This was the second time I've been here. The first was when it was operated as Nammy's and under different ownership. To cut to the chase- Cheap and good. Bread was perfect. BUT and it's a big but... The meat and fillers were extremely sparse. What would've made it 100 times better was more daikon and carrot and a tad bit more pate. Could hardly see the layer of pate in my sandwiches, and that's my favorite part of the sandwich. The steamed pork buns were good also. This is something that is hard to come by around here and this is possibly the only place that I've seen that serves it, so thumbs up for them. I would come to Olympia more often and refrain myself from taking the dreadful, trafficky drive into Seattle to get sandwiches from Saigon Deli if they made the food more like Saigon Deli. All in all, it's good for the area, but could be a lot better. read more

The sandwiches are tasty and very inexpensive. I got the lemon grass tofu bahn mi without mayo. It was great. It was more bread than anything but you really can't complain because the bread was tasty too and it was big and only $4. The veggie noodle bowl I got was fine if a bit on the bland side. I was about to walk in to grab dinner when I noticed the lady at the counter was not wearing a face mask as required by local law. Gross!

Went here for lunch with my husband. We were craving bahn mi, ordered the tofu version and wonton noodle soup. The bahn mi was tasty but not exceptional- it felt like it was lacking something in flavor. The wonton soup was not bad. Service was friendly, casual. There is an odd sound every time the door opens. My husband found it irritating but I found it endearing. Will probably try this place again. read more

Must admit, I am quite an elitist - particularly when it comes to food (and homo sapiens). Nom Nom's food reminds me of flying from Boston to SF almost 50 year ago, having my beloved Berkeley raised foodie pick me up @ the SF airport, driving into SF's Chinatown and having food of this calibre. Nom Nom is that good............... Remember when Alice Waters of Chez Panisse fame - (original American foodie after Julie Childs) first started her restaurant in 1971? The grad students, particular Boalt Hall attendees, who ate @ Alice's $5 (yup; five dollars) fixed priz meal, would then stay long into the morning playing poker. Price is now $160 plus tip. Not quite that old; arrived permanently by 1980...............but good food stories remain in the pantheon forever. Try it; I'm sure you like it (Nom Nom). Today, Panisse is way over priced....and far outstripped by sapling restauteurs in the Bay Area but Alice started the originally sourced, organic, locally sourced food movement in America. I honestly don't take the time to review places, even those I love. But I HAD to write one for the Nom Nom Deli. The food is even better than it already was and the service was spectacular. Still great prices: I got a Lemongrass Pork sandwich, a small Hum Bao & a bowl of Wonton soup and it only cost me a little over $10. (By the way, try the Wonton soup, you WON'T be disappointed!) Let me also add that I was always a fan of Nammy's food, but the setting was a little off-putting. However, the food and prices were worth it and it was one of those hole-in-the-wall delis that you always wish you knew about. They have revamped the interior and it looks phenomenal, while still paying a little homage to Nammy's photo menu. Nom Nom is wonderful, and I think I see a Lemongrass Pork addiction in my near future. read more

The sandwich was just ok. I was expecting more, the decor was nice and the service was prompt. I got the #6 and was excited to see they served the Banh mi with pate. Really don't know how this place could get a bad review. First off, you walk into the place and it is jamming with great music, you literally can't help but tap your foot or sing a long to the mellow tunes playing in the background. The service was excellent but had nothing on the meal. I got the Singapore Noodles with shrimp and it was perfect. It was a curry base and not too overwhelming, just right. I'd definitely order it again. My wife got the the pad Thai with chicken. It rivaled the Singapore Noodles, it was a bit sweet and sour taste with sticky noodles. I couldn't of been more pleased, the food is spot on to go with the atmosphere. We will definitely be back, and the owners are super cool friendly people. Much love read more

I've walked or driven by this place many times and never realized they sold Vietnamese food until I was specifically searching for a place to get bahn mi. As others mentioned, the vibe is interesting. There's loud rock music and disco style lights, but the service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious (I got them lemon grass tofu sandwich). I did hear a lot of microwave action but who cares, they probably prep things ahead and reheat them. I'll be back. read more

The food is amazingly cheap. I got the Lemongrass tofu sandwich and it was a little too spicy for me. For me I couldn't really enjoy it due to the the heat overwhelming the other flavors. I got the Curry tofu sandwich and it was great. I felt like it had a good balance. I could taste the bread, the veggies and the curry taste. I got the Veggie Noodles and the breaded tofu was fantastic. The noodles were just okay. I'd totally just get the veggies and the breaded tofu again, but the noodles just weren't right. I'll try to update this each time I get something new. I'm hoping to try the vegetarian ham sandwich next. read more

The lemongrass tofu was amazing and the coconut rice was so good. Very affordable, around 5 bucks. Family run and very friendly, they even gave us a free cupcake for the owners birthday which was so cute. While they use Styrofoam cups and that should be replaced with something more environmentally sound, I still love this place. I would go back! read more
