle moving the narrative forward. That was especially true in Edeline, where the story felt like the heart of the room. Kapow Comics takes a slightly different approach. While it still has a strong theme, it leans more heavily into the puzzles themselves! The game starts the moment you arrive at the door. Be ready to pay attention from the very beginning. As for 49 Boxes, it's not really an escape room at all. It's a collaborative puzzle experience created by members of the magic community. There are six tables, and depending on where you're seated, you'll encounter a completely different set of mystery boxes. The tables work together to open the collective 49 boxes and ultimately solve one final reveal. It was such a clever concept, and I loved how it encouraged collaboration between complete strangers. Cloud Escapes continues to experiment with different styles of immersive puzzle experiences, and I appreciate that they're willing to take creative risks rather than sticking to the same formula. This escape room company is a must go!

Our game master was very thorough and patient with our new members. The scares were unexpected and in good taste. The puzzle materials were of good quality and durability. Afterwards, our game master Joseph took the time to give us a run down of their remaining rooms and insight into similar rooms that we might like based off our favorite parts of the Cold Case. 5/5 would recommend.
