    Finding a raincoat
    Christina S.

I needed a raincoat that was breathable and able to accomodate layers underneath for the fall/winter. Upon entering the store-I was overwhelmed with the selection and variety of coats. The sales staff was incredibly helpful, patient, and was knowledgeable regarding their explanations pertaining to the different types of raincoats and their traits. The store is incredibly expensive-and while I do like my coat; it appears that the zippers are rather thin and of poor quality in the sense that at least on my coat they are constantly getting stuck and I often need two hands to secure closure for the pockets which is a hassle when you are in a hurry...I mean it is after all outdoor "sportwear."

Love the Motto over the entrance "Never Stop Exploring"! For TNF this is a great 2 story layout. TNF holds true to the high end Hiking/Climbing/Skiing apparel. The customer service here is great which is refreshing for Michigan Ave. Definitely worth stopping in to look for any and all sales they have going on. I'll be back!!

A beautiful 2 story store on Michigan ave. The women's department is on floor 1 while mens and kids is all on floor 2. When I need hiking clothes or other gear this is the first store and brand I go to. The staff at this particular location are always super helpful and 9 out of 10 times answer any questions I have. Everything is easy to find and plenty of space to look at everything. They also provide WiFi that always works great. I highly recommend coming here for any outdoor needs.

The staff here is friendly and helpful. This is a two-story store located on the Mag Mile in the John Hancock building that has a large selection of products. In addition to clothing, you can find ski wear, hiking gear, backpacks, and camping gear. If you are dedicated to buying a North Face product, this location has so much more to offer than going to a department store that just carries some North Face products. Also, if you aren't finding what you want, check with an associate. They can tell you if you might be able to order it.

Avoid this store!!!…read more I stopped by to purchase a pair of shoes and had one of the worst retail experiences I've had in a long time. Every employee I encountered seemed unhappy, uninterested, and completely disengaged. Not a single person smiled, greeted me, or offered assistance, despite the store not being busy. When I did try to get help, it felt like I was inconveniencing the staff - I even received a dirty look. Customer service appeared to be the last thing on anyone's mind. For a brand like Nike, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and enthusiasm. I ended up leaving and ordering the exact same shoes from Fleet Feet, where knowledgeable employees actually take the time to help customers and make them feel welcome. Nike, your products may be great, but the in-store experience was anything but. Customer service matters. Do better.

I was drawn to the metallic silver shoes by the Cubs clothing and when I found out the staff member had bought a pair for his mom, I knew it was destiny. I went to the women's floor, but the Nike Gato was not in stock. So I headed to the men's floor and had the staff member find me two pairs to try. I took home the winner and wore them on the plane home. They make me feel like happy and they were the only thing in Chicago besides food, so they will always remind me of my Memorial Day holiday here!

I explained that I didn't remember the exact model and asked if he could look me up by name, either on the box or in the computer directly in front of him. He told me he could only search by the specific shoe and proceeded to give me a hard time for not knowing the exact name--without first checking the computer. After going back and forth unnecessarily, he finally went to check and, unsurprisingly, my full name was clearly written on the top of the box. This entire delay could have been avoided. While still in the middle of helping me, he then stopped our interaction to assist the customer behind me--who was only purchasing a water--because that customer was impatient. I was left standing there, mid-transaction, completely ignored. At that point, my frustration peaked and I stopped engaging because I couldn't believe how dismissive and rude the behavior was. To make matters worse, he then asked if my name was "Robert" because there was someone else with the same last name. When he finally turned the screen toward me, my name was directly under Robert's, clearly visible. This only reinforced how careless the entire interaction had been. This was an incredibly unprofessional and unwelcoming experience for something that should have been a simple shoe pickup. The lack of basic customer service and attention was disappointing, and it's left me with no desire to return.

My situation is a little different.... I explained to my sales person. I'll probably never run a marathon again. I just started to hit the gym after 6 mos of intense physical therapy from a car accident resulting in having a full, right hip replacement & probably needing a knee replacement. I just had a gnarly bunionectomy performed three days ago. Hence, my journey to Fleet Feet. I first looked on line & found "THE SHOE" I thought was for me. I was set! Their site was easy to navigate & use. A lot easy than these sensitive keys on Yelp! LoL They offer shipping, etc..., I just wanted to check them out myself so in store was the route for me! Well, as you know, each stock runs differently (small-tall, short to high, wide& narrow). It was 6:50pm when I walked in... they close at 7:00pm. I had10 minutes to find my shoes! Naturally, I gravitated towards another pair! I told the sales person exactly what I was looking for & needed out of a shoe... He found it! He found it with minutes to spare! I tried I t on & it was the most comfortable, most supportive (more than my ex-boyfriend), most stable run-walk shoe. The best bang for my buck! Well worth the money & the wait! I love them!! Thank you, Fleet Feet! Oh! A 60 MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! That's an added value for peace of mind AND your wallet.
